This will be my new breakfast spot when I visit the island. They are true farm to table, grow their own veggies, offer a local egg on breakfast sandwiches, have vegan and gluten free bread and pastry options.
A go-to spot on the island for plant-based eaters, serving the best green juices and whole food options, with a welcoming and charming ambiance.

Hands down the best takeout on the island! Everything is so good! There are no other fully vegan or gluten free options on the island. As someone with Celiac disease, I am so grateful to have found a place where I can order anything on the menu.
Closed on Sundays isn't winning anyone over, especially when nostalgia for childhood favorites runs deep.

Being closed on a sunday is the stupidest business idea ever. People need food 24/7 so to close your store for a whole day, and on a WEEKEND no less, is just pure idiocy. Thanks rocco’s. You were a staple of my childhood growing up on the island, being one of the only gluten free places I could get pizza. And you’re closed on the one day of the last time I can come back to the island after my grandmother has died. So once again thanks for being closed on Sunday, I’m sure you’re saving lots of money or something from doing so.
Great atmosphere. Food was delicious but needs to be smaller in portions. We took home 5 doggy bags for half of an appetizer and half of all (4) entrees. Entrees could have been shared. We shared appetizers and still took home half of the short ribs poutine. Also very limited gluten free options which is surprising in this day and age.
Our main issue was with the server. Appetizers came out and we had no plates. Had to flag down the server. Then he disappeared again when we realized we had no serving spoons for the short ribs poutine and the beets appetizers. We had to serve ourselves with forks. He never checked on us We decided to try dessert and asked if any were gluten free. He said he would check with the kitchen. 10 mins went by and no sign of him and then he was serving other tables. We promptly asked for the check and decided to get ice cream down the road. He did not get back to us about dessert or ask us if we still wanted any! He was pleasant when communicating throughout but attention to certain aspects of guests’ dining experience clearly lacking.
Pleasantly surprised! Lots of gluten free options. They have a dedicated fryer and the fried oysters were GF. My daughter hasn't had those in ages. We also had a poke bowl, sushrito and the local Quahog clam chowder.
Food was very good and for the items we got it was a decent price for MV. Would definitely return.
Great hidden gem! Stopped by in the winter for lunch and it was super tasty! Great gluten free vegan crepes too! The coffee was also delicious one of the best espressos I’ve had on island.
Small local coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly. Reasonably priced, but cash only. They had a few gluten free options for pastries.
Indulge in some seriously delicious baked goods that impress even the toughest critics and make every penny worth it!

I am in my 3rd decade of eating gluten free (NOT by choice) and I have to say your gluten free pies and cookies are by far the most DEE-LISH-US I have ever encountered. For me the treat is definitely worth the price! Keep up the good work!
Firstly for anyone who has visited the Vinyard it is not cheap by any means. For instance the Black Dog Tavern suggested we pay $22.00 for a salad or $26 for a burger. The Net Result was up the st just a little bit. Prices were very reasonable for my family of 6. Highly recommend them. They also took such care for my wife's gluten allergy.
I put off writing this because I don't like to give bad reviews, but I unfortunately had a pretty bad experience at this restaurant over the weekend. Myself and 6 others were on the Vineyard for the day celebrating a bachelorette party and stopped in to grab a low key lunch. Right off the bat we were met with attitude at the door by someone from the waitstaff who coarsely told us to close the door behind us (it was open when we came in?) and then asked how many and walked away. We stood there wondering if we were supposed to follow or wait. Someone did come back and showed us to our table. The server we had seemed to be inconvenienced by us, was unfriendly and short with us throughout our meal, and took a very long time in between visiting our table. We had someone in our party with a gluten intolerance and she was pleased to see that there were gluten free options. When her food arrived she took a small bite of her sandwich and quickly realized the bun was not the gluten free bun she had requested. When she questioned whether this was a GF free bun to the server, our server laughed about it and then said, oh no, I guess it's not and took it back to the kitchen. Our server also didn't notify 2 gals who ordered the martini from the Specials menu that they wouldn't include the cajun cream cheese stuffed olives (the selling point of the martini) only after bringing them to the table (we were also charged the specials price for them). Now, I get that on first glance people might have thought we'd be a handful, but we're a group of mid thirties ladies looking to grab lunch, we weren't being loud or obnoxious ordering shots wearing penis necklaces or anything.
I also get the burnout of working in a highly trafficked and tourist heavy location, I grew up on the Cape and served many many years in the service industry but treating your customers this way was really disappointing to see.
The food was fine, the views were beautiful but the service was not.
Unbeatable selection with surprisingly fair prices, making it a go-to for everyone, from vegans to sweet tooth lovers!

I truly enjoyed my first time experience at the Black Dog Bakery Cafe for lunch! The warmth and inviting atmosphere, coupled with friendly customer service, truly set the stage for an enjoyable visit. The unique and flavorful coffee surpassed my expectations leaving a lasting impression. The thoughtful display of merchandise and the dog-friendly ambiance add a charming touch for canine enthusiasts. The classic train car and outdoor seating provide a lovely setting for patrons to savor their meals. The Black Dog Bakery and Cafe is a gem with their deliciously rich peanut butter cups for gluten-free lovers, and irresistible cupcakes and other delicious homemade Bakery items. It's clear that The Black Dog Cafe has earned a special place in my list of favorite eateries.
Food was awesome, seriously delious! Had lots of gluten-free options. But the service missed the mark. For the first time in my life, my food arrived before my ice tea did. We had to ask our waiter for a refill on our water kraft and all our drinks. Mint ice tea was delicious, wish I could have gotten more than one glass.

We had our daughter and son in laws 5th Anniversary dinner here on 5/22/21 (saturday night) We requested the patio. They were renovating the patio and they were not sure if they would have done in time. Well they pulled it off. We were able to fit 20 of us in their out door area. They let us come earlier in the day to put up lights and balloons. To make the occasion so special. They also had a florist bring in beautiful baskets of flowers for the tables. Extra special. :))
The waiters and waitresses were just so friendly and efficient. Amazing staff you have Salvatore!!
The food was incredible and had gluten free options for our daughter. The drinks were just as incredible as the food. I suggest the Cosmopolitan. It was their special drink that night. Soooo good!!
Salvatore came out at the end of the night to say goodbye. Beautiful man and beautiful restaurant.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. You will not be disappointed.

Catboat Coffee is such a wonderful addition to Vineyard Haven, offering so many flavorful options for takeout. It was so nice having them available in the shoulder seasons when takeout options were extremely limited. It is always so exciting trying their food - we have never been disappointed. Also highly recommend trying the labneh and muhammara dipping sauces - you will be obsessed.
Their latte is also my favorite in Vineyard Haven. The caramel is rich and the latte itself is always velvety and light (with some beautiful latte art every time I order). The people working behind the counter are always friendly and are clearly passionate about their product.
It’s also a fantastic spot to shop if you’re hosting a party. They have some incredible cheese options available thanks to MV Cheesery, and lots of delicious crackers (even gluten free options!). Also, don’t sleep on the dipping sauces - seriously.
I highly recommend taking a trip to this hidden gem in Vineyard Haven during your next trip to Martha’s Vineyard. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll be supporting a wonderful group of people too.
