This place is amazing. The dips are so fun. The people working there are super fun to talk to and the coffee is better than Starbucks in my opinion. And as a vegan with celiac it’s super hard for me to find good desserts in NYC. Thank god for El Churro!!!
This spot is a dessert lover's paradise with artistic, rich cakes and unique flavors that make every bite an unforgettable experience.

Hands down, the best gluten-free cake in the city—and quite possibly the best cake I’ve ever had, period.
My first bite of the beautifying fudge brownie cake made me want to dance, and by the second, I actually did. The rich, decadent chocolate is everything you dream of in a chocolate cake. But what truly made my taste buds sing was the surprising and delightful addition of dried fruit and herbs that complement the chocolate masterfully.
I tried a slice warm, and let me tell you—ooey, gooey perfection. One slice is so filling and the texture is so indulgent and satisfying.
This isn’t just a cake; it’s art, it’s therapy, it’s magic. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. An absolute must-have for any chocolate lover, gluten-free or not!
Unbelievable gluten free pizza. The most flavorful margherita I’ve ever had. One of the pies I ordered was incorrect but they swiftly resolved the problem and delivered a new pie. I love this place!

A charming spot in NYC lauded for sublime soft cones especially the salted praline and chocolate mint, but do check hours before visiting!

Nice little spot for well presented ice cream with fun toppings.
Very allergen friendly including having a good number of gluten free options (entire shop is vegan).
Bit pricey like many things in NYC but, has outdoor seating with great people watching so serves as a nice place to take a break and have a snack.

Wow! Such a lovely restaurant. Bar is beautiful, restaurant very cozy & comfortable. Fast service, very kind hostess. My family really enjoyed the meal. They accommodated a large group and fed me safe gluten free options even corrected one we originally ordered, to GF. Please do enjoy a delicious cocktail during your visit. I had the lychee cocktail, so delicious!
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with quick seating, deliciously unique flavors, and a surprising twist on traditional dishes.

I got the only ramen they make gluten-free (I don't remember the name). I didn't particularly like it, but I agree it was well made (it just didn't meet my personal taste)
With a cozy vibe and unique dishes, this spot is a must-visit for a delightful dining experience that'll keep you coming back for more!

I’m incredibly impressed with this restaurant. The owner was SO attentive the entire time and helped me make the best gluten free choices. The food was excellent, especially the pad Thai with duck. The place is also super cozy and homie feeling. 10/10 recommend.

Great pasta spot in Essex market. They have lots of vegan sauces, and gluten free options. We got the turkey bolognese and meatballs with very fresh salad, very happy with our meal

What a welcome change of pace. I went in, frankly desperate for something to eat before a class and wasn't expecting such a gem! The friendly person at the counter reassured me that they could make my sandwich gluten free, the coffee was great, the wrap was delicious and the airy, friendly atmosphere has put this on my regular spot list. I'm going there every week before that same class.
Love this place! Super friendly/ knowledgeable staff, also met one of the owners who was really nice and helpful as we made selections. Lots of sour gummies and licorice (plenty of gluten/free and gelatin-free options!). They also had a lot of chocolate/sweet candies too. Very clean, fun decoration & vibe. Definitely will be back for more :)
I'd ask them if food service can make sure there are some David's GF Chocolate Chip Cookies in the recovery room for you. Seriously, those cookies were the highlight of my tenure over there. They're really good.
Enjoy a mouthwatering smash burger experience with unique lettuce wraps and a detailed allergen key for safe choices.

Excellent smash burger. Gluten free options: Burgers are grilled on a dedicated space, no buns or flour tortillas touch that surface. They have lettuce wraps. Be careful with the sauces, not all are gluten free but the server has an allergen key at the station.
Horrible service. Waiter was hostile for no apparent reason when explaining they don’t have a gluten free menu. Not sure why but I think it’s because most restaurants are generally accommodating allergies. Honestly bizarre service and I think the staff is frustrated that they have to turn away people so often. That’s not really ideal menu planning at all.
With a lively ambiance and exceptional service, this spot is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in the city.

My friend and I had dinner on Friday night at the NYC location of Beauty and Essex. It was a long anticipated evening to celebrate her birthday. We were supposed to come a few years ago, but first the pandemic put a hold on our plans and then she had surgery, further delaying us.
We are both gluten free and dairy free and were really looking forward to the delicious options on your menu. We asked the server to clarify the ‘cross’ symbol next to some of the options and wanted to know if those meant they were gluten free. He said Yes, they were. We also told him we were both gluten and dairy free. We ordered the Vegan sherry glazed tofu, the miso glazed crispy eggplant and the autumn roasted vegetables. For dessert we ordered the vegan brownie sundae.
We were curious about what some of the gluten free substitutions were on the items, such as the coating on the eggplant and the couscous-like ingredient with the tofu. He told us he didn’t know what they used for the eggplant coating and he said the couscous-like ingredient was couscous, which of course is not gluten free. We thought that was odd and we thought maybe he didn’t know what they used as a substitution.
What we figured out later that evening, when my friend got very sick, was that he didn’t know about the menu, or that the ‘cross’ meant gluten free options available. He just told us they were gluten free. Unfortunately our fun couple of days in Manhattan turned into a shortened trip and had to head home to treat her symptoms.
We are typically very careful about making sure what we are getting is gluten free and dairy free, but we also need to rely on the servers to know how to accommodate us.
I just wanted to make you aware and ensure that the servers are familiar with the gluten free options on your menu. Hopefully it can prevent someone else from getting sick.

Very delicious! The savory mini pancakes with mushrooms were a star. Really liked them and I think they’re gluten free (didn’t verify).
The vegetable pho is great because it comes with tofu and there’s lots of bok choi, peas, and mushrooms. I love the fibre boost. And you can get it with any broth (I liked beef > chicken).
It’s a great spot for gluten free friendly food. Good prices for pho.
One appetizer and 2 mains came to $42 - very reasonable prices.

Clinton St was a great find for some lunch. The potato pancakes were excellent for a gluten free option (the apple sauce was incredible) and the biscuit (scone) was fantastic.
The staff are busy but super friendly. There was a 25 minute wait as we were walk-ins, you can book reservations ahead of time, just not on the day.
While in NYC, I crept silently out of the hotel every morning while my gluten- & lactose-intolerant boyfriend was sleeping to get a bagel and cream cheese from this place. Back home, I dream of this place and wish my local bagel shops could come close.

I went with a large group on 10/21 and told our waiter I was allergic to gluten. The gentleman serving our table treated me like a VIP. He went over menu items with me, and really took care of me throughout the meal. The food was also really good and I can’t recommend this place enough.
It doesn't get better than this. Really. Have been coming here for years. Newly expanded, lots of room. Service is top notch and friendly. If you speak German you'll have even more fun, becuase so does the staff. Great atmosphere and food without the Americanized beer hall kitsch, but with a worthy beer menu. But please don't come here if you don't like German food and then complain. Try the decadent homemade liverwurst (yes decadent and liverwurst in the same sentence) even if you think you don't like liverwurst. This isn't Oscar Meyer. Worth commenting on, I have to be gluten free and they were very accommodating. Maybe one day Cafe Katja will have a gluten free spaetzle...

Very cute place with fresh food. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. I have celiacs and they put the pita separately for my sister so she could still enjoy. We shared fattouch salad croutons on the side and added chicken, it was excellent. Red pepper dip was our favorite. Hummus was so so. Quick and friendly service.
Vegan, gluten free crepes 24/7? Fresh or savory? Yes! Great selection of vegan grocery items. This place is packed with goodness. Perfect for daytime quickies or late night munchies. Check out the amazing bottled juice display outside the store containing their fresh pressed juices.
Tasty Filipino spot with cute intimate vibe. Came here once and definitely want to try more of the dishes.

Many labeled gluten free options
The vegan birria tacos were fantastic. The jackfruit was so soft and the overall flavor was perfect. They were also gluten free which we love to see. I will definitely be getting these again.
Jorge and team went out of their way to accommodate my gluten allergy and family. The entire dining experience was perfect. Thank you for the great experience.

This place is wonderfullllll - especially late night! ;) My partner and I landed in NY around midnight, and were able to pop in and get some delicious empanadas. A lot of flavorful options, and I'm gluten free which works perfectly with corn-based foods.
Love the easy self-service kiosks where you can just order and wait for your food. Still, the workers are helpful if/when needed.
There's a limited number of seats/tables, but honestly this place has a to-go vibe anyway!

I have celiac, so I called ahead and the staff was really well informed on what options were gluten free and safe for me and what options weren’t. It really means a lot to me when a restaurant is able to be accommodating to people with dietary restrictions. Really delicious food, especially the banh beo and banh xeo!
