We thought we’d give this diner a try because they have plenty of gluten free options. However, when we ordered a burger with a gluten free bun, it came to us without the gluten free bun despite us informing the server that it’s a gluten allergy. The burger was fixed but the next time we went back to the diner, they handed us our waters once we sat down and one of the three waters was sparkling, another one of the three had a lipstick stain on the glass and the third was regular water leading us to assume that we had been given left over waters from another table. We left promptly after receiving those waters. I give the service 5 stars because the waiters we’ve had there were very nice and knowledgeable and the waters could have been given to us by the bus staff behind the waiters backs. The water experience alone was enough for us to never want to return to this diner though.

Very easy to eat gluten free here. Once I notified the waiter I had Celiac, she went back to the kitchen for a fresh batch of tortilla chips to ensure they were gluten free and not cross contaminated, I immediately felt comfortable eating here after that! The enchiladas were amazing and the orange flan blew me away.

We almost didn’t stop in 2 friends said it wasn’t very good. I thought it was wonderful! Never listen to friends who arent foodies. I had a salad with shrimp in it, fabulous. My friend needs to eat gluten free so there was gluten free options which is a plus. Service was perfect, right on time. It gets very crowded, so maybe come on off times. It’s a fabulous place for a panini, salad or burger. Would definitely recommend.

The food is amazing. I have eaten here a few times, and haven't had a bad experience yet. I have celiac and they accommodate me every time. They do not have a specific GF menu, but are well versed in this diet. My son and husband love the Thai Mussels - hand's down their favorite. I definitely recommend reservations.

My family took my husband and myself out for our birthdays to this charming elegant restaurant. I am gluten free (not celiac, just sensitivity) and the waiter went out of his way to make sure that I had the most delicious appetizer of Persian meatballs and wonderful dips. My entree which was lamb skewers were soft and tender. The "green" rice was extremely tasty. Any request was met with kindness.
We were even served a complimentary bottle of champagne.
This is officially my new favorite restaurant.

Okaru is the BEST new restaurant in Roslyn with the BEST gluten free options!! Chef Marc Spitzer is incredible and made such an effort to be accommodating. Almost the entire menu is gluten free/can be made gluten free and everything is delicious. We had miso soup, salad with sesame ginger dressing, spicy tuna crispy rice, miso cod, sushi rolls, crispy cauliflower, miso eggplant and crispy brussels. RUN DON’T WALK!!!!!!
