Long wait, service was bad, food was cold. Took forever to even get a few hushpuppies. Had trouble getting silverware. Got the pot roast special but it would have been nice to at least warm it. Claims gluten-free options but few selections for my wife.
Get ready for amazing pizza that still tastes great reheated, plus fresh salads that add a perfect crunch to your meal!

Everytime we come to Emerald Isle we call Lazzaras about 30 minutes before the bridge. We pick up a works and a gluten free for my wife. We eat pizza while unloading and for breakfast lunch next day before worrying about groceries. Taste great even reheated. Wife says best GF anywhere

By far my favorite restaurant in EI! The food, atmosphere and the service are seriously impeccable. Special shout out to rockstar server Ashley! Her knowledge of gluten-friendly menu items and her overall understanding of my allergy was so deeply appreciated.

First time at Snapperz since we've been vacationing in the area 20+ years. Menu was full of choices both for the sea-loving person and for those, like me, not all about seafood. I had a grilled chicken salad. It was full and delicious. Other plates were fish, cheeseburger, homemade chips, and wings. Very delicious food! Some foods can be made gluten free. The prices seemed a tad higher than what I expected however, the atmosphere was nice, service excellent, and food was great! The weather didn't cooperate for outside seating tonight, but it looked very inviting. Maybe next time!
I went here with my family while on vacation. The kids sat at one table and adults at another.
My table ordered calamari as an appetizer. Everyone else raved about it. I have Celiac Disease so I must eat gluten free. They have a separate gluten free menu with several options available. I had the prime rib with baked potato. It was pretty tasty. The salad was also tasty, just make sure to get it without croutons and croissant if eating GF. The others at my table had seared tuna and fried shrimp entrees, which they seemed to really enjoy. We didn't get dessert.
Our waitress was busy but never let our glasses get empty. She was well-versed on gluten free dietary needs.
Expect a fantastic veggie sandwich that rivals Hawaii's best, along with rave reviews about the overall experience.

Beware the hash brown casserole - which by all thoughts should be gluten free - BUT it's NOT! Every review said the casserole was great - it was awful. A strange mix between mash potatoes, breading, chunks of potatoes - served in an ice cream scoop portion. Couldn't even finish it. Very expensive, very little food - $80 for 5 people who didn't order much - left hungry. No need to tip since they don't serve you nor do they clean up or check on how things are going but when you check out - the machine automatically pops up for you to leave a tip. Will never eat here again.
Our family loved this place!! Great selection of fresh bagels. Nice, friendly staff. Loved they helped me with a gluten free alternative. Look forward to visiting them on our next trip to EI!
Clearly marked gluten free options, which I have to have due to Celiac Disease. I got a double scoop bowl of a peanut butter variety and moose tracks. I haven't had moose tracks since my diagnosis and was so happy! Plus when I mentioned my dietary needs, the young worker went in the back and got mine from new containers to prevent cross contamination. We'll be back!

Visited Surf's Up to grab a quick lunch after spending time at the pier. Glad we decided to give it a go, as we discovered that they have the BEST peel-n-eat shrimp on Emerald Isle.
No visit to Emerald Isle is complete without getting some fresh Atlantic shrimp. Go to the beach and watch the boats fish them up all day - then do yourself a favor and go try them the way Surf's Up serves them up. You won't be disappointed.
We had two small children, and a gluten allergy in our party, and Surf's Up worked great for everyone. Kid's menu has the usual fare, including chicken tenders, a burger, fries, etc. Gluten sensitive items included several different shrimp variations, their Carolina BBQ pulled pork, and their fries. The regular menu included fried pickles and calamari, both of which we're fried crisp, not soggy. Everything was excellent for what amounts to pub food.
There was a short wait when we were there, but the front of house was efficient and we were seated about 10 minutes quicker than we were told we'd be. Service was friendly and very attentive. Overall, the cost wasn't too bad for fresh seafood that's all locally sourced, either. Definitely planning to go back the next time we're on the island.
Parking is shared with the Bogue Inlet Pier, so it's convenient to take them both in, at the same time.
