Thatcher’s Coffee is such a great spot to work from—plenty of space, a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and the vibes are immaculate. It strikes that perfect balance between cozy and modern. One of my favorite things about this place is how many gluten-free options they offer. It makes grabbing a snack or meal so much easier (and tastier!) without having to stress. Between the great coffee, the friendly staff, and the relaxing environment, this place has definitely become one of my go-to work cafés.

Cecilia is specializes in brunch, Mexican cuisine, and breakfast dishes, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The ambiance is cozy, but some diners feel it’s not ideal for a romantic dinner. Popular dishes include Eggs Benedict with Beet-Cured Steelhead Lox, Biscuits and Gravy with Bacon and Eggs, and Tres Leches French Toast and seafood omelette, shrimp and grits, chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, Dutch baby pancake, and their signature doughnuts with berry compote as standouts. The cocktails, including Bloody Marys and creative mixes like the “Walk of Shame,” receive strong compliments. The restaurant features a modern French countryside-inspired decor that is cozy and trendy, creating a pleasant atmosphere for special occasions or casual dining. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and providing excellent service, often going the extra mile with personalized touches such as handwritten birthday notes and complimentary treats. Cecilia also offers gluten-free options, though without gluten-free bread.

We were in the area and decided to try them based on some great reviews- especially of their knowledge of gluten free cooking. Their new menus didn't have the gluten free labeling like their online menu did, so we asked. We were told the coconut shrimp was gf, so we ordered that. Our waitress came back out shortly after informing us they were actually not gf, but the crab puffs were, so we ordered those. They came out (along with the tofu fries which were good), and I had a gut feeling they weren't gf. I looked online and they weren't labeled gf and even said they used immigration crab, which is not gf. I'm so glad I was skeptical. I saved myself from days of being sick and in pain had I eaten them. In addition, the pad thai came out with ingredients not listed on the menu, so I had to stop eating that after only a few bites due to some other sensitivities. My partner said his food was good, so as a normal restaurant, they might be fine; however, as a place for people who have food allergies or sensitivities (especially Celiac), I do not recommend them at all.

Red Robin is good at gluten free. I wish they had a vegan burger on the menu but getting an Impossible burger without cheese works.
