I recently stayed at the Hillbrook Inn for the first time and had many issues with the room, and a few other inconveniences. Beginning with the positives, the Inn is very quiet and has lush greenery. I was greeted very warmly by Julie who was very friendly and welcoming. The popcorn choice was a nice touch. Upon going to my room, having a private entrance was nice, and the AC worked very well, a little too powerful for a small room. I got settled in, and started to notice all of the flaws; photos attached. The first thing I noticed was the bedspread had a yellow stain on it. I took it off the bed. The room was extremely cold set at 68 degrees. I mentioned to Julie that I needed to turn down the ac and requested a blanket. She informed me that I can’t turn it down too much or it will shut off the main unit. She got me a comforter but had to search hard for one. Blankets, and bed coverings should be found easily by the staff and this is a problem for them when they have to run around to accommodate a guest. No fault of Julie’s, but the owners who need to keep a closet of certain items available. I went to turn the fan on, and it was covered in dust and a web. I looked out the windows and the inside were covered in several Cobb webs, and dead bugs. Having a coffee machine in the room would have been a nice touch except it was very filthy. I went to the bathroom and noticed the light bulb was also covered with dust, and the light fixture was rusted. The cold water spout was cracked and part of it was missing. I sat down on the couch and dust went everywhere. I looked down at the rug and it too wasn’t cleaned well. I was really looking forward to eating breakfast on the balcony, and sitting out there to enjoy the view, but the two small seats were covered in green pollen, and webs. The stairs and landing has major paint chipping. It’s not exactly private since the staff can see you on your balcony through their window. I felt frustrated knowing I booked this room because of the balcony. I followed the instructions to turn the tv on, and couldn’t get it to work after 15 min. then gave up. I went to the desk and then walked around but couldn’t find anyone to help me possibly get a new room. Before I had checked in, I received a text from guest services asking me what I wanted for breakfast with a menu. I choose the macchiato coffee, (which I was told they didn’t have the machine), then I asked for a gluten free waffle, and I was told that they can only do gluten free toast. This was another let down because when I made my reservation months ago, they had called me to say there are many gluten free options. I also received a phone call months ago telling me that the dining room was booked and I couldn’t have dinner. So basically I can’t get the breakfast I want, and have to get dinner elsewhere. I had booked a spa appointment, and Angie did a wonderful job. I was under the impression I was getting a massage but it was a purifying back treatment. She was able to accommodate me and that was nice of her. When picking up my breakfast, it was already waiting for me on the desk. I wondered why they didn’t call me to say that it’s ready. She asked me to sign the receipt and it stated a different order than mine. I had to look in the bag to check. The eggs were really greasy but the potatoes were nice. The toast wasn’t gluten free though. The girl that checked me out had zero personality and all she said was hi and bye. She never asked me how my stay was. I was really let down by the lack of communication that most establishments routinely do. This tells me that they don’t care, and haven’t trained their staff to ask the right questions. The cleaning routine in the rooms needs to be held to a much higher standard. Even with all of these issues it still would be a place I might consider, if they make the right changes, offer me some type of compensation for all of these issues, and care about customer satisfaction. This place has the potential to be greater if they take the time to go through and clean and make changes thoroughly.

Blaze pizzas prices are •very• comparable to other build your own pizza chains. I would also consider the prices to be comparable with our “build your own___” chains. What I like about blaze is the 3 crust options besides the original recipe! Gluten free, cauliflower, and keto. The salad options are great too!!! We stopped in for National Pie Day -which blaze pizza honors every year- the workers were killing it. We got in and our pizzas done in under 20 minutes. We had 5 pizzas to order and cook. So well done on such a busy day!! Side note: This blaze pizza is always clean- and we’ll stocked. On a busy day like today we still had a great experience! Well done blaze pizza employees!

Thank you Jersey Mikes! I have a gluten intolerance problem, so I asked for your gluten free sub. Your entire staff changed gloves and got clean knives out so not to cross contaminate anything. I really appreciate that extra step! And to make things better, your sub was amazing ❤

Cute, delicious, cheap, and friendly! Had great options for gluten free and dairy free dining. The house-made tortilla chips were amazing, the hot salsa had some nice kick, and the street tacos made for a great lunch. Thanks for a great pre - hike feast!

Such a cute perfect gem of a place! I’m gluten free and the owner had the server bring out hummus with veggies for just me, while everyone else got pita and hummus…that’s extremely thoughtful and was delicious! Only didn’t give five stars due to the lack of server knowledge, but stuff happens, and that does not matter cause the food/drinks are AMAZING!!! THANK YOU! PLS CHECK OUT IT OUT! 😍

I’ve been here several times for dinner and it is always great food and good service, even when they’re “in the weeds” they are quick to let you know what’s happening and suggest options for a quicker choice or they have zazzed up what might have been delayed. It’s not fast food, it’s good food in a busy place that’s always without fail, worth the wait. Soak in the atmosphere, people watch from the window or just relax and enjoy the people you’re with and take time to taste all the incredible flavors in each meal. I love it here. I’ve had several things that aren’t listed below and weren’t gluten free. Everything has been unique and very delicious.

Had brunch here and the huevos rancheros were outstanding!!! Super friendly people and an extensive menu with options for everyone. They even offer gluten free bread for the sandwiches.

Best coffee in the area!! Lots of options for decaf coffee drinkers as well as dairy free. I have a specific diet I follow and this place makes sure I don't get anything that I would react too. They have Gluten free and keto items as well. Everything here is 😍

We love eating at Royalicious! We love to pair up a trip with a stop at Harper Ferry. We have tried many of their breakfast and lunch options and have never been disappointed. Plus, the wall of pastries and desserts are so tempting and delicious. Today we stopped by for lunch with my mother in law who is gluten-free and they made her sandwich over a bed of lettuce and it was just as tasty! Definitely stop by if you're in the area looking for a tasty meal or treat!
