If you’re already a fan of Lab à Mémé at Marché de l’Ouest—whether for dine-in or takeout— you have to try their catering service for your next family gathering or professional event. Honestly, it’s a hidden gem you’ll want to keep coming back to. Selina puts so much care into everything she makes, and it really shows.
We worked together to create custom menus for my guests (including omnivores, vegans, and gluten-free eaters), and everyone loooooved the food—every single time.
Some of the highlights: exotic fruit platters, nurunji, chocolate truffles, matcha drizzles, beef or tofu kimbaps, chicken skewers… just to name a few.
Each event was a breeze to plan—super easy communication, personalized menus, beautifully presented dishes, thoughtful little details, and honestly, prices that are hard to beat.
Check out the photos for a glimpse of what she does. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough—try it once, and you'll be hooked!

Gluten free be forewarned: box does not indicate size of pizza.
After ordering a gluten free Hot Pep pizza & a Cesar salad for pickup, we were impressed by the size of the box upon receiving it.
Once we arrived home and opened the box we were surprised and disappointed to say the least. I understand that gluten free crust is normally smaller due to it being harder to make and needs to be frozen, but the misleading box size left a sour taste in our mouths… pun intended.
Charging extra for gluten free is also standard across restaurants but I can’t help but feel overcharged a bit when the pizza was close to $45 for what it was. Especially since you’re saving a substantial amount of produce just from how small it is.
If we are to put that behind us and focus solely on flavour, it was good, but nothing to write home about. The sauce was nice, on the sweeter side, and the cheese was normal. The pepperoni were not cooked through enough to where they made the “cup”. The peperoncino and hot honey were very sparse for a Hot Pep pizza.
It was not bad by any means, we were just hoping for more.
The Cesar salad was lacklustre, completely average iceberg lettuce and dressing. Nothing special about it to make it their own. Once again, fine but nothing to write home about.
One extreme positive was the service and atmosphere, I don’t want this review to sound like a bash, we just had an underwhelming experience regarding the food. It doesn’t mean the place is bad.
The hostess and owner (Bernie’s son) are very nice and bring a positive energy to the place, and the design of the restaurant is very inviting and lovely. I would strongly recommend it to dine in!
To conclude, I would say give it a go, but don’t expect to be blown away with the order we got. Maybe if I got a non gluten free pizza it would be life changing!
