We visited The Porch House for a Mother’s Day lunch. We’ve been before and the service has always been good but on this occasion it was below par.
The waiter told us on arrival that ‘there isn’t much food left’ and then listed off all the items on the menu that weren’t available! When I sympathised and suggested it had been a busy Mother’s Day service he said ‘no, it’s like this every week’!
I had the gluten free burger which was served on a rock hard bun that I suspect had been languishing in the bottom of the GF cupboard for some time.
For balance, the ambience is always good and the staff are very friendly and engaging. We’ll go back, but they do need to sort out their food stocks for busy Sundays.
