Lovely place, wasn't as expected! Lovely inside, outside didn't do it justice, food was amazing, 6 of us and were all happy with our meals. One gluten free, best menu options I've ever had, so happy. Great staff, service top notch, amaz8ng atmosphere, pretty decor, nice ambience. No complaints at all, would highly recommend 👌🏼 beef cheeks, pork belly, so good.

We had our Wedding at The White Swan on 5th April 2025. The day was perfect and both me and my wife can honestly say it was the best day of our lives. The White Swan was a beautiful backdrop to an amazing and special day and all of the staff were so helpful, kind and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We had a smaller guest list than the typical wedding but this was not a problem at any stage of the process and on the day, though there was only about 20 people, the space still felt full of love. As a queer couple, we were somewhat anxious about finding the right venue for us, but we didn’t need to worry at all, The White Swan were so amazing and respectful. Prior to the wedding, we had filled out a wedding plan that was provided by The White Swan and met with them several times to go through the plan. My wife is very particular and went into a lot of detail on the planning form, this meant that on the day, everything was sorted and carried out perfectly so that we didn’t need to worry about anything. The catering was fantastic and they were able to accommodate for Gluten free and Vegan diets as well as generally fussy eaters. All of our guests have since remarked on how well fed they were throughout the day. The venue itself is a beautiful old building that was the perfect setting with lots of places to take amazing photographs. Gemma, who was our wedding coordinator at the venue, was particularly fantastic, from bringing us complimentary champagne in the morning to always being on hand throughout the day. I would definitely recommend The White Swan as a wedding venue, particularly to those with a smaller guest list than the traditional wedding. Honestly, we can’t thank the team at The White Swan enough for making sure the most special day of our lives was perfect. -Mx and Mrs Picken

Gluten-free options were very lacking at lunchtime and the only thing my wife could have was tomato soup. After we ordered our food, we were told they have run out of soup. Therefore we cancelled our order, paid for the drinks and walked out.

Booked Breakfast here as part of our stay at Swan’s Nest Hotel. Not great for Coeliacs. No sausages if you want an English Breakfast (most decent sausages are gluten free so unsure why that’s so difficult). My Eggs Hollandaise arrived cold so I waited for another to be served whilst my husband finished his Veggie Breakfast (no veggie sausages either). Second time around was better but not much help / reassurance from waitress when I tried to explain my medical dietary needs. Save your money and have breakfast in town.

The only reason I'm giving this an overall 2 star review rather than 5 is because dogs are allowed inside the restaurant and I, as many thousands of others, have a dog allergy. Even with my inhalers, I had to immediately leave my food & wait outside while my husband hurried to finish & pay. Also, it seems quite unhygienic to allow large furry dogs in the same place as an open kitchen area. I love dogs but can't breathe in an enclosed space with them. We were sure we'd be safe in a restaurant as opposed to a pub or cafe and the fact that they do have outdoor seating, )so someone can eat alongside their dog without worry of causing an allergic reaction to another human) was encouraging. With all the worry about dietary allergies; dairy, gluten, nut. ... I can't believe there is no concern for the thousands of us who have pet allergies. I realize this is a dogs world but when the human has to wait outside so the canine can sit inside, do we not have the right to eat out?

Went in to get a 2 pizza deal, usually I order online however as I was already nearby I thought I’d place an order in-store. I am Coeliac so needed one Gluten-Free and one regular pizza on their 2 pizza deal. The ill informed and rather clueless girl on the counter then proceeded to say that Gluten-Free pizza is not part of any deal they offer. Which is discrimination based on my position disability. Eventually left even after advising we could order it online because she clearly couldn’t grasp what was being said. 1/10, train your staff properly, or get rid of them.
