Anthony was an amazing server ! Checking in on us but not interrupting us at the same time ! I am celiac and was able to eat at this restaurant, the staff made me feel heard about my allergy and reassured me with the measures they would take to make my meal safe. Great place to go! Surf is truly a gem in downtown Whitby. If you’re looking for a place to grab some excellent cocktails and amazing SoCal style small plates and shareables, this is where you wanna be.
They do a feature cocktail each week to keep it fresh (which you can find on their Insta) and everything they serve is made in-house (plus, their entire menu is 100% gluten free).
The staff are all super friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to the drinks and food. If you come by in the summer they have a really beautiful back patio, too.
All around just a really amazing place that you should check out if you’re looking for a nice cocktail bar/restaurant in Durham.

Nice little coffee shop here, has a light food menu as well as coffee and tea cafe beverages. I had a London fog and it was perfect, and the gluten free Turkey BELT sandwich. The music was a bit louder than I like but the food is worth the trip.
