This was such an exciting discovery. I have had GF and non GF bahn mi, being gluten intolerant and hedonistic, and this still topped them all. Bread was crunchy and flavoursome, absolutely indistinguishable, and the pork filling was divine. The treats also topped many normal ones I've tried (cinnamon bun was to die for). 11/10!

As someone who is gluten free, this place was on my list to visit ASAP upon arriving in Hanoi. It did not disappoint! The gluten free pizza base was crispy and tasty, with a perfect amount and balance of toppings on the vegetarian version. Gluten eaters really enjoyed their half Cheese/half Hawaiian and popcorn chicken. As we were leaving to return to our hotel an enormous rain storm arrived - the staff were so generous and offered for us to use their umbrellas - above and beyond ❤️

Great place, def worth a visit - although in a 5 star hotel, don’t let that distract. GLUTEN FREE -and COELIACS - this is the restaurant for you - there is a seperate menu, which is nearly half the normal menu. Highly recommend

We went around 3pm. The guy who helped us was very cool and spoke good English. We sat on the second floor overlooking the lake. We ordered quesadillas and they were very delicious. They have vegan, gluten free and non-dairy options :)

I have coeliac disease and showed them my gluten free travel card explaining what I can NOT eat. The staff didn't take it seriously and gave me food that contained gluten though I asked several times about the sauces and the sushi rice. I got suspicious when she brought us miso soup which is normally never gluten free. To make it worse: we found out that they have a dedicated list with gluten free items and the ones to avoid for the staff to look at. And the one who served us didn't bother to check the list. Otherwise the food and place was nice and with a competent staff member I would not spend the rest of my holiday severely sick.

Famous place for tourist tours, you can also enter. The food is good and the menu is marked for vegetarian and gluten-free diets. The atmosphere is a bit noisy due to the tourist tour atmosphere it has. The prices are expensive compared to normal, but it is compensated with a careful kitchen

We had the Banh xeo (meat version) and it didn't disappoint.. was so fresh and delish! We then had the traditional Vietnamese yoghurt cake for dessert and yum!! Would never have tried it normally and so glad we did! Everything we had was GF. Dang was our waiter and he was excellent.. checked all items/ingredients with chef and came back and told us what was ok and what wasn't! Definitely recommend.

We had dinner at Tam Vi and it was delicious!! The dishes are simple which we love but the flavours are still so tasty! We had the crispy 5 spice duck, beef & bamboo shoots, cabbage with tomato and rice. And honestly the cabbage with tomato was so tasty it was our favourite dish of the night!! And the pricing is so good for the meals! We paid alot more in other restaurants in Hanoi. I'm surprised the reviews for this place aren't higher but I read many saying they thought it was too simple or dishes lacked flavour but I think that depends on the person. We love simple food done well! Which Tam vi do! 👏 We love that they don't use MSG in their cooking it's a reason we chose to come here and it's easy to est gluten free. Its humble, authentic Vietnamese cooking. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!! 🙏

Very nice place. We went there twice and the food was amazing. The owners are also extremely kind and welcoming. Great for celiacs aswell (they knew exactly what gluten is, had glutenfree soy sauce and made sure that everything was gluten free). Big recommendation!!

Loveliest hole in the wall spot !! Beef pho was so tasty and the women who owns the place was so sweet. I showed her my Vietnamese gluten free coeliac card and she read it all and understood and showed me what i could eat. Highly recommend, overshadowed by the busy bahn mi 25 next door - but this place deserves hype, give this spot a try!!

I would highly recommend Chao Ban as a celiac (gluten free) eater in Vietnam! They were across the terms and were able to point out which items on the menu I couldn’t eat! Which were so few, only the sautéed mushrooms, banana dessert, soft tofu and ribs. All the food was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone, celiac or not!

Great restaurant overall, good experience. We got complementary tea and the food tasted amazing. They understood my celiac desease and gave me gluten free food. They did charge us for the service, even tho food was pricier than other local places, but good for families and people with sensitive stomachs

While looking for a gluten free option other than Pho we have found this restaurant in a layed back corner of Hanoi and had a good and solid experience. Being there around 2pm so not in the peak time we experienced a fast service at the first time. When we came back at lunch time the service for the main dish needed around 30 minutes which was ok for us. My advice: Since they have new staff here and then be sure to double check what you have ordered with the waiter, just to be sure. We had a misunderstood order and the supervising manager helped us out in a very comfortable and professional manner. Therefore, altogether we rate the place with 5 stars.
