The lady who served me was nice. The fish was tasty, just two things. Ask customers if they’re eating in or taking away, I still gave 4 stars because she offered me to sit outside for free which was nice. Also, it’s nice to offer customers salt and vinegar if they want it on, my fish was wrapped very quickly and I didn’t want to be a bother and ask her to unwrap it and season it. Other than that I think the fish is worth the price given it was made fresh to order and was actually one of the best fish I’ve had! I’ll definitely give it another try. Edit ** I appreciate your response, and want to be very clear that it was my first time attending you restaurant and I saw signs about gluten free options but nothing regarding seating stood out to me?? I was not asked if I was eating in or taking away when I arrived. And I wasn’t offered salt and vinegar. I understand that maybe you want to defend your business but please don’t gaslight me in the process.

Came here for lunch today and had the best experiance ever , the fish was cooked lovely and fresh , the chips where amazing crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. My friend was gluten free and we was surprised on how many gluten free options they do . They also do gluten free ketchup , mayonnaise, tar tar sauce and vinger !!!! The service was fast and the girls was lovely making sure we get exactly what we wanted and explained everything in detail to us about the food and gluten free sauces So if you are ever in southend on sea looking for the best stop for a deliciouse fish and chips come to alfies fish and chips and you will not be dissapointed

Great food, gluten-free options, and the staff are very nice. Never get an order wrong. Never a long wait despite the fact they are always really busy. Bit more expensive than some fish and chip shops, but I've tried a few others locally, and they don't compare. Best curry sauce!

A lovely little cafe in Leigh on sea. I am gluten free (gluten allergy - staff were knowledgeable and knew about shared fryers etc) and had lots of options without missing out on much (only change to English breakfast was to swap sausage out). A lovely atmosphere and if you have a dog it is a perfect spot! Look forward to returning in summer

Lemon Witch was an incredible experience. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. Lemon Witch has a lot of choices for dietary needs like Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan. The food was absolutely delicious. The pricing was very reasonable and they even have some fun merchandise options such as stickers, pins, tote bags and t-shirts. I would highly recommend giving them a visit.

Great Easter Monday at the Saxon king with all the family (well most of us) made even better by the great service from Vicky. She was very much on the ball as I'd already marked on the booking there was nut allergies on the table as well as gluten. Everything was made to suit the recipient. Food was hot and tasty. Atmosphere and surroundings were lovely.

Wow !! Just back from a spectacular meal here. Hidden gem. Best food we’ve ever eaten in the area. Especially for me as a coeliac, the gluten free options were something else. Will be our new go to. Very regularly!! Great decor and ambience. Incredible food. Fantastic staff. Call out to our waitress Sally who was extra special 😘

This was my second visit to Leigh Bistro. I have Coeliac disease and I find it so very difficult to be able to trust restaurants. The condition and the cross contamination issues are very serious and I can be ill and out of action for days, if glutened. Our lovely waitress not only remembered me from my last visit but put me at ease and explained what would and wouldn't be safe for me to eat regarding gluten and cross contamination. I had the delicious starter of pan fried asparagus and then a fabulous steak with saute potatoes as the chips were cooked with gluten items so therefore, not suitable for me. My meal was delicious and thank you so much for taking my condition seriously and for keeping me safe. It is much appreciated and I feel absolutely fine after eating at your restaurant. I hope to not leave it as long before I return again.

Delicious gluten free battered cod, so light and crispy! Took my mum here who had the same as the recommendation of the waitress, even though my mum is not gluten free, I am. Large portion too! Would definitely return! Staff super friendly too! The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was a nice treat to end with!

We have a 3 year old who is Gluten Free, some of the biggest restaurants seem to forget that children are celiac too and can only provide meals no three year old would want to eat. However, she was able to have a Pepperoni Pizza and chips, garlic bread, sausages… the list goes on. She actually finished a meal, smiled, felt included. The serious attitude towards GF guests was noted, even showing us the ingredients in the pepperoni so we knew it was safe. I cannot rate this enough, for making our little one feel included and the food was fantastic!
