Being celiac, I blame myself for believing that a Mac and Cheese place that offers a gluten free alternative could be for real. Don’t be fooled by their ‘GF available’ option, either the sauce was made with flour, or they reused the water to boil the pasta, but I had the worst gluten experience of my life. It was way beyond cross contamination. I agree that the food was delicious, but I would not risk it being are celiac or gluten intolerant, I regretted it deeply. The restaurant agreed to reimburse my plate and ‘look at the kitchen footage’… one week later and I am still waiting for the refund and never heard about their conclusion. I would not brand this place GF unless they change to a dedicated kitchen.
To end the night on an even lower note, although not the restaurant’s fault, our car got broken into, parked right outside the restaurant.
A great breakfast place I've been going to for decades. Had lemon curd pancakes, so good! Others had catfish and eggs and lox scramble. We left nothing behind! They have excellent gluten free toast.
Daaaaaaamnnnnn!!!! Can't wait to come back, so so good.
Lucy was the best waitress of all time, she hooked my wife up with some vanilla bean sweetness for her coffee.
Good mix of vegan and gluten free options.
Not pleased with the French Toast at all. It was below average and the custard seemed extremely light. The bread seemed barely toasted. The banana was not fresh or near fresh. It's difficult to believe this meal was passed off to someone. I should have ordered the the gluten free french toast instead; it's typically consistent. Oakland's restaurant industry has become weaker and weaker while the food prices become more expensive; it's so sad and disheartening.
An absolutely amazing experience tonight. Came out with friends for some food, and had a great time chatting while watching pokemon and eating amazing burgers. A friend can't eat gluten and they had gluten-free options for them. Both me and them got the smokehouse burger which was amazing. At first I was skeptical of the price but wow. The amount of food and how filling it was was absolutely worth it. Also it was delicious. The other burgers chosen looked good too. One of my friends are a walk away so they will be back with their partner!
The best food I had while in Oakland "bar" none. I'm just shocked that I found a place with legitimate Gluten Free options. Still shocked. Fish Tacos better than San Diego. Best grilled Brussels ever. Evening bartender works his butt off. You better tip this guy.
Being in the fishbowl of a back room made it feel slightly like our birthday party was on display to the other patrons, but the food was fantastic, service was prompt, friendly, and went above and beyond for one member of the party with gluten intolerance. Well done!
These sandwiches are clearly made with TLC! I’m also gluten free and they were kind enough to make me a lettuce wrap sandwich. Service was great and you can tell that the people who work here take a lot of pride in what they do! 🫶🏼
Really great place that just opened up! They had tons of vegan options (we loved the bhel puri and chhole bhature) as well as gluten free options, too! The menu has a good mix of chaat and curry options. Good flavorful food with a good spice level. Would recommend!
Food meets all me needs, gluten free, dairy free, no refined sugar and hella protein. It seriously has so much flavor it’s the most smackin rice bowl I’ve had and the portion big, I love my leftovers. Green smoothie is fire too!
We stubbled upon this place by accident. Fresh and homemade with healthy ingredients. Clean atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating options. They have a take out service that seems to be very popular. We ordered the Seafood Stew, Gluten Free Fried Chicken, and a Grass Fed Burger. All were nice portions. They have to-go salads, desserts and other menu items in their front case for walk-in take out.
There is parking in their side lot and on the street.
