Without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant that I have ever eaten at. The service is INCREDIBLE, the food is unbelievable and so so beautiful. One of the best restaurants experiences that I have ever had. If you were to go to one restaurant in Queenstown, this is it!! They are also very accommodating to dietary restrictions. One of us are gluten free and they were able to fully accommodate this. Dessert options are also amazing

Excellent option Celiacs friendly.
I was visiting Wanaka, and I asked in all the restaurants around with gluten free option, if they were safe for celiacs. The answer was always the same "There is cross contamination and I can’t make sure you that it is 100% gluten free"
A little tired of the same thing, I walked to a very nice place where there were different food trucks, a small creek, and plenty of place and grass to sit. My partner asked for celiacs option in this place "Coco Hut. South East Asian Food" and happily, they told me that they could make Pad Thai 100% gluten free version, safe for celiacs. In addition to assuring me that all utensils and pans would be very clean for me, no cross contamination. My Pad Thai was delicious, plus I had a gluten free kombucha. All very well declared 100% gluten free. The concern and knowledge about celiac disease was very noticeable and much appreciated. I enjoyed it, didn't get sick, safe place!❤️ Highly recommended. Just go, mention, and enjoy. Compliments to the Chef and the girl who attended me and understood my need!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolute amazing food! Highly recommend! And their service was amazing also ,waited to ask when we arrived if our gluten free dish was okay to have peanuts before he put them on. Definitely the best food and service around
With so many options in the area skip this place. They were rude, and served us gluten after a direct conversation about a gluten allergy. I try to keep most reviews positive, and the scallop on the sashimi plate was good, but the positivity ends there.
Spent the day recovering from being served non-gluten free soy sauce after specifically having the conversation with the server about a gluten allergy. If you are allergic to gluten, skip this place.
We knew the place closed at 3pm and rushed to get there by 2:40 pm for just a snack and a couple drinks. We were allowed to order, and requested that everything be gluten free. When the food arrived we tried to order a second drink but we were told the kitchen was closed.....it was about 2:55 pm at this point and we only tried to order drinks....again were told the kitchen was closed. The waitress was rude ... The food was below average for the price they are charging. The fish was average at best, and the rice was not sushi rice (just average white rice)
There is really no reason to go to this place with a street full of great options where the people are super friendly.

Lovely meal, lovely vibe. Food was very good though, lots of gluten free options, and vegetarian. Well priced. My only irks; Having a couple of larger tables that aren't accessible at the far end by the waiting staff is a bit frustrating as diners are expected to pass along meals and empty plates back and forth. Also would have been better if meals for groups all came at once. Minor things they can work on. Overall, very nice.
4.5/5
I had popcorn cauliflower on rice, and my wife had a tofu bibimbap. They were both very filling, tasty, and probably some of the most generous portions you can get for that size at a restaurant in Dunedin. I don't generally adore cauliflower, but when it's done right, especially this way, it's amazing. Staff are very friendly.
The menu is quite limited, and there was only one option that was both gluten-free and vegetarian, but it was impressive enough to come back for. I'm assuming the limited menu helps keep the prices and wait times down.
The messy-ish seating area can be explained by us arriving in the middle of lunch, but the windows and the footpath sign need a good clean.
