I recently visited Grill’d, hoping for a satisfying burger experience, but left disappointed. The food was noticeably dry, particularly the beef patty, which lacked juiciness and felt overcooked. The gluten free bun didn’t help either—it was stale and crumbled easily, making the meal less enjoyable. It was dense, dry, and had an off-putting aftertaste, far from the quality I’d expect from a chain that promotes healthier options.
To make matters worse, the staff didn’t inform me that certain items I ordered were unavailable until my food was served, which was frustrating as I’d chosen this option for a reason. The lack of communication to us felt careless and added to the overall poor experience. You can tell that the communication between staff is also lacking and they weren’t trained well, as they where cleaning the restaurant while my burger was left on the counter to get cold. When we finally got the burger, we had to ask for our drinks which we ordered before that.
While the restaurant was clean and the service was quick, these issues with the food quality and lack of transparency overshadowed any positives. Grill’d needs to improve its gluten-free offerings and ensure better communication with customers. I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
They gave our money back on the burger which was good in the end
I had the most delicious falafel vegan bowl (and gluten-free) here! Fresh and tasty👌🏾They also have some other great vegan and GF menu options. I highly recommend it!
I always love the wedge. The staff as super friendly and accommodating. We were going to have a pram with us and my friend was gluten free and they couldn’t have been more lovely and adaptable. The food is always delicious and I highly recommend the Brussel sprout dish.
Their banquet/set menu is amazing value and they have a few options. We had the $65pp banquet menu which includes: Paella, 2 Tapas per person, Garlic Bread, Salad, and Unlimited Sangria & Soft Drinks for 1.5 hours. Really delicious paella, the rice was so flavourful & the seafood on was perfectly cooked. And very tasty tapas: we had:
Cambas al ajillo (classic garlic prawns), Almejas al vina blanco (pipis cooked in white wine sauce), Croquetas de jamón (Spanish cured ham croquettes) & Berenjena a la plancha (grilled eggplant w/honey, balsamic glaze & candy walnuts).
Love that they have plenty of gluten free, vegetarian & vegan options. The venue is perfect for either intimate dining, group dining & celebrations. And there’s Live Flamenco Dance every Friday & Saturday nights around 8pm. Great service as well.
Delicious, great little gem in Glebe. Lovely little spot, Halloumi and lamb shoulder are excellent and can definitely recommend. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who were very accommodating with gluten free options for my wife who is Coeliac
Do not recommend for coeliacs. They did try to make it gluten free so if GF is a life style choice or someone can tolerate small amounts should be ok. But NOT ok for coeliacs. They use the same toaster for both normal gluten containing products and GF. They did try and use separate utensils, chopping boards, butter... but they toasted the bun on the same tray. My husband reacted badly that night. They did try, but for those who are assessing risk as a coeliac it's not safe.
Amazed by the gluten free chicken. It was crumbed in gluten free crumb, completely exceeded our expectations. Well done, and thanks for making the effort with good GF chicken
Best coffe ever. They have coffee till late night 10pm or 11pm in weekends. Original churros snack pack, my favourite 😻 . Choco flourless so good for celiac chocolate lovers (it’s gluten free).
And the best drinking mocha dark chocolate with churromisu on the top. It’s like Colombian people use to drink chocolate with cheese! ❤️
And there are many gifts for family too.
If you're looking for a delicious, gluten free friendly night out this is a must.
Dedicated, friendly staff who go out of their way to provide excellent customer service and create an authentic experience for all.
Thank you for a great night.
Vegan (Gluten) pastries at Glebe,
Tasty pastries, go early!
Really delicious and they have gluten free banana bread if you don't want to pay $8-9 for a pastry. Cheaper option so you won't leave empty handed.
Best seats are upstairs.
Outstanding experience at bottomless brunch! Quite possibly the best guacamole we’ve ever had. We enjoyed both the classic and guava margaritas. And the best part was that their entire menu is gluten free! Thanks so much for the excellent service, we will definitely be back
Tried the gluten free pizza here after reading a review or two….. sad to say it was not good at all, awful I would say like all the others. What kind of delusional person would think this tastes good? If gluten free is your thing this place won’t be your happy place. See photo for the pre bought spongey awful base
Attended a Wedding at Bellevue Cottage. Pleasant cottage, nice outlook overlooking the water, city & Pyrmont Bridge. BUT the venue was not organised for the wedding despite the bride & groom dining at the Cottage twice before the wedding & sending numerous emails as well as phone calls to organise & confirm the date, time & dietary requirements of guests. On the day, the wedding planner & the MC helped set up tables & drinks outside while the staff set up the indoor tables. The food: The entree was a salmon or ???. The main meals were either a fish & mushroom pie or a rare steak and no dessert. (Either the dessert was not made or no time to serve & eat it) The wedding cake was distributed as a 'dessert' but we are still waiting for the special gluten free cake that was organised for some of the guests. Maybe as a dinner date the food would be better. The MC had to change the proceedings: several speeches had to be cut along with other planned activities. The bride & groom handled the situation well on the day but are still awaiting an apology & potentially compensation!
We were there for Mother’s Day celebration. They offered Gluten Free option kids meal. Food was nice and the atmosphere was to the point. Architect designed walls were also very pretty.
Beautiful pastry and cake selection. We have tried the takeaway cakes before, which are always lovely. But tonight was dinner, so we gave it a go! Delicious ravioli with pumpkin and burnt sage butter. They give you warm bread to soak up the sauce from the pasta. The Gluten Free chocolate cake was very rich but wonderful. Fresh juice was just what we needed to wash it all down. It's often quieter at night time so pro tip: beat the crowds and eat here instead of the busy food court. Great service with a smile. Cheers!
The staff here are so polite & accommodating. Very casual place where you can BYOB & have it chilled in the fridge. Gluten free soy sauce available 🙌 Pet friendly🐶 the Tiger Roll was massive & saucy, I am definitely coming back for it 😍
Had a lovely time at Esca. I had read the reviews, and was a little nervous, but we had a great experience. The manager was very welcoming, even preparing a special gluten-free meal, and the food was good quality and fresh. Perhaps we were just incredibly fortunate, but overall, there was nothing to fault.
I'm from one of the apartments upstairs so I smell the food being cooked and it always smells great. I tried it today, and it *is* great. I like vegetarian, gluten free and I could get this here... really tasty fresh dal is my thing and I got it here. Yay.
Really good fresh produce eatery. Located on the main street in Glebe with street parking (can get busy and the majority street parks, requires a ticket - as a heads up). Staff are very kind and considerate and ensure they keep and prepare food separately and using gluten free foods if you let them know your dietary requirements. Would go again.
