Went here for a casual lunch with the work mates. The pizza was excellent and there is a wide variety of different meal options. If you need it there are even gluten free options for those so inclined. The beer is really good and they have some local craft beer options. Ordering is easy and the service is quick and efficient. Food was all brought out to our table outside without too much of a wait. I would go back there for sure.
I found planning my event with Lillian at Sirens very easy. I simply told her what I was looking for and she sorted it for me. It was extremely well priced and the food was amazing, I especially loved that they didn’t charge any extra for gluten free alternatives. Although when I arrived there was another event taking place in my area, the team was super quick to sort it all out and ensure it didn’t affect my event. I would defiantly recommend sirens for any and all events. :)
the staff are so lovely! what a beautiful experience. came for their bottomless and had such a beautiful time. super thoughtful and attentive to our coeliac as well. highly appreciated and grateful, thank you!
The food and service were absolutely OUTSTANDING. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the entire dining experience even more memorable. Bonus points for the menu having plenty of gluten-free options. I highly recommend the paella and churros—both exceeded my expectations in every way. I’ll definitely be back.
Boy am I glad that we decided to give Bar Beirut a go. The owner is absolutely lovely and it’s clear that this restaurant is the product of love and a deep-seated passion for food. Everything is pure class - the food, the staff, the vibes. Not to mention they were awesome catering for coeliac. For meals of this quality I would honestly expect to be paying a lot more anywhere else. Dish pick of the night would have to be the lamb shank - the owner informed me that it’s his Mum’s recipe too :) Also excellent were the Kofta and the Charred Chicken. Highly recommend, we will be back!
Wow wow wow. What a great experience all round. The food is spectacular and they catered for my gluten allergy seamlessly. The staff were enthusiastic, helpful and very accommodating, very knowledgeable about the food and wines/cocktails. Everything was delicious and the bar has a great relaxed and hip vibe. My new favourite!
A restaurant with good food and ideal portions for sharing with vegetarian and gluten-free options (although on the pizza with anchovies the menu says it's vegetarian haha). The stuffed peppers were salty for my taste, but the rest of the food was very good, with excellent quality and flavor. The staff's service was excellent, always offering us the best recommendations, which was a success. I would definitely return for the food.
As for the atmosphere, it was a bit distracting. The music was so loud that I sometimes couldn't hear the people around me, which caused me significant dysregulation and stress, as I couldn't follow the conversation. On the other hand, after a certain time, the lights would suddenly dim, so much so that between the loud music and the dim lighting, I found it "uncomfortable" 🫠. This is a personal preference and, above all, a warning for neurodivergent and highly sensitive people.
Beautiful clean friendly rooms were warm beds comfortable absolute delight topping it off the breakfast was frigging amazing my wife is gluten & dairy free and they were great in accommodating her needs.
Phenomenal local pub/restaurant that fits loads of people and has a welcoming loud buzzing vibe.
FOOD: 10/10 Fresh, high quality ingredients. Dishes are plated up well and there's a variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes to choose from, with several really healthy options. The salmon was to die for, as were the steamed vegetables it came with.
Very reasonably priced dishes between $12-28 on average.
SERVICE: Super friendly, accommodating staff who are efficient. They made some dietary accommodations and our meals came super quicky.
ACCESSIBILITY: Plenty of on street parking available and the place is wheelchair, pram and walker friendly.
OVERALL: Would definitely come back, when I'm the area. It's ideal for friends gatherings, Birthdays, events and even business meets with some dedicated quieter areas available.
Menus need updating . GF rating is absolutely incorrect now. Got one very sick little coeliac girl here now after eating the chips which are rated GF on the menu. Also please inform your staff. We always went there because they had some GF food on menu. However if you can’t guarantee it take the rating of your menu.
I booked 88MPH for a private function and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The options for the different food and drinks packages were clearly explained and easily customisable so I got exactlywhat I wanted without having to compromise.
the menue had a wide variety with heaps of vegetarian and gluten free options and on the night all the food was delicious.
The staff that worked my event were absolute professional but still fun. They kept all my guest happy and were incredibly accommodating. They deserve all the credit for my party being a night I will never forget. Thank you Max, Issy, Piper, Rory and Maia you are superstars!!
A Must-Visit in Canberra
The Inn at Edgar’s in Ainslie is an absolute must when in Canberra. My only possible complaint is there's almost too much food on the "Feed Me" menu—a classic first-world problem! After attending so often, we have started making our own selections from the a la carte menu to manage the portions that work for us. Every visit leaves me and my friends happy and satisfied, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Culinary Delights
Everything from the menu has been incredibly tasty and well-presented, and I am a huge fan of the seafood options. Although I must admit, I was disappointed when the lamb shoulder—my absolute favourite dish—was taken off the menu. That said, the Wagyu bavette is right up there for quality and taste. The meat is always so tender! A special shout out to Kierain Venue Manager, and Executive Chef Wayne and his talented team for the unforgettable lamb shoulder served on my dad's birthday—it was truly a highlight.
Ambiance and Service
The ambiance is superb, with an upbeat yet not-too-noisy atmosphere. Kierain and the entire team, are always friendly and knowledgeable, offering great insights about the menu. The service is exceptional—the wait staff even know my drink order and have it ready upon arrival. Thanks, team!! They truly pay special attention to every detail, making each visit memorable.
Highlights
**Food Quality:** Indescribably tasty food that caters to dietary requirements with a broad range of gluten-free options.
**Service:** Exceptional service from all staff members.
**Beverages:** A well-selected variety of reasonably priced wines and excellent cocktails.
**Ambiance:** Great atmosphere with good acoustics.
Areas for Improvement
The menu is consistently good, both in flavour and presentation and has been recently updated. Despite my comment about the lamb, it would be great to see this continue to keep things varied. Additionally, it would be fantastic to see more vegetable or vegetarian dishes to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences.
Extra Perks
Don't miss the Wakefield Bar upstairs for a pre- or post-dinner cocktail. It is also a great alternative for more casual dining with cocktails, pizzas, or small eats.As an Ainslie resident, I can confidently say that The Inn and Wakefield’s Bar and Wine Room are the best of the best. Whether you are a local or just visiting Canberra, this place is a must-visit!
Too loud. Too dark. Got our order wrong and very slow service. Good tacos but lost points due to stale shell. Tiny drinks that are 95% ice. Gluten free options available but arnt stated on the menu. I had gluten free which might be why they were stale. I probably wont go back
We were so impressed the first time that we came back for my wife's birthday. She is gluten free and had plenty of options for her. Fabulous food and service. Highly recommended.
Great service, delicious generous portions, fresh vegetables, steak perfectly medium rare. Great value for money and fabulous gluten free pizza. Our new regular eating spot! Great work everyone!
The QT is a nice hotel in Canberra CBD with beautiful views of Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin and the Black Mountain. The room I had was a good size and clean.
And now the not so good things.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows worse. You're provided with two pillows to choose from, firm or soft. Both are way too high to be comfortable. I'm actually in pain and had two sleepless nights.... But the bed linen appeared clean.
Service-wise, I'm not impressed.
Breakfast is fine but don't expect much in the way of gluten free. I was told the gluten-free options were in the other side of the buffet... About 6 to 8 slices of drying, almost stale gluten-free bread. The end. The only means to toast said bread was covered in gluten containing bread crumbs which renders that not an option. Today (Tuesday) there were no scrambled eggs on the buffet. I gave up waiting for the chef to come out of hiding to order some eggs so no eggs for me today.
Yesterday (Monday) was a public holiday so the restaurant was closed, only bar food available I was told. Now the menu for the bar is a simplified version of the restaurant menu. Some of the dishes are marked as gluten free or having a gluten free options to it for the restaurant menu. The bar version of the menu, nothing. I asked the staff about it and was flatly told there was nothing on the menu gluten free. I don't understand what the difference is. If the restaurant can make the same dish gluten-free, why can't the bar?
Then there's the parking. When I first arrived I was charged $8 for less than an hour. I was then charged $60 for two days. I have no problem with the $60, I expected that but the $8?
And finally there's the program they have where for each day you hang a sign on the door to not have your room cleaned you get $10. I did this and nothing. The bar staff didn't seem to know what 8 was talking about when I asked about it. At the bar I had a whisky sour. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them... But $30! Overpriced! A cocktail like a whisky sour shouldn't be more than $15. If you're argument is your using top shelf product them you're butchering the product.
QT has the potential to be a really great 4 star hotel but these need to be addressed.
And the staff member who welcomed me to the hotel, I wish I got her name was lovely and friendly.
Food was yummy but not many options if you are gluten free or for kids. Staff were not accomodating at all, asked if it was possible to get a pizza with ham and cheese for kids as only ham and pineapple and was told strictly no changes to the menu. Same for allergies.
While there were multiple Gluten free items listed on the menu they don't have a Gluten free fryer which unfortunately stops Coeliacs from being able to order almost every Gluten free option which was disappointing.

Great potential, finding their feet and there is room for improvement.
Open entry we were greeted by a very enthusiastic hostess who showed us to the table and talked us through the menu. I was very excited to hear they had gluten free dumplings (if you’re celiac you’ll understand this excitement!)
We browsed the menu after being told what they could/couldn’t accommodate in the dietaries and put in our order shortly after.
A while after taking our order they came back to tell me they couldn’t do the gluten free dumplings after all (Devo!) and we changed our selections.
Then my $11 scallop came out and they said it wasn’t gluten free (what?!) why didn’t they tell us that when 1. They took our order and 2. They came back re the dumplings?!. My partner doesn’t eat scallops so it unfortunately went to waste.
Oysters and sashimi were delicious. The other meals were average.
Throughout the meal our water was topped but - not as we finished the glass, it felt it was with every sip- it became irritating to say the least and we felt our conversation was being interrupted constantly which made it hard to enjoy the night.
In my option it was overpriced for the food we received and I was Devo within the roller coaster of the dietaries which was disappointing.
The service was good but there is lots of room for improvement.
I won’t be going back in a hurry.
Wow - this must be one of the undiscovered gems of Canberra dining. We were there at lunchtime on a Saturday; hardly anyone was there; clearly Canberra doesn't know what it's missing!
For starters, how often do you get to eat in a ger (a.k.a. yurt, outside Mongolia)? The service was efficient, polite and friendly. And then, of course, the food: (a) unusual - you won't find food like this at any other restaurant in Canberra (I suspect you'd be hard-pressed to find it anywhere else in Australia); (b) plentiful - two of us couldn't finish four starters and one main between us; and (c) absolutely delicious. Highlights included the savoury doughnuts (very more-ish!); the 'covered beef soup'; and of course, yummy Mongolian barbecued ribs. There were plenty of vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Only complaint? We didn't leave room for dessert. Oh well - just have to go back again.......
.... and it was an awesome first date!
