We loved it. A perfect spot pre show to enjoy the city sights and wander up queen street and over the river to the Lyric.
Gluten free & vegetarian options were fabulous & menu isn’t overwhelming! Great for share plates. Will be back!
We had a fabulous family dinner at Madame Wu on new years day. Maddie was our waitress and she was absolutely fabulous. Maddie helped us choose meals to share that were coeliac safe. We had specifically travelled to Madame Wu for the Gluten Free options, which we were delighted to find were extensive. They even have a separate Gluten Free menu. The food was exceptional, the service outstanding, and the location was a delight. We watched the storey bridge change colours and river cats pass by as we dined. Our family highly recommend Madame Wu for a safe coeliac dining experience. What a wonderful evening. Thanks Maddie!
Used to love and be my favourite place for many years. But the food recently is not the same quality and standard as it once was with Modern Australian standard now it's all just shoved together also quality staff members have no idea too about service at all. For the prices you need quality staff trained in hospitality and fine dining- they could not even speak English properly. The ex manager was Italian but she was great and knew what to do and had great public relations!
The menu has changed to alot of pasta and lasagne which isn't what this place originally was it was more unique and had exotic vegetables and lentils with creative twists plenty of gluten free options too.
Sad to say I thought this place changed hands as it's nothing what it was like only a year or 2 ago. Very disappointing. So sad to see my favourite restaurant go down hill.
We can only judge this on the gluten free dumplings, but they were not that great. Certainly won't come back for them. There are other dishes that do look good though. The service was very friendly. The music was put the gate. Very eclectic. The atmosphere was nice
Food came extremely fast which was a great change from half a year ago when it came really late/slowly. Service is super friendly and everyone is very helpful. Special requests are welcome for example if you need gluten free food. Sadly all burgers came fairly burned. We joked it's flame grilled but honestly it was burned but since we were hungry we ate it anyway. Other dishes were good and nothing else was burned.
I loved the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. We were there for breakfast, and our server was very pleasant and engaging. The seating included multiple couches, which made the place feel cozy and inviting. I had the mushroom toast on a gluten-free alternative. Unfortunately, the bread tasted old and stale, which was disappointing. However, I believe this was an isolated incident, as everything else was delicious—especially the matcha.
We were pleasantly surprised to get a table with a walk in. Albeit, it was 5:30 on a Tuesday. But the place filled up quickly. The service staff were incredibly friendly and very professional. The food is well presented and delicious. There were plenty of Gluten Free options and if the staff weren't sure, they were very happy to ask the kitchen. The creme brulee is highly recommended.
There was a good variety of gluten free dishes to choose from, and the food was delicious. The venue itself is nicely appointed and the staff was lovely also. I'll go again.
