Newly diagnosed celiac here. Came for the "Real Cheeseburger" on a gluten free bun and it it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Will definitely return. The staff were knowledgeable and assured me my food would be celiac safe. When it arrived to the table, we were asked first where the gluten free burger went. The sodas were good and fries very delicious!
We absolutely love this restaurant and eat there at least once a month.
One of the big draws from me ore. Originally, choosing this restaurant was the delicious gluten-free menu. Any authentic food.
Great burger place, many options. Onion rings quite popular, also pretzel bites. All you can eat sides. Our server offered us fries up front- instead of appetizer. Burgers are customizable and all ingredients delish. Their campfire sauce is amazing! Competent friendly staff check on you without hovering. Kid friendly and I understand quite gluten friendly as well. Full bar. Loyalty program. Military discount.
Very pleasant experience. The waitress told me “we take allergies very seriously here. We don’t have a seperate GF menu because the majority can be made GF”.

Nicolas M was absolutely amazing! He recommended the octopus, bistro steak and more. He made sure that all our questions were answered. If we had any questions at anytime just to flag him down. He never left our table without us being confident in what we were asking/ordering. I am gluten free so finding a place that accommodates and understands can be difficult at times but this place understands. They are also veteran owned! He even brought my leftovers out after being left behind! He went above and beyond! You definitely won’t be disappointed coming here!
Absolutely love the their gluten free pizza! Fantastic!! Pepperoni, jalapeños and onions!! Bartenders Jasmine and Marie can pour you an exceptional drink with a top off if you like, and yes, I do! Manager Julio and kitchen manager Adrian fantastic and salt of the earth! Highly Recommend Parry’s South Rim, San Antonio. It does not disappoint!!
Tried this for the first time. My partner has a gluten allergy and we heard good things about their pizza. The pizza was really good, but very pricey. They charge $4.50 extra for any gluten free items. We sat at the bar and got drinks, the drinks were not good. If you go here I would recommend sticking to the pizza.
This is an excellent restaurant. My wife cannot have gluten, and they serve great gluten-free options. My favorite is the chicken quesadilla with corn tortillas or the 1lb grilled chicken platter for 2. Delicious, and I am looking forward to going again.

Food was good and hot. Had the gluten free bun on a burger and it was excellent. Top.shelf margarita was okay but deemed to lack alcohol. They have a dedicated fryer for gluten free fries. Sweet potato fries were good.
We got a table on short notice and were given a wam greeting a seated immediately. My wife must be gluten free and our waiter was extremely well versed in what the kitchen could and could not do for her. We split a rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly. I had an order of cornbread that was delicious. For dessert the chef prepared a gluten free Grand Marnier Vanilla Soufflé that my wife said was the absolute best dessert she has had in 30 years!!
Update
1/10/25 Daniel was our server tonight and he was excellent in word and action. He was exceptionally polite and inviting. The food was great!
Peyton was the best waiter! He was attentive to several tables and kept everyone happy. He was personable and friendly. We enjoyed our evening celebrating our son's birthday. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Peyton paid attention to details and kept the drinks (root beer) flowing, and the table cleared of empty plates and glasses. We were pleased with the service.
The manager even offered to bring out samples of prime rib for my husband to choose which one he preferred. It was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. My gluten free burger and salad were delicious. The gluten free pazookie and ice cream were also yummy.
Food itself was good, definitely appreciated the gluten free options!!! Service was great but that place needs a deep clean. The host had to swipe off our seats with his hands before he seated us, there was food on the floor under our table. The windowsills were dirty, menus have seen better times.
Server was very good at his job. We split the pizza and Caesar salad. Both were excellent. The sauce was chunky rather than blended. Just the right amount too. Finished with the gluten free cookie with vanilla ice cream. Would have been 5 stars but didn't have the gluten free beer I was looking forward to. While I understand that not many people order it, so probably not something you're going to have in stock, I was looking forward to it though :(
Sooo delicious!! Our group came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch after a rough morning. Mare e Monte did not disappoint! I had no expectation for gluten free options but yes there are some options. The service was excellent and the staff very accommodating. Everyone really enjoyed their food. All our dishes were savory yet fresh and bright. A very lovely dining experience that made our day.
Picture 1- Pollo di Piccata (made gluten sensitive)
Picture 2- Gluten sensitive bread
Picture 3- Fettuccine di Parma with chicken
Picture 4- side of zucchini & carrots
Not pictured were the amazing salads we had, ate them too fast!
Diner Music, Super Fun Menu, Excellent Service
Max and Louie’s is almost always packed; but the staff is always in a groove (maybe it’s the 50s/60s soundtrack?); the service is cheerful and efficient.
The French Toast Grilled Cheese can be made Gluten-Free, so go ahead and order; the omelettes are fantastic; but don’t forget to get a homemade hot chocolate (with real Marshmallow and Cinnamon!)
Highly recommend
I had the best lamb here! It was juicy and had a great taste. I also got the grits with jalapeño cheese and that was sooo good. They have good gluten free options for my partner who has celiacs. They had really great drinks too! I love the environment here. The chef was also walking around talking to people which was really nice. Overall an amazing experience.
What a nice hidden gem. Tucked away behind the art museum overlooking the river this little Italian restaurant will delight. The dishes were flavorful and unique. It is clear this food was created by a true chef and not just a cook. The pasta is all hand made on site and they offer gluten free. If weather is nice I highly recommend sitting outside for a river view.
Service would've been great if they knew the menu. I have celiac & when I asked the bartender if the fries from the gluten allergy menu was in fact gluten free she said yes & I eieved her. Threw up my entire meal & martini & was sick for a week. 🙁 drink was great though
My children chose to take me to North Italia to celebrate Mother’s Day. We were seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer which took 35 minutes to be served. I assumed it was busy due to Mother’s Day. We promptly ordered our entrees. I ordered the gluten free pasta. And we waited and waited and waited. 90 minutes later our meals arrived. My pasta was watery and very unappetizing but I was determined to enjoy it and move on. My daughter could see the dish was a mess and brought it to the attention of the manager who came over. Very friendly! I told him I was ok and would eat it but could I have some bread to soak up some of the water. The bread came after the waiter had cleaned up our table! It seems as if the people that bring the food are clueless to any issues with the table. Our waiter was also the bartender so we waited some more for our ticket. They comped my meal and dessert which were delicious!! But unfortunately never again. There are sooo many other great
Italian choices in the city I’ll go anywhere else.
The food was great and they were very accommodating for my Gluten allergies. The service was somewhat slow, as it took 20 minutes to get our check and it wasn't all that busy. However, the food more than made up for that. Try the Tater Tot Chaat!
Great restaurant, you walk in and personally I felt like I’d left San Antonio. So neatly decorated and the music is much better than a pretty well known Italian chain.
We ordered the antipasto for four, Lasagna, and Chicken Pesto Panini. While I personally didn’t try any of the glut-end fair the antipasto was good. There was a ham and a cheese that was placed that lift a little to be desired but it’s decided we will be back to try other items, such as any gluten free dishes.
Our waitress, Chelsea, made our lunch break from after-Christmas shopping extremely enjoyable. She really helped us understand the options we had as some of us are gluten sensitive. We will definitely be back.
I have ordered the Gathering platter (serves up to 14) now twice for different events and have loved it. They make it so easy to order online and pick up and everything comes ready for presentation so you only have to unwrap. Everyone is always stunned by the presentation, variety and tastiness of the platter.
Typically I am feeding someone who is gluten free, and if you just sub the crackers it is a great easy meal! The flowers are gorgeous and the wine has always been stupendous! Thank you Board Couple for making my life easier!!!
always stop here when in Leon springs! the waitstaff is incredible and the food is delicious. they are also very accommodating for people with celiac disease (no gluten) and kind!
The coffee is delicious and their old fashions are delicious. I definitely recommend this place as it is great for studying, catching up with friends, or night life fun. I'm gluten intolerant so I can't eat the food but just looking at them they look delicious 🤤
What an amazing experience! We went for the first time on 18 September for my husband's birthday and it was so great! They set up a fun setting on our table with a lit up balloon and a birthday card. Instead of just pointing to where the bathroom was, sometime walked me to it. They had the most delicious gluten free bread! Our food was so freaking good. The service was top notch! They even brought out the most delicious Creme Brule I've ever had! We paid a pretty penny, but so worth it! We can't go often but we will definitely go back!
Wonderful dinner at Ostra on the Riverwalk. Great location with wonderful and attentive staff, Jorge was a great server- 5 stars from me! I had the mahi mahi, delish! Gluten free options suited my needs as well as other good vegetarian/DF/GF options.
Had bunch today at the Sugar factory. They have a great range of food and drink, and a gorgeous view over the riverwalk.
Was delighted that they have gluten free options too.
Ashley the manager and Tanya her amazing waitress were both so lovely.
I’d highly recommend checking it out.
