Visiting from NYC. A great vegetarian/vegan/gluten free option place. It’s a Black owned business that promotes books and creative arts. We started off with Brussel sprouts with Balsamic vinaigrette. It was hot and had a good taste. The latte (not pictured) was very flavorful. Gluten free pancakes had a buttermilk flavor to them but a little stiff. I had the Sweet Potato hash and it was ok, a little stiff bland for me. I would recommend this place and come back on my visit.
The food was very tasty. However, I have celiac and despite ordering a gluten free dish and informing the waiter of my allergy, I got sick and believe my food had some cross contamination.

I am a regular Korean BBQ eater. Maybe it's not entirely fair to compare Japanese BBQ to Korean, I know different countries entirely, however, being in Northern Virginia it is hard not to compare a similar concept to KBBQ. The atmosphere is great, the meat was delicious, the sides lacked any flavor because they were just regular veggies (corn, not cheese corn, zucchini and cremini mushrooms), it came with a salad and miso that were flavorful. We ordered the value meal for 2 people with one cocktail $14 and a diet coke the total was $106, after tipping 22% I spent $130.. The meat was perfectly marinated and the quality was high, however the portions were insanely SMALL. I left hungry and wishing I went to Kbbq instead but it was an experience. I also noticed all the marinades and sauces were sweet- the sauces on the table were Ponzu, Sweet Soy Sauce and a Spicy Sauce that was also sweet, I found myself wishing for a more savory sauce to balance out all the sweetness. Our server was super friendly and attentive. For example I had taken the lemon from my gfs cocktail and put it in my diet coke, our server noticed and without me saying anything brought me a refill diet coke with a lemon (this didn't go unnoticed!). I personally don't see myself coming back but glad I gave it a try. Oh and I will add that everything we ordered was gluten and dairy free naturally so that was a huge plus.
Terrific food and great service! A go-to for lunch get togethers. LOVE the lunch specials and food is spiced just right. Lots of gluten free options that are clearly marked. DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. Nice ambiance too. Best Thai food around.
Usually go for brunch but tried the unlimited dinner for first time in years. Everything is still super tasty, comes out so quick that we all are too fast and got full in the first hour haha. Anna was super nice and attentive. Made sure to check for our one person the gluten free items. Even gave us a special birthday treat for the group. 10/10 would go again. Paid street parking, bathroom downstairs, upstairs has real plants hanging from the ceilings, always cute.
HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. We stopped during a middle school trip with World Strides at the end of our 3rd day (group of 50+ people). This was our best meal of the trip! We were exhausted and hungry. We walked in to pizza on the table ready for us and they brought out hot food trays as well- meat balls, Mac & cheese, huge salads, meat balls and pasta salad. Soda, lemonade and plenty of cold WATER to drink! Food was great and staff friendly. 2 in the party are celiac— they made them a pizza after arrival in a dedicated gluten free oven. They scarfed it down! Staff was also super friendly. Plenty of seating. We all dragged in but left happy and full. The outside area at the shops was fun for the teens to play and be kids again in the wobbly chairs. Check this place out for dinner and large groups as well! We were well accommodated.
This place has hands down some of the best pizza I've had. The gluten free pizza is amazing too-- the crust is buttery and crispy. But the toppings and cheese are the best part-- if you order steak on your pizza they load it up with meat that is super high quality. The homemade pizza sauce, delicious pull-apart cheese, and perfectly baked crust are top notch. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. The service is also very friendly. I would highly recommend Lost Dog Cafe to anyone looking to get a bite to eat in the area.
Cannot speak more highly of Mejana. Ordered from them for my office’s staff lunch and there were options for everyone: vegetarian, gluten free, and meat. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Staff is incredibly kind. Ordered from Grubhub for delivery, delivery was never confirmed by the 3rd party service, called the restaurant and they immediately said, “no worries, we will get to cooking and wait for the order to come in and call you when the order comes through and if a driver was assigned.” Mind you, this was Grubhub’s fault, not the restaurant! The hostess asked me to text them my order and texted me when it was ready since Grubhub wasn’t communicating with me. You can’t beat this kind of customer service. Love supporting this local, small-biz!
The pita bread for appetizers was light and soft. Hummus trio was perfect, especially the spicy hummus. Kibbeh was very filling so maybe don't order it if you plan to order a full entree as well.
I especially enjoyed my mouzat (slow cooked lamb leg with spiced rice). It was a lovely meal.
Great service, the place is huge so there were many available seats, good food.
They have lots of vegetarian and gluten free options.
Highly recommended.
Delicious, juicy burgers our whole family enjoyed! We were especially happy they offered a gluten free bun for my daughter who needs GF options. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely delicious and many gluten free options (all 3 of the BBQ sauces are GF). I had the meat sampler with sides of collard greens and Mexican street corn plus deviled eggs as a starter - everything was amazing!
My wife and I's go-to spot for movies. Food is pretty good, there's gluten and dairy-free options. Seats are comfortable and recline. If you park at the adjacent parking garage after 4pm, it's free for the evening.
A nice american restaurant with a good selection of burgers, sandwiches, fish, salads, flat breads, chicken wings, steak, etc. Good wine list and beers. They have a Gluten Sensitive menu. Good service and reasonable prices.
Informal coffe/breakfast restaurant with a New Orleans flare. They have only 2 items Gluten free to pair with the coffee : apple muffin and brownie, both very nice. Brunch is very popular and prices are fair. It has an old New Orleans feeling, funky and old, but charming ;)
Definitely a hidden gem of a place, with a great atmosphere for sitting and chilling with friends. Servers are kind and attentive-you can tell they love working there. The food is good too, especially the fish & chips, onion rings and sausage rolls. My friend said the house beer was good too, and the Irish coffee was wonderful! There are definitely options for natural gluten-free foods, like burgers without buns and salads and nachos, but nothing is noted as GF on the menu. I’m sure the servers would be happy to answer questions though if you ask though. Definitely plan to be back!
Matt was an amazing server! I have serious gluten/dairy allergies and he brought out the chef to provide safe options. The food is absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere is as well. Highly recommend this place!
A delicious sushi meal with gluten-free accommodations, including GF tamari. The sushi chef and server were able to steer me to naturally gluten-free rolls. They had GF tamari, too. I'm adding Kusshi to my list of go-to sushi restaurants.
Great salmon toro, which is my favorite nigiri.
The maki I ordered were beautiful and delicious.
Outstanding bar. Great rotating drafts, stools that you can sit on, and the ambiance of a grocery store surrounding you. If you choose to shop, it is highly recommended that you spend 3-4 hours at this bar first so that you can ignore all of the paleo/gluten free/crossfit vibes that resonate. Fairly magical when paired with the top notch buffet adjacent to the bar. Anyone interested in grocery shopping loosely should investigate the possibilities of this bar. I may be wrong, but it is possible to order drinks and imbibe while you shop. Beware: you can’t leave the bar without passing the mochi case.
Great place for cocktails and a tasty bite to eat. Lots of veggie choices. The “gyro” was somehow really nicely balanced and tasted healthier and fresh. Gold digger and passion fin off the cocktail menus. Went for lunch and bummed that the small plates weren’t available until dinner bc really wanted the beet gluten free pasta. Gallery of mostly pop art. Fun space fun drinks. Inside ballston mall above true foods.
Food was fairly decent for a bar. They even had gluten free options. Service was pretty decent as well. Prices are what you would expect I think. Atmosphere wasn't bad except in the evening they had a DJ and the music was pretty loud. I liked the music he was playing, it was just a bit loud for a hotel bar. If you're staying at the hotel and need food and drinks it's worth stopping by.
Was staying in a hotel around the corner from the Grand Cru in mid-August. I was greeted warmly at the front and offered my choice of seating. They have outdoor tables, but I ate inside. Not being a wine drinker, I came for the Gluten Free food as they have many choices. I liked the salmon dinner I had the first time, so I came back again for the duck. The soups I had were fabulous as well. My attentive server Erick made sure I enjoyed my meal. If I visit Arlington again I will surely come back.
