So many simple problems that can be fixed easily. So close to being a really great place. The menu is good, the food is good and includes choices for veg and gluten free. Big beer selection and a nice bar. The atmosphere is lively. BUT…
The service is slow and inconsistent.
STOP putting mains on top of your fries! The fries are really good, except for the ones sitting under the fish or other mains on the plate that are now soggy.
You have runners bringing the food out. Great! My food won’t sit waiting for a server who may be tied up. But then I ask the runner for something - condiments - and the wait is on…. I won’t see them or my server for a while…ugh.
The bar is busy and a great place to eat. They’re too busy so service is bad and slow. There are no condiments at the bar - tried it both ways! Can I just get some ketchup and salt and pepper please?! And when you bring the ketchup, a little ramekin won’t do… when will I ever see you again to ask for more??
These and a few others are so easy to fix. Potential is here…
What an awesome dining experience received at Pressed Cafe in Burlington. The waitstaff, order takers, and counter people, are amazing with top-notch customer service skills and friendliness! Meals are prepared lightning-fast, lots of menu choices including vegan and gluten-free options, fair pricing, convenient parking, outdoor seating in good weather, kept spotlessly clean, and hip décor. Again, what a pleasant dining experience and excellence in customer service.
A preferred spot for company dinners i eat here a couple times a year. Their au poivre is aggressively peppery (I'm used to a peppercorn sauce) but they have a great wine selection and the food really is on point. They do a great job accommodating gluten sensitivities.
The Yard House is a modern, inviting bar with an impressive selection of beer, cider, wine, and cocktails. The industrial chic dining area is open but not too noisy, and side dining area overlooking the parking lot is a comfortable alternative for an intimate setting. No reservations are taken on the weekends so expect a wait. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable but just in case you can't choose a drink the small device on the table can assist you. While their menu is varied, they also offer a gluten sensitive menu for those with dietary restrictions. The four cheese and spinach dip was the highlight of my night, but the seared sesame ahi with vegetables was very good. Not as filling as I had hoped, but the Parmigiano mashed potatoes helped. My husband had the Korean BBQ ribs and said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's had in a while. I highly recommend this place and we'll definitely return again.
Good salad! I know it's a sandwich shop, but I'm celiac and they don't have gluten free bread (hence 4 stars). Salad was super, everything was fresh, good dressing selection. Staff was awesome and helpful.
