The chef is not only Gluten intolerant himself, but us an absolute artist. My wife and I were in Vancouver for a few days while I took care of a couple of business meetings, and we happened to stumble across La Fontana Caffe while looking for something that would appeal to both of our tastes while also having at least a couple of decent Gluten Free options. Reviews said they could make special gluten free dishes, I was skeptical, but when I asked the chef, who I believe is the proprietor because of his passion for his craft and customers, he said all of the sauces are made from scratch and are gluten free, and though the home made pastas are not, he imports the gluten free pastas from Italy mostly to avoid cross contamination due to the gluten in the fresh pastas he makes daily. Portions are generous, flavors are to die for, coffee drinks smooth and rich without being bitter or too sweet (Carmel machiato). Plus, they have fresh baked gf desserts too! Bottom line, this reminded me of a little Cafe I used to frequent when I spent a year in Sicily, except they didn't speak English, and they probably would have kicked me out if I asked for gluten free pasta.

Charming cafe with a cozy vibe, a decent drinks selection, and a rewards system that keeps customers coming back for free treats!

Good cafe with nice selection of drinks and pastry. Their gluten-free and more "healthy" food option run out fast and didn't seem to be restocked throughout the day which is kinda sad.

This spacious and airy hangout boasts a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for groups, but gets busy and a bit noisy, especially on weekends.

The highlights of this cafe are definitely the ambience, seating space, and hours. I come here fairly often as it's the only place in the area that offers those things, so it's great to have something like this in the neighborhood. The staff are always friendly and they keep it pretty clean. I would avoid coming here on weekends as it's insanely packed and incredibly noisy. The food is pretty mediocre and definitely overpriced, drinks are ok and on the sweet side. If you have dietary restrictions, particularly with gluten, you will not find much here. My personal hangups-- They don't seem to update their playlist, so if you come here with any regularity bring headphones or you'll be listening to the same 15 songs every time. And it's usually cold inside, but it's a big place so I'm sure heating is not something they want to spend on.

I got the pasta chicken Alfredo with gluten free noodles and it had a good flavor. There wasn't much sauce, not sure if they didn't mix it or what, but many of the noodles were plain and it was hard to mix. But what *was* mixed was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not too tough but still a little charred. I got my food to go, but when I was in the restaurant the vibe was kind of depressing, couldn't exactly say why. The staff were kind and helpful. Ordering online was easy and pick up was a breeze. It's a great gluten free option, especially if you're in a time crunch or on a specific schedule.

They use real chocolate for their mocha which was a nice surprise. Not a great place for a snack, if you need to eat gluten-free. Staff was very friendly.
