SUPER child-friendly! For every little child a bowl with fun toys. And super much delicious GLUTEN-FREE food. All in all we felt very welcome and ate pleasantly.
The tuna salad sandwich was masterfully crafted. Gluten-free bread was great. The outside sitting roof has some leaky points when it's raining, but I overall loved the place.
Had a delicious gluten-free lunch, tuna salad with gv bread and gv fries, they also had gluten-free croquettes. It looked very cozy inside, we sat upstairs.
Very nice service who knows very well what does and does not contain gluten. Fantastic place to eat gluten free. The fries are fried separately and many on the menu have gluten-free options. Also for desserts!

Friendly staff and tasty food. Good price quality ratio, big terrace to enjoy the sun, also the inside area is cozy. Gluten free food options are available. Recommended.
The family had a choice 3 course dinner. The cook had made me a customized 3-course dinner, free of gluten (due to celiac disease), celery and hazelnuts. There was gluten free bread. They had set up a gluten-free fryer especially for me for the fries.
Friendly staff with knowledge about gluten-free cooking. I have had no complaints.
The pepper soup, sea bass with fries and homemade mayonnaise and yoghurt amarena dessert were delicious.
This restaurant is highly recommended!
The staff is very nice. The food is also tasty and they have both gluten-free and vegetarian options. They have a special fryer for gluten-free. Absolutely great :) You can speak both Frisian and Dutch here (of course).
Delicious food! Sea view is now much more than just a beautiful view. Nice menu with adult dishes that can also be ordered as half (children's) portion. Sufficient vegetarian options for our eldest daughter. And a gluten-free eater was well taken into account.
While our children enjoyed a delicious tomato soup beforehand, we ate scallops. These were prepared perfectly. Our main courses were all beautifully flavoured. Excellent cooking of the steak. Blessed lamb. Beautiful wines - some can also be ordered by the glass. Smooth friendly service. And then also that beautiful view! And when the conservatory is full, there is an attractive dining room - so you're always in the right place. In short: what's not to like? Keep it up - we will definitely be back!
Expected something different in terms of portion of the gluten-free version of the club sandwich, but the taste was great. Delicious cappuccino. Delicious mustard soup with the dream deal (incl gluten, for my husband). Nice terrace on the water with spacious benches and seats. Inside really dark, dated decor.
Nice enthusiast who came to take the order sparklingly. Super nice atmosphere, a discovery for us!
There's gluten free options and milk free options, vegetarian options and just meat options.
Kind staff
I have anxiety and difficulty to choose so thank you so much for having patience with me 😊
Theres a bit of a echo so its a little overwhelming, but this isn't their fault and obviously can't be avoided in a restaurant setting.
Good bathroom, the sinks need to get painted woth a water protective layer though, its starting to rust,
Didnt see a baby changing table in female bathroom.
You can have a delicious lunch here! And what I really like is that it is immediately indicated on the menu which gluten-free options are available. For someone who eats gluten-free, there really is a lot of choice!
Had lunch here due to a short visit to Sneek. Nice restaurant with wide choice and very friendly staff. Someone in our group cannot tolerate gluten and that was no problem at all. Who knows, see you soon.
Super nice stay, comfortable room. Air condition was a bit loud. Breakfast had all necessary things. Tables had been little dirty.
Glutenfree bread is available. Parking just across the street.
We sat here on the terrace several times after a long walk in the orange forest. It is the perfect place to relax for a while, and also with a beautiful view. It's nice that organic drinks are also available.
We had high tea once, a 5-course dinner once and regularly come for a cup of tea, gluten-free cake or lunch sandwich. A beautiful place with honest food and you can taste it! On the right track.
Delicious food. Also gluten free.
Service was very friendly despite the crowds. Atmosphere was a little less busy because of the crowds, but it was also lunch time. We come here more often 😊
Lunch is always great! Dinner menu somewhat limited options for those with celiac disease who are not allowed gluten, but they always do their best. Service is always pleasant and cheerful. You can have a wonderful afternoon or evening there for drinks.
Hospitable. Being able to eat gluten-free well. Bun was crispy but soft on the inside. Ham is fried separately in the pan to avoid cross-contamination.
Café with a nice view, ideal for grabbing a drink or some food before boarding the ferry. Friendly staff and good selection. There are also gluten free dishes available.
Searched for an alternative to the usual breakfast menu of pastries and found this wonderful place on the corner. We enjoyed their Mediterranean bowl complete with seasonal veggies and protein. Gluten free options. Ready to explore the city!
Warning for people with gluten allergies: 'Gluten-free' pancakes are not gluten-free!
The menu states that the pancakes can be made gluten-free for a fee of €3. My friend ordered one of these and explicitly stated that she had an allergy. When the pancakes were delivered, we asked to be sure whether they had been baked in a clean pan. This turned out not to be the case, they were fried in the same pan as the normal pancakes. Cleaning the pan (which seems like a small effort to us) or using another clean pan was not possible because the cook did not want that, very unusual. The otherwise friendly service said that unfortunately they could not help my friend any further, while the rest of our food had already been brought. Why put on the menu that food is gluten-free (and even charge a surcharge for this) if this is not the case? Allergies are no joke, people can get seriously ill from them.
We had a rare delicious (and organic) meal at the very friendly Jan Kasteel.
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or... everything is deliciously prepared for you. After cooking, Jan also plays the piano for you. We will definitely come back here.
We made an unexpected stop here and I was so happy about it!! Unlike many other restaurants on Ameland, here on the menu: gluten-free options, lactose-free options and healthy/responsible options. In addition, it is also super tasty!! You quickly feel like an exception when you have to ask about everything and you feel more than welcome here. An example for other restaurants.
And then the view over the beach... Wow! How lucky that it was already full inside and we got to sit outside.
In terms of service: a few miscommunications during the order because the waiter also heard colleagues through his earpiece and responded, to which we then responded again and then you got strange situations. This also happened at other tables.
+ even though the children may still be young, they still count and would like to eat/drink something ;)
Really great place with a few gluten free options. The sweet potato fries were amazing, but the home made lemonades were very weak. Overall a great experience and will come back when visiting Leeuwarden!

There is a card with information about gluten. Even though I gave it another chance a few times, I now got sick again. Sometimes it went well, but you have to be very alert, croutons in the soup, cookie crumbs on the ice cream, unfortunately you can't "see" everything. Unfortunately not recommended if you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance.
Guests without gluten intolerance had a delicious meal.
Go for a cup of coffee. When we asked whether they had anything gluten-free with the coffee due to intolerance, which is not a problem at most Grand Cafés, the answer was quickly answered with no (before I could finish my sentence). Tried to think along, maybe a chocolate? Received a loud no with an indifferent attitude. So if you have an allergy or intolerance I wouldn't go here.
