Lots of vegan and Gluten free options
Lovely staff
Blankets outside
Not too noisy
Does cafe Vienna
Only critique is one of the doors in looks like the main entry but is in fact entry to the kitchen
Food was nice, however the menu is misleading- none of the chicken options are dairy free due to marinating in yoghurt- despite saying dairy free. Explanation of this was also lacking- the only reason our group came is because the menu said dairy free and gluten free options. Other than that food was nice, mild lamb saagwala was nice could have done with more salt. Coeliac friendly, seemed to have lots of options for gluten free.
No cocktails for some reason? Again not explained well.
Was in at a quiet time service was standard, other than the menu being wrong was okay.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service.
Anybody looking for a Lonestar vibe in a sweet alpine setting will be satisfied at Fire & Ice. The team was attentive and the French gentleman who served us was excellent and prompt with our orders. Fantastic outdoor area for the kids and was left very full by the large and delicious portions (beef burger/chicken burger/ribs to start).
The team is very receptive of dietary needs (gluten free)
In a space which is largely lacking since Covid, Fire & Ice excels.
Appalling in every way.
We booked a table for family on Xmas day lunch buffet.
Absolutely disgusting food. Way overpriced. Shocking customer service and they deliberately overcharged us. The chef and manager repeatedly told me the menu would be safe for a celiac. Upon arrival the head chef told the the vegan lasagne was safe. He knew nothing about food allergies or that pasta had gluten in it.
The staff were all internationals who couldn’t have cared less about the Xmas traditions.
Accommodation providers in Hanmer have since told us that no one eats there and they don’t refer anyone to the restaurant and will be throwing away any advertising this year for the Xmas buffet. Many unhappy diners on Xmas day walking out.
Avoid this place.
