Delicious with coeliac friendly options (they have a separate fryer). I loved my burger and my partner enjoyed a gluten free breakfast option. Toni really looked after us. Recommended!
Great Jem in the heart of new Plymouth! Amazing customer service along with beautiful coffees and great food. Huge selection which caters to all food restrictions/preferences the waiters and chefs have great knowledge on all their meals and are always happy to help me with my food preference being keto along with a gluten intolerance and go out of their way everytime to serve a great meal that fits into this category along with being super tasty everytime.
Thankyou !!
I had the most disgusting uber from jos garage. A piece of chicken and mashed potato. It was supposed to come with mushroom if I had not ordered the glutenis mushroom sauce there would not have been a mushroom in sight. I paid almost $30 for garbage you should be ashamed
Loved our dinner at Area 41. Friendly service and very accommodating as we have 2 children and I'm gluten and dairy free. The kids have never eaten so much at a restaurant, plates completely clean. Nice wine and beer list.
Great coffee, food and service!!! Delicious Gluten Free eggs Benedict and Beef burger. Keto options on menu. Waitstaff checked on meals, which you rarely get anymore and is very much appreciated. Highly recommend
Excellent cafe, my favourite! Great food, a decent gluten free selection (not just the chocolate brownie every other cafe has as pretty much its ONLY gf option), great coffees, and the BEST cups of tea if you're a tea-drinker like me). Highly recommended! You'll come back again & again (like me!).
Loved this place, the service was friendly, the food was excellent with a great choice of options. I am gluten free and I have never found it so hard to decide as there were so many delicious looking options. All 6 people at our table loved their food. Top marks for the tasty chicken burger, generous pizzas, finger licking good pork ribs and moreish mussel. All beautifully presented. Only sorry I didn't take photos!
Go visit any time. It is worth the drive for a special lunch or plan to call in when you are heading north. We will be back for sure.
They also have a lovely little art gallery with unique special hand made jewellery. Just beautiful, I may have bought a few pieces ;0)
A little cafe in a beautiful old building with welcoming staff members. The cafe staff were lovely - when we asked for the gluten free eggs Benedict, they asked me if I was coeliac and then told me they will serve it on gluten free toast instead of hash browns because though the hash browns are gluten free, they fry it in a shared fryer. To me this shows wonderful knowledge about coeliacs and how shared fryers can still cause reactions - so I felt very safe and cared for, which I donโt take for granted as a coeliac. Coffee was also great, and our dog enjoyed some pats, a pup cup and a bowl of water while we ate.
4 of us dined in for my husbands birthday dinner, we were greeted by a very nice waitress and shown to our table. I was so happy to see the different dietary options they provide on the menu. I ordered a chicken burger (changing to GF option), their fries aren't GF since they are cooked in the same vat as gluten containing products so they offered to do me a potato mash which came with pumpkin chutney, and ordering GF garlic bread as entrรฉe (there were 3 but I already ate one before taking the photo!) The food was absolutely amazing! Both waitress and waiter were fabulous and the restaurant/Cafe itself is very cozy and very fair in pricing. We have found our favorite eatery.
Wow, just had the best ever Gluten Free toasted sandwich from Oscars Kiwi Cafe. Better than anyone I've ever had. Amazing chicken, bacon Pie. Extremely friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Thanks Ladies for staying open for us.
Went in for brunch with others and the atmosphere was welcoming, there were a few gluten-free options in the food cabinet as well as they make substitutions on the menu, there is no set gluten-free menu so there is a risk of cross contamination.
The staff was nice and especially one waitress who took our photo whom was very friendly. I ordered the bacon and eggs on toast (poached and switched to gf bread) was very delicious I enjoyed it a lot, as well a flat white coffee which was very nice.
We dined here tonight, as a table of 3. Grant was our waiter. What outstanding service. He was very attentive and polite. He was also helpful with the menu as I have celiac disease. Beautiful meal enjoyed by all of us. We will be back.
Homely ambiance in a family-friendly converted barn decorated with Dutch art and vintage timber furniture. Hearty homestyle food in generous portions. I tried the Prutje pancake in the gluten-free option and had to take half home for dinner. The staff were friendly and attentive, although granted I was the only diner at the time.
Food snobs probably wouldn't enjoy this place, but if - like me - you are charmed by roosters named Grandfather, handmade country style food and charming surroundings, this place is worth a visit.
What a wonderful cafe.
We stopped there on Tuesday coffee is good and the gluten free slice I had was superb!
I ended up having a second coffee and we took two slices with us.
An easy friendly vibe at this Cafe and this, alongside efficient quick service make the ideal Cafe - long may they remain.
Highly recommend Mikes Bistro. We had a lovely meal and great selection of cocktails. The deserts were delicious. They also provide a huge range of Gluten Free meals. It made our experience that much better as our daughter had a lot to choose from. The service was great, very friendly staff.
Love the oat milk cappuccino, it's the best in New Plymouth.
Had scrambled eggs on gluten free toast which was delicious and a much more filling portion than you'll find elsewhere.
The service is always on point and friendly.
Quiet and clean. The flat white was EXACTLY to my taste. Friendly, relaxed service from the owner. Tasteful decor. We sat at the doorway but still found the cafe was not noisy. Highly recommended. Well be going again when we're in the suburb and need a good coffee ... with a delicious gluten free slice.
Stopped in on the way on our little road trip, while tucked away just off the main strip this place is a gem, friendliest staff you could ever want, the food was delicious and they catered to our gluten free needs. Very pleased with this cafe.
The staff were friendly, but it's very outdated.. The gluten free burger was OK, they have other options that are gluten free but they aren't celiac friendly so that was a bit of a let down.. Might go occasionally for a drink but that's about it ๐
