If you’re a celiac, here’s your breakfast spot! They have a printed gluten free menu with SO MANY OPTIONS! The food was absolutely out of this world delicious, the staff were beyond kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is upbeat and fun! I have zero complaints. I’ll be back again every time I visit Wilmington!
Amazing savory and sweet crepes, and best of all for me, all are available in gluten free. We discovered this restaurant when we visited UNCW with our son, and now that he is a student there, we make sure to visit Our Crepes & More whenever we’re in town. My favorites are the Monte-Cristo savory and the Mont-Blanc sweet, but really, we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried.
I have to avoid gluten at all costs and this place provided a great selection of safe options. The food is good and the person taking the order was friendly and knowledgeable about the gluten issue and cross contact.
Celiac Review
Highly recommend this place, the atmosphere is incredible and the staff is really welcoming. Having celiac disease(gluten allergy) limits me from eating out but this place makes me feel very safe. The food is amazing. shout out to Lora and Matt!!
A Friend and I ate here while on a mini vacation. The staff are very friendly and attractive to your needs. I had the raspberry stuffed French toast on Gluten Free bread. With a fruit bowl. My friend had the bacon avocado omelet with fried potatoes. The food was amazing! The flavor was spot on. I love food that had a lot of flavor . If you are in the area this restaurant is a must!
There’s nothing better than a grilled cheese sandwich from Cheesesmith ESPECIALLY because they have GF options for those like myself who can’t have gluten. 10/10 all around.
Into healthier food options?!
Stop by Panacea.
They have a nice selection of healthy tasty dishes. The classic burger plant based with gluten free bun is one of my favorites. The coconut curry soup is amazing.
So second time coming and possibly the last… I’ve been here before and I really liked it. This time I was honestly SO disappointed because I was really looking forward to coming here because it’s like a special occasion. So about the food— I ordered gluten free pizza. It was soggy and falling apart. Flavor was good. Also ordered a burger with a gluten free “bun” however it was not a bun it was small pieces of thin sandwhich bread that when I picked up the burger it had been disintegrated in the container already. So the burger just fell apart. Honestly I really wanted to have a nice meal but nobody could really enjoy the food. So that’s my review it was good before but this time was bad enough to tell me maybe ownership changed or quality control got fired man I’m not sure.

A nice and classy restaurant with delicious vegan and gluten-free food, cocktails and mocktails. A great place to dress up and get a fine dining vibe in a beach town.
Every time I am in Wilmington, it is a must for dinner and brunch.
Today we had vegan brunch and left us wanting to return:
*Waffles Ranchero
Masa waffles, spicy chard and yummy chimichurri crema.
*Mushroom & Grits
Mild Cajun crema over crunchy oyster mushrooms and corn yummyness.
*Bloody Mary to perfection.
*Espresso Martini good but on the sweet side.
**Desserts to die-for: Banana Bread, Carrot Cake and Caramel Cheesecake. All three moist and tasty. Yum!
My favorite thing about this place is their focus on locally grown including their very own greenhouse with herbs and greens.

At bar with buddy - Feb 2024. Mentioned a touch of celiac disease in an effort to have them remove the sauces from the vegetable and fish - unfortunately, came out completely unseasoned (gun shy) - nevertheless - the fish (salmon) was very good, and the asparagus was cooked properly - so all in all - very good and recommended - just ask for them to remove items you don't want but DO NOT tell them you may have an aversion to such items - as they go over the top. Still very recommended - with only reservation towards the mentioned... Had they done as I asked - oil and salt on asparagus and simple dry seasonings on the salmon - it would have been near 5 star. Buddies meal - Saltimbocca - was exceptional... See photos.
This was a lovely place to eat lunch in Wilmington! I’m gluten-free and the staff were so helpful at explaining their kitchen practices, I felt so safe and happy having many options. I had their salsa sampler which was amazing, their salsa is so bright and refreshing. I also had the jerk shrimp tostada with coconut rice, both were stellar! So fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend Savorez to anyone in the area!
What a great experience! We had my nephews wedding rehearsal brunch here and it was perfect. The food was delicious and came out quick! Everyone finished their plate completely. And it was beautifully plated. The restaurant itself is cute and the patio was perfect for our party of 25.
The thing that made it so special was our server, Judah. He was fast, attentive, and so friendly!!!
They have gluten free options, and vegetarian. As a gluten free vegan I order the oatmeal. Not very exciting but it was actually really good.
Amazing!!! Can not recommend enough staff is so kind and the place is so clean and well kept. Great vegan and gluten free options that actually taste good.
Excellent gluten free options! The calamari was very good. Unfortunately, the service was very slow for how low the occupancy was. We ended up getting ours to go since we sat for so long and just wanted to get headed home. The server admitted it was real slow and apologized.
Great experience! We had the raw oysters, peel 'n' eat shrimp, and french fries. They were all very good but as a french fry connoisseur I can say that the fries were amazing. They even have a gluten free menu (limited entree options but still worth it imo). Plus the view of the river is great.
Lots of delicious GF brunch options, and GF bread is available. They were very receptive when I reported it was due to celiac disease and brought my food out separate from the rest of the groups.

We had reservations for 9 which was easily accommodated. The space and atmosphere was great. 4 of us ordered the butchers cut (14 oz ribeyes $45) and while they were all cooked correctly, mine wasn’t hot and they were all bland/didn’t seem to be seasoned at all and tough. My husband ordered the burger and they had a gluten free bun which was wonderful for him! The brussel sprouts and chocolate mouse cake was delicious! The server was great and the timing of food was reasonable. One reason we booked this restaurant was because they had parking on site in the parking deck, but it was full so we had to park really far away in another deck and walk which made some of our party late for our reservations so be aware of that if you’re having dinner there and not staying at the hotel.
I cannot possibly say enough amazing things about our dining experience at Seabird last night! I made a reservation online for 4 people. One friend was unable to join, so it ended up being three of us celebrating my engagement. When we arrived at our table, there was a congratulations note and an origami swam waiting for us- so sweet! Our server, Erin, was the best server I have ever had the pleasure of knowing- from start to finish, she checked on us frequently, was so kind and friendly that we all felt the warm fuzzies, knew the wine menu in and out (one of my group is a wine professional), and gave the most incredible descriptions of the food options that we all ended up overordering and enjoying everything!
Food run down-
- Shellem Wild Mussels- Unfortunately I was not able to try these as I’m allergic to an ingredient in them. My friend ordered them and devoured them! She gave a 5 star rating!
- Fresno Chili Prok Ribs- delicious! I’m a spice wimp so they were a little hot for my taste, and my friend loved them!
- Roasted Carrot Salad- what a treat! This salad had the sweetness from the carrots and carrot puree combined with a light dressing and thinly sliced limes. It was an incredible salad!
- Smoked Catfish and Oyster Pie- we weren’t sure what to expect with this dish. It came in a bowl like a soup and had a baked topping on it almost like a pita/cheese layer. It was fantastic! It also came with herbs you could shred and add to it.
- Shellem oysters- locally farmed, briney, so fresh! This comes with two different hot sauces, cocktail sauce, and another sauce along with lemons.
- Eastern Cioppino- one friend is gluten-free and dairy-free. This dish was able to be made perfectly for her! She said this is her favorite dish to order, and our waitress said it’s the one she eats the most as well. Delicious!
- We also had two cheese plates- a gouda and a blue cheese- that were delicious and great portions!
- Then at the end, to celebrate my engagement, I had a scoop of lemon poppyseed ice cream!
- Throughout our meal we also had a number of different glasses of wines. We were able to taste each one first, and Erin was amazing about splitting the glasses- we didn’t all want full glasses of wine, and you can’t order a half glass, so we would order a glass and be served two half glasses to share. Brilliant!
Honestly, Seabird is probably the best dining experience in Wilmington. They also keep notes about what food and drink you enjoy so that when you return, the team can suggest items you may really like and keep track of things like allergies. The manager frequently checked on every table as well, and the entire team worked together seamlessly to ensure we had everything we needed at all times. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy every minute of our dining experience.
Excellent service and menu selection. The gluten free bread was a little on the dry side and it is on the noisy side in the restaurant. Great choice for brunch with yummy cocktails. Highly recommend the green kale and lemon juice.
Great menu with wonderful and clearly marked gluten free options. They also were very accommodating with outdoor seating and even had heaters on the patio facing the river front. The service was excellent too!
This place is excellent! Small, so you might have to wait.
Let me save you some time... get the fried chicken. It is outstanding!
Gluten free burger was excellent too (according to my wife)
Chicken pot pie looked delicious.
Gluten free pizza wasn't great. The shrimp fria diavolo was excellent. Filet mignon was good. Service was good. We sat outside and it worked well for our large group
The Spoonfed team catered my wedding, and it was one of the best decisions I made during the planning process! I had several guests with allergies and Susan was a joy to work with to make sure there were accommodations for everyone. Not only that, but the gluten free and vegan options were JUST as delicious as the other options. Hands down, it was the best wedding dinner I’ve ever had, and we received countless compliments the next day from guests who felt the same. The staff was incredible—not only were they professional and attentive, but they also brought so much joy to our day. The morning of the wedding, our wedding party had breakfast at the restaurant, and the staff made us feel so welcomed and celebrated. I’m so grateful we can continue enjoying Spoonfed’s amazing food at their restaurant!
A super experience at a great restaurant and it’s in the neighborhood. The grouper in parchment paper, with scallops and shrimp, was as high end as it gets, except for the very reasonable price. The accompanying risotto was delicious. We’ve been to 421 often, even had a large birthday party there. Every time was an outstanding experience and the service is impeccable. As an added bonus, they have gluten free options like the grouper dish I mentioned above, and others as well.
While searching for some gluten free options downtown this place popped up. Their gluten free hamburger bun was Delicious and even had poppy seeds! I had a burger with pork on top and the cheese melted perfectly with some bacon. Can't remember the name but I highly recommend it!
I stopped in today for the first time after living in Wilmington for many years. This is truly the best coffee I have had since moving here. I was recently diagnosed celiac and was really happy that they had gluten free bakery items I could eat. I had the Oat Pumpkin Latte and a carrot oat cookie. Both were amazing. I can’t remember the last time I had such good quality coffee in Wilmington. I have my fingers crossed a second location could open towards the middle of town or Monkey Junction!
A dream come true! I came here with my husband for a romantic dinner on the balcony. 5 star atmosphere and food. The waitstaff were very knowledgeable about these true home made Italian dishes. The food was incredible! Autentico!
(For gluten free, go for the roast chicken.)
Great, original menu with several gluten free and vegan offerings. The menu also offers a great line up of fresh seafoods and for those who are looking for just good old fashioned beef or chicken they've got you covered!
Cannot express how pleased we were with our experience here. I have celiac and the amount of attention to detail ensuring I was only given foods that were safe for me to eat and to make sure there was no cross contamination was unreal. Our sever Jacob went above and beyond checking every item so I would not get sick. They have gluten free bread and brownies that made me question if it was really safe because of how good they were. Will definitely be returning and recommend it to anyone with celiac that wants a nice dining experience.
Super nice staff, the gluten free option contained egg whites, which I can’t eat either, so I brought my own bread and they just gave me the avocado toast without the toast and it was DELICIOUS!!! So so good! Their frozen mimosas (Fro-Mo) are a really good too!
Just discovered this gem of a place for brunch/lunch…great food and atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very nice to meet Jen today…can’t wait to join them for dinner soon. And to top it off, they have a very nice selection of gluten-free choices!
I'm gluten free and vegetarian and loved the dinner I had a delicious meal here! I had the smoky black bean taco and loved the soft and hard taco combo. My partner had the tequila chicken taco and southern fried steak taco. Flavors were great and we loved the chips and salsa! Chips share a fryer so there is cross contamination but it didn't bother me (not celiac).
RX Chicken and Oysters offers an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant's interior design is warm and inviting with an artistic flair. The service is exceptional, with a staff that goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcomed and cared for. The food menu shines with delicious, creative dishes that utilize fresh, high-quality ingredients. On our recent visit, we began with Lucy Bea's oysters, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, my husband ordered the fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese, while I had the fish and pork tacos. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. My husband raved about his chicken and sides, and I loved the tacos' combination of tastes and textures. The sweet potato fries with their dipping sauce were the ideal accompaniment. We were delighted that the staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating regarding my gluten sensitivity. To finish our meal on a sweet note, we shared the ice cream with chocolate covered bacon - an ingenious and tasty dessert. From start to finish, RX Chicken and Oysters impressed us with their outstanding food, stellar service, and inviting ambiance. We can't wait to return soon.
MeMa’s Chick’n and Ribs is nothing short of a flavor-filled experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, welcoming smiles, and the mouthwatering aroma of slow-smoked goodness.
Tthe ribs fall off the bone, and the brisket melts in your mouth. They’ve got something for everyone BBQ lovers, seafood fans, vegans, and the gluten-free crowd alike. And the dessert bar? An entire bar for DESSERTS!!!
More than just a meal, MeMa’s is a place where community and comfort come together. Great food, a loving vibe, and a heart behind every dish. Simply put just plain phenomenal.
I have celiac disease and I have eaten here numerous times at both locations. I never get sick. There’s a ton of food options. And the drinks are made with fresh juices. So GOOD!
Waited for 10 mins before we had to ask to be seated. Not busy and plenty of workers. Waitress didn't ask if we wanted anything after waiting 15 mins for food. Was charged over $18 for 4 gluten free Pancakes and a cup of coffee. Had to get to an appt so didn't question it. Jacksonville is so much better!
GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! Absolutely delicious. We are here on vacation and we hadn't had Mongolian bbq and well over a decade, mostly because of no availability but also because of my gluten allergies. we stopped in to try our luck and they were more then accommodating. They let me know everything I could eat and what not to and brought out gf soy sauce too. And to top it off the chef thoroughly cleaned the section he cooked my food on and used fresh utensils. So awesome. Also I waited 3 days to post to make sure I didn't have a reaction.
I was there for the first time last night and had such a wonderful experience. The building itself is beautiful, & has such a comforting and unique feel. All of the staff were so kind, eager to answer all questions, and gave great recommendations. We ended up getting an entree each as well as several starters to share and were blown away by literally every single thing. My Mom and I both have celiac and were thrilled to find so many gluten free options on the menu. Could not recommend more!
Excellent pizza, crispy wings and 1/2 price burgers on a Wednesday night. East coast IPA was tasty. We make our own dough and pizzas at home in a pizza oven. These pizzas were the best we’ve had in the area. Simple Sicilian style pizzas good sauce, nice tasting crust. No garlic after taste is a plus. We had a lovely waitress and she took our order. You can do on phones as well but this was definitely a better option. Wish I got her name. Atmosphere- we sat in bar, it’s a bar. There are other areas to sit in. It’s was a rainy night so wasn’t crazy busy. Will return
Almost forgot … I have a gluten free kid so having options for her was an added bonus
My boyfriend and I placed online orders and picked them up. I ordered the mahi mahi with rice and broccoli. He ordered the parmesan crusted rainbow trout with mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and the steamed mussels. My fish was overcooked which made it less enjoyable to eat. When opening the box of steamed mussels, my boyfriend picked out a piece of plastic in his food. I also asked for my meal to come without bread as I have a gluten allergy that I noted on my order, however it still came with bread. The rainbow trout was ice cold and bland. Either the plastic in the food or the cold fish has severely upset my boyfriend’s stomach. While I am not one to leave reviews, we had an unsatisfactory experience and hope that this can help improve the service for other guests going forward.
