They hype was real! Typically Im not a fan of order at the counter type places, but I’m willing to get over it for this place. I had the chicken kebab bowl and of course had the Mac n’ Cheese because that’s all I’ve been hearing I about. Everything was amazing, and I cannot believe how good the Mac n’ Cheese is for being gluten free.
Unfortunately, I placed an order originally a few days ago. The gluten-free bun was as hard as a rock and they included hash on my sweet potatoes today I picked up the replacement order and I let her know what all was on there. It included things that I did not say I wanted it on my sandwich. I have irritable bowel to where I am not able to tolerate some things and I specifically told her the items I want there. I did not get to receive a replacement order tonight again because they were closed and now I’m without a meal for tonight. No one wants to throw away $27 worth of food that they paid for. I am disappointed in the customer service and the blame. She tried to put on me for something that she did as in the manager.
Im visiting my family from out of town, had an amazing experience at this location! Both my mom and I are extremely symptomatic celiac. Our server, Anita took such care to ensure that all our concerns were very clearly addressed and the manger even came over to check in on us and gave us extra treats. I’ve never been so confident and felt so comfortable and safe eating out before. Will definitely return again next time I visit. Thank you so much!
Amazing service and food! The staff are so kind and very attentive with a lot of information about gluten friendly food. The gluten free bread is DELICIOUS! Light and fluffy and the panini bread was divine. Their membership wine club is so amazing with tons of benefits and treats! Happy hour includes a whole list of bottles of wines you can get only for 25$! Best place to go to for a romantic night out, beautiful ambiance, fun and tasty food and very affordable. This is now my favorite place to go to! Highly recommend !!!
Not a crumb left behind. I will most certainly be back. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with garlic Parmesan fries which is included with the entree. Everything looked so good that I went back and ordered a blueberry lemon scone and earl grey tea. Everything here is vegan and the sandwiches are gluten free. Great price for the quality.
This is a hidden gem, tucked into East Shore. The staff is top notch; the wine is carefully selected and paired with the menu. The food is fresh and made to order. This is the only place I will eat shrimp. Porta'vino takes allergies seriously and they have a dedicated gluten- free fryer. The chef will make special allergen-free entrees, catered to your specifications. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants!
And, they have rooms for private parties!
The food and service here was awesome. Coming from San Diego Coastal area we had many choices for dining on awesome fish. Here the choices are limited but Truluck's doesn't disappoint. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that I have to eat gluten free and while they have many gluten-free selections on the menu there is no gluten-free desert. Seems silly but if you want to celebrate you want the full experience. It would be so easy to have one. Most even average restaurants do.
Great food. It would be nice if there were more Gluten Free options but the choices they had were good. We got the pork chop and fried zucchini. Didn’t have any issues.
To sum up this place: it's an upscale cafeteria. And in this instance, that’s a good thing. They serve quality food in a non-pretentious, yet slightly pretentious way. What do I mean? Let me break it down.
For starters, you seat yourself in a dining environment that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor dining area is lined with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The chairs and tables are slightly upscale, with wood accents, as opposed to the plastic seating you’d find in a traditional cafeteria. The outdoor patio mimics the indoors, with plenty of gas warmers and a modern-style accent fireplace wall. Again, not pretentious, but pretentious.
The food menu is what you’d expect from any slightly upscale dining spot. The options are large and plentiful, but not so much so that it’s overwhelming (aka The Cheesecake Factory). Items like chorizo queso, lobster tostada, and truffle mac & cheese make up the appetizers (they call them "Beginnings" here). Blackened redfish, beef & lamb bolognese, and fried chicken & waffles are just a few of the "Kitchen Plates." They stick with the cafeteria theme in concept, but the offerings could just as easily be found on a fine dining menu in an upscale restaurant. Add a full wine menu, craft beers, specialty burgers with a gluten-free bread option, and you start to really understand this place.
I had the build-your-own plate option, which included black pepper salmon with chipotle butter, steamed broccoli, and a mixed greens side salad splashed with what I assumed was balsamic vinaigrette dressing. A Shiner Blonde Light from the ice trough topped it off nicely.
My take: I would definitely go back. We went for lunch, but I'm eager to try the breakfast offerings. This is the place you go when you're in your daytime best casualwear, want to grab some great food, and still catch a good buzz. No waiters constantly asking if you need anything. Just an eclectic crowd of both business folks working on laptops and suburban Houstonians enjoying their day in The Woodlands.
Heard they had gluten free crepes and was intrigued as someone with Celiac. I struggled to decide which option I wanted, and ultimately got the crème brûlée crepes. It was so good. Chock full of custard and sliced fresh strawberries, with crunchy caramelized sugar on the top to complete the crème brûlée vibes. Absolutely delicious, and I wish there was a location closer to where I live, though it’s probably good for my waist line that it’s too far of a drive to eat here regularly
I had good but not a great coffee yet but they have some of the best gluten free pastries I have ever had. The olive oil cake and the blueberry lavender muffin. So yum. 😋
We go each year to celebrate multiple family members' birthdays, three of which are gluten free.
Great experience, great food, great service!
Special thanks to Travis, Iloir and so many others for taking great care of us!
We ordered take-out, and unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked to the point of being inedible – too chewy; we couldn't eat it. While the sides were tasty, the gluten-free strawberry shortcake was dry and didn’t seem fresh. I still ate the cake because I was excited to have a gluten free dessert.
I immediately liked seeing the vegan and gluten free options on the menu, I lean towards and love these places that are concerned with fusing their cuisine and offering variety for each different taste, each dish that I decided to try was loaded with flavors and good portions, it gives It's a pleasure to pay for a visit to a place that knows how to serve demanding palates well.
Excellent local restaurant and delicious food. Lots of gluten free options as well. Everything we’ve tried is wonderful and the owner and staff are super friendly and great (our favs are Roberto and Leah!). We come nearly every week because we love it. Highly recommend!
I had the most delightful experience at The Hummingbird where they truly understand the importance of accommodating gluten allergies. We got to enjoy an array of beautifully presented gluten-free treats. The selection of delicately crafted finger sandwiches, scrumptious scones with clotted cream and jam, and an assortment of pastries—all safe for gluten-sensitive guests—exceeded my expectations, both in taste and presentation. The wonderful food paired with the delicious tea made this a memorable experience one that I eagerly look forward to repeating.

I had the occasion to try Terra Vino today. I was very impressed.
This is hidden off Research Forest in the Woodlands. The ambience is upscale contemporary. Nice!
My daughter and I went early, arriving about 5PM.
I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle Ragu, and my daughter had the Chicken Parmesan with Fettucine Alfredo. We had a started of warm Focaccia bread with Olive oil. It was fresh and very good.
Our orders arrived quickly. We both tried a bit of the other entre.
First, the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was moist and flavorful with a nice Mozzarella topping. It was perfectly seasoned. It had a nice side of Fettucine Alfredo. The sauce was delicate and tasty, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I will probably try that as my entre next trip.
I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle Ragu since it looked appealing, and it was something I had never tried. It was outstanding! The pasta was made home made fresh, as are all of their pastas with the exception of the Gluten Free options. The sauce was amazing. Tomato based, with plenty of tender short rib, along with some carrot and basil. Again, excellent flavor. It also had some mushroom pieces, which I easily set aside. (Not a problem per se, just not my preference)
I asked if it was possible to hold the mushroom the next time I ordered it, and the waiter said yes, that was no problem. It's nice to know that they can handle a small mod like that!
All in all, this is the best Italian I've had in a while. The portions were generous, without being overbearing.
I will definitely be back!
Erin was excellent! She told me the gluten friendly options right away! I was so excited I could order the pizza with a cauliflower crust! She even brought our children’s food very quickly and was extremely attentive! For such a busy night she was frequently checking on us and bringing us more beverages. I am very impressed for such a busy night to get all our food so quickly and all the attention she provided to us, highly recommend for a family dinner night out!
UPDATE: We used to love this restaurant but they've now decided to spray continuously, per the manager, a toxic smelling artificial fragrance into the air. We were only there 5 min and I got a headache and my husband started coughing. It smells awful!
Delicious food with lots of gluten free options and a delicious gluten free dessert as well.
