Anyone who loves delicious cakes and pastries should try this place at least once! The next visit is a must, either way. Simply a wonderful little café with great service, incredibly delicious pastries, and savory options too! And the best part: gluten-free and vegans, as well as other allergy sufferers, will also find their money's worth here!
Thanks to Raphaela for giving Vienna this wonderful café with her delicious creations ❤️
Gluten free- was amazing very tasty. When asking for GF bagel they asked if it was important to prepare in separate area which they did and wore new gloves and toasted in cover to reduce cross contamination. Good choice options. Would recommend for celiacs
The food here is always so so so good! The staff is always very friendly, and they mostly offer vegan and gluten-free meals. The SG is especially recommended in the summer, when you can sit in the garden, which is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Mariahilferstraße. Unfortunately, it's often full because there aren't many seats available—it's best to make a reservation well in advance.
I had the French bagel, it was delicious BUT it's goat cheese with a skin around it, so if you don't like that, you should get a different bagel :). There are also lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and they're gluten-free!
Great location in a historic Viennese Cafe. Food choices are typical Austrian fare- Schnitzel, Asparagus, Steak, Salads, Fries, Pancakes, ice cream
Limited menu for gluten intolerant but dishes are good.
The best cupcakes ever and so many different gluten-free ones!!!! The place is simply cute and cozy! You feel at home here, very nice!! The waitresses were very nice, friendly and not aloof!!! I'm already looking forward to my next visit and bite into a super good cupcake!!!!
I was looking for a breakfast place in Vienna, and this was an amazing spot to stop! Very busy when I went, but I was able to find a table and be served quickly and kindly. I am celiac, so the gluten free bread was a great addition and the eggs were delicious! The flat white was also one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend coming here!
We went for breakfast. We found a comfortable place since we went early in the morning. We ordered two different breakfasts. In my breakfast, the tomatoes that were supposed to be roasted were not roasted, but the breakfast was delicious. In the other breakfast, we changed the breads on the side to gluten-free ones, which was a nice opportunity and it was delicious. In general, what we ate was very delicious. When we first sat down, they immediately asked if we wanted something to drink and we said no. Later, while ordering breakfast, they asked if we wanted something to drink and we said no. They kept asking if we wanted something to drink and we kept saying no. Also, the waiters kept looking at you and asking if you finished your food or if you finished, you were under constant surveillance and this is really not a rude behavior!
I've enjoyed going to Schopenhauer for years. Either for breakfast or simply for a coffee. All breakfast dishes can also be made with gluten-free bread and cakes are usually also available in gluten-free form. All in all a very cozy cafe
I had a piece of cake, which I didn't like at all.
The texture of the cream was grainy.
The crust, probabily made according to a vegan recipe, was not a real crust, but a sticky mix of nuts.
Moreover the whole thing was way too sweet for me.
I have troubles with gluten, and some nuts, and that's already enough penalizing, I can't bear also vegans restrictions.
Specialty coffee place in Vienna. Won the Austrian coffee championship and also Europe/Austria best coffee place. Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The coffee is really good and the cakes are of great variety. We tried the vegan banana bread which was amazing (even for a non vegan) and the gluten free chocolate banana salted caramel…..reallyyyyy good. Must try!
I came from Graz with my mother for lunch and we were treated very kindly at the reception. In general, the service was very courteous and had the classic Viennese humor, but without being arrogant. Now to the food: My mother ordered a classic goulash, and I ordered a gluten-free chicken schnitzel due to gluten sensitivity. We were both very satisfied, the price was absolutely justified based on both the quality and the quantity. We were also both very happy with the coffee and cake. The naturally gluten-free Esterhazy, for example, was excellent, and the wide selection of newspapers was a pleasant bonus. All in all, the early afternoon at Café Hummel brought some light into rainy Vienna. We will definitely come back when we are in Vienna again!
We enjoyed an excellent "Black Forest" in this large, superb room with a superb view. Very good coffee. A rare asset: Offer of a gluten-free cake for our friends who are allergic to it. Very good coffee. Friendly and efficient service. Price a little high but....we are in Schoenbrun.

This is an amazing place. I'm vegan as well as soya and gluten-free. That doesn't leave me with many options, but here at Cafe Harvest, I had a real meal. The atmosphere was very cosy and the staff were very helpful.
I had the beyond burger meal with a glass of the house read, and it was beyond wonderful. 😊
Thank you.

A wonderful cafe the upper floor where the cafe is is so beautifully decorated. The service was great, attentive and super nice. Really great! The cakes and breakfast variations are great. The eggbenedikt is perfect! The gluten-free cake is a dream! Absolutely go!
Very classy cafe. Quiet and great cake selection .. pricey but no tourist trap. The house tea was amazing.
My girlfriend is dairy free and they have an amazing allergy menu. She had the "Rehrücken" which was gluten- and dairy free. She loved it and I liked it too.
I had the hot chocolate again. Probably the best hit chocolate I ever had. Rich, creamy, not too sweet. Amazing. Priced accordingly at €9, but you get what you pay for.
An inconspicuous coffee from the outside with an even more cozy atmosphere inside. The breakfast selection is simply brilliant and there is something for everyone! Whether vegan, gluten-free or not, there are balanced and healthy dishes for everyone here!
The service is super friendly and very attentive.
A great place for weekend brunch. For people with celiac disease there is the option to choose gluten-free bread for breakfast and vegetarian/vegan options are also available. The service is very courteous and the price-performance ratio is right.
We went there because of the gluten free options. In the menu there were several gluten free cakes and macarons, but the waiter recommended just one cake and the macarons as really safe. We tried both, and they were good.
How beautiful, authentic, cozy—how lovingly detailed the ambiance is! Enchanting! The cakes taste so good, and some of the selections are gluten-free. The concept is social, and the people who work here are very kind. Excellent value for money. Be sure to reserve a table online.
We love this place - a real, authentic, non-tourist-overrun cafe with a cool social mission (they employ asylum-seekers and refugees as servers). There's the usual wonderful Austrian food, beautifully done, as well as a few vegan options and even gluten-free fresh, hot Semmel (Kaiser rolls). A total winner.
We stayed at the Hotel Zeitgeist for three nights. The hotel is modern yet comfortably furnished and you immediately feel at home. The rooms are spacious and bright. The large bed in particular offers great relaxation after a strenuous day. There is also fast WiFi. The breakfast selection offers everything you can imagine. The vegan and gluten-free options are particularly noteworthy here. The inner courtyard invites you to linger and we especially enjoyed playing boccia. It's great that you can simply rent these leisure equipment.
In the evening I recommend a nightcap at the bar, with a good selection.
Overall, a very nice hotel in a top location, just a few minutes' walk from the main train station.
Really elegant place. Maybe the food isn't the best in Vienna but it's tasty and delicate. We had a sacher, a Kilmt cake and a Esterhazy cake. My favorite was the last one, and also gluten free!
Apparently, I was unlucky with the time: I had to wait in a long line outside the cafe for almost 45 minutes until a seat became available. Therefore, please come early in the morning if possible or reserve a table to avoid waiting.
Cafe Central is very pretty. I came here because I considered it a "must-see." Yes, Sigmund Freud and his co-stars were here – but since I spent a few days at Cafe New York in Budapest, I was unfortunately a bit disappointed. The direct comparison was "mean."
There are various gluten-free cakes if you have celiac disease. Unfortunately, these are either nut or soy, so I stuck with a Viennese Melange.
It's also very touristy and crowded. But one major plus: It's not nearly as crammed as Cafe New York in Budapest! There's no live music, but it's much quieter and more cozy.
