Great all around. I have celiac and when I told them, they made sure to cook everything very safely without cross contamination. Thank you! Will be back!
The food is delicious and the portions are generous, with plenty of gluten-free options available. However, be prepared for a wait, as there's usually a line and parking can be quite difficult.
We arrived Saturday around noon and didn't have to wait. Food is always fabulous and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have lots of gluten free and vegan options. Love this place!
Absolutely love them! Service and food is amazing. I am dairy and gluten free and love that I can super yummy crepes with dairy and gluten free options! Wish more places offered that!
There is only one guy here who seems to be in a genuinely good mood and happy to help. I come in frequently because it’s down the street and they have some pretty good gluten free pastries and the coffee is amazing, but I have to admit the service and atmosphere is usually tense. I often feel like I’m bothering the staff.
Wonderful crepe spot in citycentere with delicious options and very attentive staff! A little busy and a little on the loud side, but otherwise an enjoyable experience and worth a stop if you’re in the area. Expect to pay $20-$30 per person. They do have vegan and allergen friendly options on the menu such as gluten free and dairy free. Parking is a bit of a chore, and most of it is paid parking, but there is some free parking available if you’re lucky and willing to walk.
Black Walnut Café is such a great spot for a casual meal with tons of options! As a celiac girlie, I appreciate that they offer clearly marked gluten-free choices and that the staff is knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. I felt safe eating here, and the food was delicious! Whether you’re grabbing brunch, lunch, or dinner, it’s a solid choice for anyone needing gluten-free options in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Food is good but pretty loud inside to have a conversation however we went on a Sunday morning and it was very busy. I like the gluten free options for the pancakes.
Extra $3 for gluten free options. The coffee is good, Crêpes are also good. I prefer the house coffee it’s more than half the price of the other iced ones.

Hi There
Excited to visit this place especially since they offer vegan items. Not many options but a few baked goods.
I purchased a bag of chocolate chip cookies which tasted good but I feel like the flavor and texture should be elevated in today's vegan market.
They also offer gluten free-vegan brownies along with a vegan banana bread and I will definitely try those on my next visit.
Cute place and worth a visit.
I enjoyed the crepes I tasted and my gluten-free waffle. I was glad they had an option for me. Coffee was great, and the service was friendly and helpful. The cook even allowed my friend to instruct him to make her crepe must the way she likes it. Excellent!
First time dining at Black Walnut Cafe. It was busy (as it was Easter), but there were plenty of seats. This is a “seat yourself” establishment, which is not really clear until until you walk into the restaurant. Once my party walked in, there was plenty of choice seating. The servers were professional and friendly and the food was good. The portion sizes were just right, but the gluten free pancakes were a little dry (even with syrup). The kids gluten free cheese burger and fries were good as was the Mac and cheese and grilled chicken. The experience was pleasant and we will definitely visit again.
I was extremely disappointed with the experience here. Which is unfortunate because my first visit a few months ago was extremely positive. From the extreme unprofessionalism of the servers, to the uneducated staff in the kitchen. I was served a gluten filled meal, even though I specifically requested a lettuce wrap and a gluten allergy.. when the food was put in front of me, I told the server it was not correct, and he said “you need to take that to the manager to fix it” instead of offering to take care of it. Overall extremely disappointed and will not be coming back.
New favorite breakfast restaurant in Houston! So many tasty options and they even have Gluten Free bread! The smoothies and coffee were also sooo good. Aalyssa was out serviced and she was incredible!! Will definitely be back!
My husband and I enjoyed an amazing lunch at Huynh today. The manager Brian took such good care to help us choose something that I could eat with my gluten and dairy free diet and made some amazing recommendations. My favorite part of the meal was the rice “cake” that came with my yummy dish. The food and experience was really above and beyond. We would love to come back in the future.
Really great Greek food. Their side salads are huge and come with a big slice of feta which I enjoyed! The lemon potatoes and pita bread were also delicious and very fresh.
Also, they had labels for gluten-free items!
Update:
They changed the restrooms to both be family friendly! Just need a changing table in the 2nd one but I'm sure that's coming. Thank you, Slowpokes!!!
This place and the employees are amazing. There is plenty of gluten friendly food to choose from and the RR has a changing table. I'm basic so I stick to mocha lattes throughout the year otherwise I'll try some seasonal stuff; and those are really good. I love the atmosphere and how child friendly it is.
Sweet Paris menu shows you can get a crepe Gluten-free, however the sauce is NOT gluten-free, which is misleading. I suffered the affects of eating a crepe. Management should not advertise gluten-free unless it is truly that.
I love the gluten free crepes here. They are great! This place is quiet and clean, you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I have tried a few of their savory crepes which are good and of course the sweet ones are amazing! I’ve tried a few other places and this place has the best gluten free batter.
We have been to this Snooze location multiple times. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. However, today's food experience has ruined my desire to return. I ordered egg whites with my entree and found a hair cooked right in the middle when I sliced it open. They ended up replacing the egg whites. I also ordered a gluten-free blueberry pancake. As I was finishing the pancake while our tab was being closed out (in a rush to leave as we were the last customers), I commented to my husband that the taste and texture were different from past gluten-free pancakes at Snooze, so we printed out our ticket to confirm our order. It clearly stated that it was a GF pancake, so I assumed it was just made "extra fluffy" today. I returned home and started feeling sick; now suffering all the tell-tale signs of an allergic reaction to gluten. I was willing to overlook the hair but serving the wrong non-allergy order is unacceptable. The kitchen staff needs proper training and improvement. Customers shouldn't have to reconfirm their order with their server before eating, but highly recommend those with allergies do so before eating here and at their own risk.
Cute little bakery hidden in the corner of a shopping center. We got our order to go so we could eat in the park, but the shop was clean and had interesting art and decorations. Our treats were beautifully executed and delicious. The sachertorte was a tender and chocolatey gluten free cake that doesn’t sacrifice texture for dietary restrictions.
Omg, the food! We are talking, shut your mouth, slap your pappy good. Everything is vegan, no guessing what you can or cannot eat. Menu is clearly marked for gluten and soy free items.
Ordered through Uber eats. Also, called right after to make sure items were correct. 3 breakfast crepes extra crispy 1 gluten free w extra eggs and cheese. None were marked to make distinction, they all weighed the same and none were crispy. Ordered 6 fruit/sweet sides for 3 different people to which they packed into a single crepe. I called them after order was received and they answered and hung up twice.
I absolutely love this neighborhood cafe. The coffee (drip, Americano, lattes) is always good, and they offer free refills on the drip coffee. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I come here a lot to get work done, and I have always felt welcome. Free WiFi available with purchase for 2 hours. The food is consistently flavorful (try the Torrijas, Shakshouka, and Huevos Agnes for breakfast and the lamb burger for lunch. Their red pepper tomato soup is also delicious and dairy-free!) and their pastries are amazing - specifically the gluten-free banana bread!
Best food in Houston. Local fresh ingredients with a rotating specials menu - there is something to eat for everyone. Great place for dairy, gluten alternatives. Love their almond waffles, salads, and paleo vegan cookies!
The lemon blueberry scone and the iced chia tea latte are both very good. The scone and the coffee cake are both gluten-free so I was able to get a treat with my chia tea. I ate my scone before I remembered to take a picture. That's how good it was.
No parking, which didn't make a lot of sense because it doesn't appear to have a sit down space.
The Gluten Free banana chocolate chip muffin was amazing though and my Latte was fabulous. My friend's Americano was a bit hot, probably because he didn't have any milk added to it.
Will for sure be back
Great place. Staff is fabulous. My daughter loves the pepperoni pizza and I did like the gluten free crust margarita pizza although it definitely could have used more cheese. We have a service dog and they are always super accommodating. Very lively place. Has a very good energy and there are always several larger groups there even on weekdays.
Snooze never disappoints. Food is always on point. The service is excellent. The only thing I would say is the inside seating area is usually very loud and busy. If it’s a comfortable weather day I recommend sitting outside. If you like pancakes a side order of the pancake of the month is always a treat! See pictures below of this months do it pancake. On our last visit I accidentally forgot to ask for the gluten free version of my food because of my celiac. I only realized when my food was brought out to the table. Our waitress was very kind and had my meal remade and did not add anything to our bill. One of the best places for brunch!

Interesting flavors for the Mochi donut and shaved ice. While you'd think the smell of sugar and the toppings could lead to the biggest sugar rush, you'll be happy to know that mochi donuts contain about half the calories of regular doughnuts, making them a much healthier alternative. An added plus is that they are also gluten-free.
Didn't try the unique potato dish but others in the place were ordering them so maybe next time.
Met with a friend for lunch here and we really enjoyed it. While they provide a lot of dairy free beverages, the food and pastry menu lacks the same diversity. I was able to have a gluten free dessert. The honey lavender cheesecake was rich and fresh. For lunch I had the chicken Caesar wrap. It was good and light but the bacon bits tasted a little tough. My son had the bacon egg and cheese croissant, he enjoyed it but I think the croissant may have been toasted a little too long because he had crumbs everywhere. Overall we enjoyed our experience and it wad great. There was a young lady with colorful pink and purple hair that was helpful with the menu and greeted us when we came in.
Stuffed avocado was good. I would love to try the stuffed breakfast avocado! 🥑 Variety of pastries and treats that are gluten and dairy free. Aesthetically pleasing setup. Will return!
