Celebrated a major family birthday there. Our server was awesome. The table d'hote was so amazing that most of us got something off that, but we had a few things off their extensive main menu as well. Superb food, great atmosphere. Music is not too loud so you can have great conversations. Good gluten free options for many of the menu items, and they take it seriously. They also adapted a menu item for a family member with a few sensitivities. Excellent experience, we will be back!
Great food
Dominic gave us a fantastic service
I am celiac, he made sure with the kitchen that my dietary needs were met.
Excellent food everybody loved it
Great birthday dinner
Merci!
Note to Elixor manager: Dominic needs a raise best waiter I ever met!
First time going. Looks like a hole in the wall place but great atmosphere and food and decent prices! Extensive menu with gluten free options. Great breakfast place for our young family of 3. Will definitely come again! Was a pleasant discovery!
This is the third Escondite I’ve dined at and I’ve had a great experience at all of them! I took my cousins here for the best tacos I’ve had in Montreal and they were both very happy with their food and drinks and would come again next time they visit! Our waitress was very nice, had great recommendations and even helped accommodate my gluten allergy. I highly recommend the cilantro smash, any of the mojitos and the cauliflower tacos 😋
Good place to explore mexican food, great atmosphere, good service, try the ceviche and the lamb, delicious also they have gluten free food, ask the waiters for details
I went for dinner with my husband last night and wanted to try this restaurant for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised that there actually was a good number of options for gluten-free food as my husband cannot eat gluten. Overall, they do not have a massive menu selection to choose from, but in this case I think it's quality over quantity (a very good thing) - the items they do have on the menu they can really focus on making sure it comes out with great quality: excellent presentation, flavor, etc. The alcoholic beverages (cocktails) are very pricy but do taste great and aren't watered down.
The overall ambiance of the place is cozy and the noise level is acceptable for a bar-restaurant. However, had I known better, I would not sit at the table which is directly under the AC unit again (it drips a lil bit of condensation) - that was the only minor issue I had with the whole experience (and kinda my fault for picking the spot before realizing about the AC dripping). Bistro Nolah - if you guys are reading this, maybe move that particular table a bit further out from the wall so the AC unit cannot drip on the table directly below it.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, helpful in answering any questions we had about the food, attentive (checking if everything is to our liking, asking if we need/want anything else, etc. at reasonable intervals), and also bilingual which I appreciated (I do speak/understand a bit of basic French, but English is still my main language). We were provided with 1 bread roll per person with their special chipotle butter (? I think) and I got to enjoy both 😅 (I did feel a bit bad for my husband missing out). For appetizers, my husband got a creamy corn soup and I got the boneless fried chicken. The corn soup was creamy, savory and refreshing (I took a lil taste test) and the chicken was fried to perfection - tender and crispy with a nice sweet and mildly spicy sauce drizzled on it. For the main entrée, we both went for the Beef Short Ribs with mashed sweet potato and vegetables which we both enjoyed. For dessert, my husband got the gluten-free Chocolate Torte, and I went for another round of the boneless fried chicken as strange as that might be (I'm trying to eat less sweets and the chicken was just too good for me to not to get seconds). I wanted to give my compliments/thanks to the chef(s) at the end because I was very impressed with how delicious everything was. We had an enjoyable evening here and would recommend this cozy lil bar-restaurant.
Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of walking through the doors of Jukebox restaurant. 🍔🌯🍨🧋😋
As soon as we entered, we were pleasantly greeted by Josée who considerately asked us if we were hot, in order for us to decide if we wanted to be seated in an air conditioned section of the restaurant.
Josée kindly asking us this demonstrated that she values Jukebox's customers being comfortable. 🥰
Our experience at this well known diner got even better when our waitress, Krystal, informed us that she would be taking care of us.
And believe me, that she did!
Krystal was an absolute gem of a waitress from the beginning to end of our time at Jukebox! 💎
She ensured that our glasses of water were full at all times, was able to impeccably explain menu items advising us of the vegetarian, gluten-free options, offered on point recommendations for our meal choices and pleasantly chatted with us throughout our time at Jukebox.
This West Island eatery is extremely fortunate to have an exemplary employee like Krystal. 🏆✨️👌🏽
We were completely satisfied with our meals. 😋
From the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap 🌯, to the Béliveau Burger 🍔, to the comforting, creamy Mac and Cheese 🧀 ended off with the delectable and delicious desserts of the Big Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with ice cream 🍪🍨 and a Pineapple Banana Smoothie 🍍🍌.
Jukebox always provides mouth watering meals. 🤤😁
Being a music lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent musical selections that played while we dined as well. 😍🎶💯
At times we were dancing while eating our scrumptious lunch. 😄
Way to go Jukebox!! 👏🏽🎉 Definitely a 5/5 star rating without hesitation!! 🌟
Coming to your restaurant was without a doubt worth the drive across town. 🚗
We will certainly be back again!! 😁
Until the next time...
As expected on a Saturday, it was quite busy but I'm pleased the wait was very short. Unfortunately, our waiter left halfway through taking our order to take plates to other tables and messed up one of the side items. Most importantly - the food was mediocre as best. The fruit that came on the side of our dishes were gross and berderline moldy, some were frozen, and all was rubbery. The gluten free crepes were a disgrace to humankind. My smoked meat breakfast poutine was flavorless and very displeasing despite the array of ingredients. The breakfast potatos were very mediocre. The two saving graces : the eggs were pretty okay, and the mashed potatoes were delightful and garlicky. I could however complain about the food some more, but I'll save that for the next guy.
I ordered a takeout meal which consisted of a gluten free burger with fries and a caesar salad. My meal was delicious and prepared exactly as I asked. Thank you.
This restaurant has implemented a lot of safety measures in order to pick-up safely. Fast and easy process when I went to pick up my food, in and out. I picked up food for 7 people and one of the cooks made sure himself that each item was there just to make sure i dont drive off without something. HE offers great client service and his energy is what makes marathon at this location so great. Wish I could have given my entire tip to him. Next time.
Offers gluten free fries for those of you who didn't know
I drove from Ottawa to surprise my Mom for her birthday (75), staff were super accommodating and were in on our scenario from the start. Server was awesome, was there without us asking or having to ask for anything. AND.. one big thing, my Gluten friendly diet daughter did not have any issue finding anything to eat on the menu, which for her can be a stressful and let down for such an event.. we were not let down and she had a delicious meal. All in all a super experience. Also, as an out of towner… parking can be a thing…. And there is tones!!! As it is next to a mall! Win Win! In the end, they let us have our great special, inter-generation evening ‘our way’ we were well served, were not kept wanting for anything and they let us have our moment as a family!….for that I say a big thank you! Oh oh…and they are bilingual…you are welcomed with a ‘Hello-Bonjour’ to me that means a lot as a francophone.

I recommend it for people with dietary restrictions such as gluten. It was a good experience for me! Thank you for the professional and respectful service!
This Thai Express is really good at following dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan orders. They are able to make most sauces vegan friendly.
Exceptional Catering Service!!!
If you’re already a fan of Lab à Mémé at Marché de l’Ouest—whether for dine-in or takeout— you have to try their catering service for your next family gathering or professional event. Honestly, it’s a hidden gem you’ll want to keep coming back to. Selina puts so much care into everything she makes, and it really shows.
We worked together to create custom menus for my guests (including omnivores, vegans, and gluten-free eaters), and everyone loooooved the food—every single time.
Some of the highlights: exotic fruit platters, nurunji, chocolate truffles, matcha drizzles, beef or tofu kimbaps, chicken skewers… just to name a few.
Each event was a breeze to plan—super easy communication, personalized menus, beautifully presented dishes, thoughtful little details, and honestly, prices that are hard to beat.
Check out the photos for a glimpse of what she does. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough—try it once, and you'll be hooked!
