Amazing that they have gluten free, but does feel like they've lost a bit of their spark.
Been going down a couple of times a year, and seems to be less impressive food. Food was nothing special, which is a shame considering the cost. Also, when asked how everything was, I said the soft drinks needed checking as the lemonade was just soda, they did apologise but didn't change the drink (id only had a sip) and nothing was taken off the bill. Perhaps I should have been clearer on my expectations. That being said it's a shame it wasn't quite up to scratch as it used to be a real gem.
I have been to the Salt & Malt in Bristol centre and this had a much better feel and different menu options.
I live local I’m gluten free there’s a new woman I asked for gluten free battered haloomi and she gave me the wrong one luckily I looked at it and knew it was wrong if I ate it I would of ended up severly ill!!!!!!!!!!!

Owen was fantastic with us. After recently being diagnosed with Coeliac disease he assured me of all the safety protocols that are in place at Pho, and took the time to go through the menu with me.
The food was lovely! First time eating at Pho, and certainly won’t be the last!!
Tldr: Some of the friendliest staff ive ever met, amazing gluten free options, one of the most beautiful atmospheres, 10/10!
I dont usually eat alone at restaurants so was a bit nervous but every member of staff who spoke to me was so kind and so thoughtful and made my experience so nice. Gluten free menu had a lot of options but i went for the butchers brunch i think it was called?? absolutely AMAZING. There is a lot of space for sitting so it doesnt feel super cramped and absolutely gorgeous interior. i had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning! cant recommend enough :]]
I did also go in around 1pm and it was fairly quiet, so i imagine if you go later in the day itd be busier so if you want to go when its quiet id suggest 1pm or earlier!!
Gluten free pies and amazing ones. Coeliac safe though always a risk of cross contamination. Amazing pies and fun place. Rather noisy when full otherwise highly recommend.
First time in the New Porto Lounge. Really impressed. Good food, excellent provision for gluten free, lots of space and very relaxing. Thank you so much.
Impero Lounge is right on the High Street in the heart of Portishead, perfect to stop in before a jaunt around the harbour. They’re on a corner with huge floor-to-ceiling windows (that open right up) wrapped around two sides, flooding the vaulted interiors with light. There’s a lovely terrace out the front too, perfect for watching the world go by.
They’ve a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten-free and vegan menus) served in this relaxed, welcoming space. Look out for their mural celebrating Portishead’s old power station and lighthouse. Which is apt, as they’re a bit of a powerhouse and a shining beacon for the hungry and thirsty people of Portishead.
I’m not a bad review type person, but I think it’s necessary. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on here about how nice and lovely the food was and I feel like they’re either being super generous, or they’re a bit delusional and probably have very disposable income. The few I’ve seen regarding the price for what is given in my opinion are most honest. I bought a “Buddha bowl” which I asked for a poached egg with (for an extra £1.25), came to just under £15, to which when it came was practically an empty plate, full of Tescos finest hummus… mmm yaaay!
literally, just a whole bottom layer of pure hummous.. from probably Tesco, (you can tell) with “roasted aubergine & squash” sprinkled on the top, giving the illusion there’s something to dive into. No, it’s definitely just hummus… just Tesco bought hummous. A whole yummy bowl of it, To Then be given ONE SLICE of (coop’s fossilised gluten free bread) CUT INTO THREE FINGER slices. WHAT? Absolute piss take. “Buddha bowl” you know,imagine?.. If Buddha ate that, he’d be Ghandi.
But wait, There’s more..
When I asked for just a little more bread to go with my mousse, I was told it would cost an extra £2.15 .. oh nice. If I wanted another rationed dry toasted finger slice of gluten free co cop branded crackers, I should pay for it. Sweet. Gotcha..
Maybe I should’ve got another egg, it’s cheaper.
Then in all the madness, besides my 3 thin slices of flavourless avocado, was the juicy “red cabbage salad” about literally 7 shreds (I’m not exaggerating at all), of cabbage and a chunk of core. Right there, I saw it, with my eyes, not even hiding. Just outrageous. What do they do measure it in milligrams?
I told the girls behind the counter and we agreed on the audacity, however no refund was offered. I guess I’d gone too far to ask for money back once I dived into the lake of deception. Assuming I was getting a mouthful of aubergine. She noted my complaint, reasoned & said she’d mention it to the head chef, who I think should rather consider converting to a shakes and smoothies lounge, because thankfully the smoothie was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Service for me was decent, nice girls, accommodating energy and the sofa was comfy.. but food prices/quality deserves a slap.
I met my friend at Tesoro Lounge today. Very happy to see a whole menu with lots of choice of gluten free meals. The service was great and the food was delicious. When I went to pay for my drinks and pudding I was told it was on the house as a random act of kindness! This totally made my day!
I phoned to enquire about gluten free options leaving a message requesting a call back - never called back so based on this lack of service I will not visit
This place is incredible. I've been gluten free for 3 years and never have I had a good gluten free cookie. I just didn't think it was possible. This place makes them and they genuinely are so amazing so chewy. Absolutely divine, and all the drinks are delicious! Really really lovely staff and I've heard the lunches are amazing too
Great battered halloumi and chips and cheesy chips. Other chip shops I've tried locally don't offer halloumi. They have a separate fryer for gluten intolerance. Friendly helpful members of staff. Quick service
I have Coeliac disease, and Côte is one of my favorite safe restaurants in Bristol. My husband and I try to plan a date night here every couple of months. I always feel well cared for by staff, and the extra touches of separate GF menus and GF flags in the food are greatly appreciated. The food is exquisite every time we dine in, and we enjoy tasting new recipes as well as ordering tried and true menu items. Côte will remain one of my go-to restaurants for as long as I live in Bristol.
We were served by Joe and Evan tonight, who gave very friendly, down to earth service. The food had great flavours, restaurant is lovely atmosphere, and there are many options for my partner who is coeliac. This was our first time visiting after being recommended by a colleague, and it was made really special by the team. We will definitely return again soon
First time coming here, the door host was lovely and efficient.
We were then seated and the waiter Nick came over straight away. He was so polite and genuinely happy, he could not of been more helpful. He’s attitude and mannerism made our experience very special.
I have an allergy so he got the manager Cameron to come over and take my order, who then explained the process and preparation of the food. Which was lovely, it made me feel confident and at ease eating here.
My partner had steak with he’s food and said it was very tasty. My food was delicious and came out so fast.
We was so pleased with the food and service received.
My only critique would be to have gluten free sauces readily available on the table with the others.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat and to make use of the £5 pasta. Lots of gluten free options for me which was nice. Food came in good time and the service from Gabriela was brilliant.
