We just visited on our vacation to the North Shore. We were blown away by this great pizza restaurant!
We started with the garlic cheese toast. I believe it had cilantro on top which was delicious. There was a hearty serving of marinara included, and it was only $1 to add another marinara.
My daughter ordered the spinach salad - it had a great balance of savory and sweet, and was a good-sized portion.
I ordered the Hulapeño pizza. I don't like pineapple on pizza, so I requested it removed, however when it showed up at the table it was included. I was really hungry from a full day of hiking, and didn't want to wait for another pizza to be made. It was so delicious with the pineapple! The real star, though, was the Hot Honey - I couldn't get enough of it! Who thought that would be great with pizza?? Such a delicious combo!!
I have a vegetarian son, and we were astounded by all of the vegetarian options available! Vegan bacon, sausage, pepperoni, and more. Also there were vegan cheese available and gluten-free options. I felt that the variety was more than any restaurant in the much larger city we're from!
The atmosphere inside was great. Lots of outstanding local art on the walls to enjoy and available for purchase. A really cool avocado table for big groups. And you can watch them toss pizza crust while you're sitting at a table, which is always fun.
The area outside was the only place I felt a little unsafe on our travels, and I skirted the kids away after one Pokemon Go battle.
This restaurant is definitely on my list when we return to Duluth!
So here's the thing, it's a great spot, and if you dine in, the food is pretty good. They hand-pour cherry Coke on request and take pride in their beer offerings, too. Twin Cities natives LOVE them their local Pizza Luce.
BUT - and it's a BIG but (sans Sir Mix-a-Lot) - I got nasty food poisoning from their chicken wings last year, and haven't been able to look at chicken wings since. They also have a problem remembering to add extra cheese on their pizza when you order online. Has happened several times when I've ordered delivery as well as pick-up. Both of these issues are specific to the Roseville location.
On the other hand, Katie at the Selby location in St Paul is wonderful if you're lucky enough to be in her service. I was there last week with a VERY diverse group of people - there were about 10 of us - and she was great. She was even juggling a late Friday night when the carbonation ran out at the bar, so no carbonated drinks. They also ran out of their summer special pizza (Taco Supreme), and the kitchen dropped one of our orders. Katie was pleasant, kind, generous, on top of it. She handled her business, as we say in NYC, amidst the chaos. Kudos to you, Katie. I hope you -and your corporate boss - see this review, because you're the reason I will continue to recommend Pizza Luce despite clear ops issues.
The vegan meatballs are pretty good, and even have a fire-seared flavor to them that's unexpected in vegan products.
I happen to be an omnivore, and also tried the meat meatballs, which are also quite good - though I don't recommend mixing and matching.
Generally, the pizzas are super yum, but have a thin, crispy crust, fyi. Also important: they have a pretty good gluten-free selection, including the pizzas.
I recommend asking about spiciness if you have sensitivity to burning foods, though. Not everything with "kick" is labeled on the menu.
So, after all of that, I still go. I still recommend them. Just know that there may be a learning curve, so I also recommend you go with locals the first few times if you're a traveler or a transplant.
Cheers
Great food and service and careful preparation for celiacs. They have a separate gluten free menu. They bring gluten free bread and separate butter to start out with which is a nice touch. And they have the best gluten free spinach dip with crostini and flourless cake! We’ve been here many times and enjoyed it every time.
This is one of the best and most authentic pizza places I have been to. I loved the amount of variety they had for vegetarians and on top of that for vegan and gluten free options. Every single item on the pizza tasted very fresh and melted in the mouth. The server recommended us a local beer and it was amazing as well. Overall a great dining experience after our visit to the nearby Minnehaha Falls. Will surely visit again and wish they had more outlets outside MIneapolis.
My wife and I had the welcome party for our wedding here and Halina and the rest of the Number 12 crew were amazing! Halina took extra care to put together a wonderful charcuterie appetizer for us, and they did a fantastic job accommodating one of our gluten free guests. The space was perfect for mingling with everyone and there was space for the kids to play games outside. I can’t recommend this place enough for an event, or even just a delicious drink!
I have severe celiac and I safely ate delicious food here! My server was kind and knowledgeable. I was told by my partner and brother that the gluten food was also delicious.
Wanted to love this place as the outside seating is amazing. I liked the live entertainment a lot but during breaks it would switch over to explicit content with children present. My big problem is I came here for the gluten free menu as it is a decent size. My first question was about a separate fryer to which the waitress said well it's supposed to be but you never know. So I ordered tacos from the gf menu which she asked if I would like the flour ones, no I've said several times gf. Towards the end I started to feel sick so we left early and when looking at my ticket I seen she only rang up some of the items gf while others not even though my whole order was. Hopefully this is just a server problem and not the establishment.
Been on n off.Not the best Fish n Chips I've had there or curds just arnt the same Gluten free but yet cook things in 1 vat.I get sick each time Don't say Gluten free or sensitive if they are not.

Food surprisingly not good and servers unhelpful and unprofessional. Neat looking place, however.
We booked the large room for a large group to watch a family member live on TV 10/29/24. The waitresses were not helpful at all and almost never checked on us. One in our party requested gluten free (has an allergy) and the waitress was "positive" she put the order in right and that the tortillas were corn but never came to actually check, just dismissed us. We told her twice but she didn't even come look, just told us they are corn for sure. They were not corn. So when she finally realized at the end after we were leaving, they remade the tacos with corn and she had to take it to go. Not being cautious with allergies is very unprofessional and can be dangerous. Some people were done eating while others were waiting to give their order. Not a good experience at all and I hope management talked with the one server in particular. A group of 20+ will not be coming back mainly for the service and partially for the food.

I called ahead to ask if they have Gluten Free options for lunch. I was informed that they do and substitutions they have. So we arrived, unloaded my special needs child, walked in to find out they were closed for a special event. Thanks for making it harder for this mama on Mother’s Day. All could’ve been avoided by just letting me know on the phone five minutes prior when I called.
The best pizza my husband and I have had in a long time!! Gluten-free crust was delicious, great service ( young bartender). I can't recommend this place enough.
Chili with gluten free cornbread is heavenly. Being from the south, it’s hard to find good cornbread. Reminded me of my granny’s.
Also, best gluten free brownie I have had in my life. I was full ages ago, but scarfed everything down. I will be back!

Watch out, Rochester, this gem is amazing. Not only do they have one of the best gluten-free options I have seen, but the regular food is amazing as well. 6 stars.
My niece and I need to eat gluten free and dairy free and we were able to choose from a nice variety of foods. Everyone else in our group loved their food and drink! Friendly and attentive staff!

The owner and bartender were very attentive and caring. They offered gluten-free buns and pizza, and the special was a big burger with tater tots for only $6. The drinks and beer were great, and they also had gluten-free options available. I can't wait to go back again!
The service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. The food was decent, but not amazing. I think they are trying really hard to get the farm to table, real food feel, but fall short in a couple of areas. They should use real ketchup, and the cheese on their cheeseburger was like plastic. Also, there weren't very many vegetable options. We asked for the brussel sprouts to be sauteed instead of fried, but they wouldn't do it. That was disappointing. Glad they have some gluten free options. The chicken was excellent- you can tell it's high quality. We will definitely come back, but I hope they try to raise the bar on their other ingredients and not use so much vegetable oils, but instead use butter, lard, or things that really do come from a farm.
Update: we did get a phone call from the owner who said normally they can make vegetables with butter in a pan. Appreciate the follow up.

Great atmosphere. Mead is great! Their menu offers gluten free pizza (heggies frozen) and on the phone they said they have pans and utensils just for gluten free. However watching them unload the pizza, their "gluten free pans" are mesh! So not protected at all from cross contamination. If I were alone I would have returned it. However my wife was hungry so she could eat it. This was a major disappointment.
The mead however was amazing. The selection of meads was great. The atmosphere was also very cool. If you aren't Celiac this is a great place. If you are a celiac, make sure to eat before coming here.
Lovely date spot with great cocktails. Good gluten free options but I was informed it is not a dedicated GF kitchen. The Anne with an E cocktail was top notch! The Tia Maria coffee pudding was DELICIOUS. The Old Fashioned left something to be desired. Ambiance great, lovely decor, surreal to imagine I was doing Utkatasana in this same room in the Before Times.
A little bit of everything for everyone and a great labeled and specific Gluten Free Menu! I was able to get the grilled prawns, the GF bread (which for $22 and a few slices felt a little pricey, but the bread was great) and the pasta and could share fries with the table. Our server made sure to make note and when the food came out they made sure to say, gluten free pasta, so it was easy to rest assured my food was GF!
Great place to go for dinner and a movie! Alamo stocks gluten free buns and pizza crusts, along with a handful of other naturally GF menu items (popcorn, chips and queso, etc)
