I was there an hour 40mins ago and bought brownie cheesecake slice and a Mince & Cheese pie which they heated up from cold for me, made today apparently. Together they cost me $17.50!! There are no prices displayed so if you're going here expecting to be satisfied on a typical NZ bakery budget then think again, the gluten free premium is rife here. Do note the lack of stars on this review reflects only on the pie of which I'm disappointed, I am half way through the pie now and I still haven't tasted the filling. For what I'm guessing is a $9 pie it's not up to par compared to much better pies in the Wellington region that are cheaper and packed to the brim with filling. Speaking of which I've gotten to the filling at last and it tastes great but still no sign of cheese. Upon finishing the pie now my conclusion is there's less than 1 teaspoon of cheese in this pie. Sorry guys but my experience of a most basic pie is lacklustre. Unlikely this review will directly affect your high rating but pie wanters should know what to expect.

First time here today and I'm blown away by the food and service. 10/10 for the Gluten free, Dairy free variety of food they have. Nice, cosy and tucked away slightly outside of Havelock city center. I never felt so good after having so much food!! Must visit specially for the gf,DF, v options and a variety of fig products!

Really yummy! Only downside is the cost, but whatever I get I can barely finish - so you definitely get what you pay for 🍨 And amazing plus side is the gluten free range!

As a coeliac and lactose intolerant person I was happy to find a place that was able to safely cater for breakfast and lunch! I didn’t love my breakfast, but I LOVED the chicken Vietnamese salad I had for lunch. Like it was the best lunch I had in my New Zealand travels. They are coeliac aware and take extra care with gluten free meals. Nice staff members and pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed my coffee too!

I almost never go into town, but I will more regularly to go to this cafe. I'm not on a plant-based diet, but that doesn't matter - their selection is huge, healthy and delicious, service excellent. (Also tons of gluten free options)

So, so happy to have discovered the cozy corner cafe. We're not locals but will definitely be coming back anytime we're in Taupo. This place is a gem and a rare find! Most cafes offer gluten-free, vegan etc as one or two options on their menu as an added consideration for those with dietary requirements. This place caters to virtually every dietary requirement as the basis of their menu, whilst still offering what you'd expect from any cafe. The food is delicious, as well as great coffee. Super highly recommended! I wish there were more cafes around like this

We were greeted with smiles and welcomed. We ordered breakfast and my partner is celiac, we asked for gf bread and the lovely lady instantly asked if she was celiac, so that was amazing. We sat down and it felt like we had only just planted out bums on the seats and our amazing iced coffees and chocolates came and very shortly after our yummy breakfast was on our table. Yummy food, really reasonable prices and fast! Very impressed. We love trying new cafes here in waihi when we visit and super happy we got the opportunity to try the food! Highly recommend showing love to this business.

Absolutely love this cafe. I'm celiac and they have their own cabinet just for gulten free item's. They have tongs just for gulten free item's. The Hot Chocolate are gulten free. Mocca is gulten free first time I had a mocca I could literally enjoy. No zing or burn no reaction. Warm kind staff. Environment very Cosy. Easy to hear conversations. They truly understand people who are allergic.

Incredibly well-managed and very good service at a locally-owned restaurant that truly knows their stuff with keto, coeliac-safe, low FODMAP and other nutritional needs. In two years of living locally and eating here monthly or at least quarterly, we’ve never had a problem with an order nor a bad experience.

The Big Breakfast was big, the long black was delicious, the staff were friendly with a smile and a quip whilst still professional. I can't understand the poor reviews. Our meal arrived in good time - it was obviously freshly cooked. I asked for GF, and nothing was too much trouble. They swopped out my sausage for halloumi, and they hid a tasty tomato under the bacon. Best bit - the potato rosti/hash brown. Beautifully seasoned. There was a whole shelf of gluten-free sweet treats, 7 options! If only I'd had room after breakfast.

What a debacle! Just a couple of snacky ski bums craving a tasty gluten free tender meal after a cracking on the maunga. We love chicken, so this seemed like the perfect choice. It was not. When you think of a chicken tender you think of golden, juicy, tasty, crispy... But how wrong we were to rely on the website photos. What we received was an unseasoned, insipid, whiter than the snow tender with really no redeeming features. For an outfit that specialises in chicken, this was exceptionally bad. Only plus side to this whole shamozzle was the chips. Thank goodness Briscoes and Woolworths are close by to grab the other couple of necessities on this trip. We're not angry, we're just disappointed. Protip: Woolworths is just down the road. Grab yourself a packet of Waitoa gluten free burger fillets and some Makakihi Fries and you'll be waaaaay happier than us. Edit: old mate Owner is (again) saying it was a kids meal... Absolutely wasn't! ...not sure how long they can keep hiding behind that. Poor form to be honest. Get down to countdown - 3x the food, 10x the taste for less pesos
