Amazing for ceoliac! Lots of choice for sauces and the pasta looks exactly the same as the non GF! Sooo yummy, amazing service, great vibe and all round winner! So glad we found this place. Family friendly too!
TL;DR—Delicious, allergy friendly, noisy, cute, family friendly to a point, and reservations required for parties of 4 or more.
SoHo Lane is a cute, crowded, centrally located cafe in Mount Lawley. The food, however, far surpasses any commentary on the decor or locale.
The menu is surprisingly diverse, with unique taste pairings and gorgeous presentation. It’s also consistently delicious, whether ordered in person and enjoyed on site, or ordered through a delivery app—which is an unexpected delight.
The menu is clearly marked for food allergies, and those who are coeliac or gluten sensitive will find plenty to choose from—even chicken and waffles and pancakes!
The only real downside to the cafe is the environment. Mind you, it’s super cute inside with a trendy retro diner feel with distinctly Asian “cutsy” elements, all of which is welcoming and a treat. But the noise levels inside the cafe—and even if you sit outside—are shockingly loud. They also play modern music in the background. Bring noise-canceling headphones for anyone who is noise sensitive. And if you or one of your party are hard of hearing, I would definitely sit outside.
Reservations are critical, especially on holidays and weekends, for parties of 4 or more. However, during the weekdays, it is quite easy to sidle up for a cuppa and a bite without any problem finding a seat.
While it is child friendly in terms of food, I don’t recommend bringing kiddos who can’t sit still. The cafe is small, and there’s no room for wandering.
Be sure to bring along your grocery bags, too—Fresh Foods grocery is right next door, and they have an incredible selection of imported and local foods and treats you don’t want to miss. :)
Fresh WA GROWN Fruit. Gluten Free Cakes and Roast Chickens, and a great choice of specialty condiments. A one stop shop for most groceries.
Cold Meats, Cheeses of all varieties.
Beautiful Bread. Support Local. And good quality.
Our first time here today, and we are very impressed :) The vibe is busy but friendly, the food was absolutely delicious, well presented, and for me the vegan options were great. Good selection of gluten free too. The staff are happy and friendly. 5* and we will return!
Celebrated a couple of Birthdays on a Saturday night..8 of us, including my 3 yo Grandson and Daughter with Coeliac disease. glad I booked… My Daughter enjoyed her Gluten feee pizza and my Grandson devoured a lot of pizza and a hefty helping of mac n cheese ! The place was busy.. Very quick ordering and paying process none the less. Did not wait long for our tasty pizzas. Had to take some home… Staff were polite and efficient. Will definitely go again despite travel involved from Yanchep ! Thank you.
Some of the best sushi i have had. They catered for my gluten free request. They only had 3 options on the menu but created a gluten free tempura crab, it was crispy and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend. Pretty filling as the sushi itself is quite large.
We had the most beautiful dining experience at Bar Vino - food, atmosphere and service all exceptional. Angelo was wonderful - friendly and attentive. As someone with coeliac’s dining out can sometimes be nerve-wracking but I felt completely safe and looked after. The gluten free Italian flatbread with the burrata was the best! Thank you we can’t wait to come back again soon 🤎
A cute cafe run by friendly staff that serves great coffee and food.
The menu and cake/pastry display has some cafe staples and then makes things a little more interesting with options including chilli crab, chilli prawn and miso scrambled eggs. The food is delicious and definitely worth trying for something beyond the standard cafe options. Just be warned that the chilli options have a bit of a spice hit so be prepared if you order them. There's also some options for vegetarians as well as a few for vegans and gluten free.
There's some indoor seating as well as outdoor seating spread out well that, although unfortunately faces a car park, does provide nice spaced out seating. Parking in the parking lot is free for the first hour with a ticket.
Sunday lunch. The main restaurant has a distinct old school/country pub feel about it despite being so close and open to the main bar. Service, whilst a little slow when we were there, is good without being outstanding. Wait time was a bit long however we could see the main bar was busy with people watching football and the restaurant was around 60% occupied.
Food was excellent. Eye fillet for myself and crab/prawn pasta for my wife along with two kids meals. The chips were so good I ordered an extra bowl after my main course. We all were very happy with our choices so thank you to the chef and his choice of offerings.
Last one - thank you for having a Gluten Free beer available to buy at the bar. As someone who is Gluten intolerant this is greatly appreciated.
Visited as part of the mad Mondays AFL discount promotion. Gluten free was included with a add on fee. Both burgers were cooked to perfection with the right amount of sauce. The chips and HFC were hot and crispy. I am coeliac and love visiting places that make dining out is easy, thank you Grill'd! 😊
Bad service, ordered coffee waited & never came, when I complained they made it & said they called our & someone took it, never happened was there entire time & in a hurry so was paying attention, have also given me gluten bread when asked for gluten free toastie on 2 previous occasions.
Bad service & lied when made complaint about the coffee. won't be returning.
