GLUTEN FREE!!!
very nice place, looks beautiful inside, however I ordered food take away, because I didn't have time to seat.
They have area for kids and you can come with your dog.
Food is delicious. My kids can't eat gluten, usually we had problem to go somewhere to eat, now this is game changer. we will definitely come again. Thank you.
PS. "GF Passion Fruit Semifreddo v" is delicious :)
So many options, most of the pasta and pizzas can be made with a gluten free alternative! It also came with a gluten free label on the plate which was reassuring to see!
I was so impressed with this Nando’s and their staff. When I told them I was gluten free without any fuss the manager took my order. And then explained to me how exactly they would make it safe and gluten free. Very appreciate of not making it feel like it’s a problem or having to sign a legal waiver like in some restaurant chains.
Firstly, I love pizza express due to their excellent gluten free range. However, when I recently attended the food wasn’t edible. I ordered the new Gluten Free Spicy Chicken & Chorizo Pasta and the pasta wasn’t cooked properly, it was rock hard.
We waited 20+ minutes for our drink order to be even taken as staff were too busy talking. The environment was incredibly cold that we had to sit and eat our dinner with our coats on.
Why have I never been in Liquid Jade until today? I have no idea because it is absolute gorgeous!
To be fair, it is tucked away through a passage at the side of The Works, but it obviously has a great following as lots of customers arrived during my prolonged tea and cake break.
The main entrance into the cafe is via a short flight of steps but there is a lovely courtyard seating area which is just a few feet further on and on the level.
Decor is lovely-lots of local photographs, splashes of bright sunny yellow and colourful furniture.
The staff are lovely and service very quick.
Good to see gluten-free cake options.
I just had tea and gluten free cake but all the food looked and smelled very tasty.
Will definitely visit again.

Came here last year whilst I was still Vegan and whilst there a few choices of food in the Trinity Market, I had my heart set on a burger and was happy to see a vegan option. And there’s quite a range of amazing burgers, both beef and chicken with Gluten Free options. There’s Dogs too and fries either your choice of spice.
A smashed chickpea burger was my choice and it came in this nicely packaged lump to hold in all the flavour. The burger was good and could have easily eaten another, not to say it wasn’t enough. It was yummy! Fries were decent too with the nice extra of having spice topped on.
The chap behind was jump was friendly, welcoming and took his job seriously and with passion. Obviously you can watch the man at work or go back and sit down and wait for your order to come ready to pick up.
Would certainly come back here again. Especially wanting to try the beef and chicken burgers.
Came here on a recommendation from a friend due to my dietary needs, needing to be dairy free and gluten/egg free. Absolutely loved the food and drink, service was super friendly and helpful. I shall be back again for sure.
Came out for Lunch on a Saturday, had a really nice time. It's hard to find vegan/gluten free food when dining out, so I was fully braced for the challenge. However there was a full plant-based section on the menu, and everything GF was listed too. Easy! I didn't have to ask or go through the ordeal of speaking to a manager with a big allergy binder! What's more, it was all really tasty.
Desert was also good, their dark chocolate sorbe was delicious, and again, novelty for me as it's rare to find desert that I can have when dining out.
The atmosphere was gorgeous, the place is very aesthetically pleasing and the live music was a nice touch as the night drew in.
Service was a tiny bit slow and I got the feeling it was a bit disorganised, however, I put this down to it being a very new establishment, hopefully they will find their flow and this will improve over time :)
Quiet but lovely. Shame its quiet on a week night but I don't think people know its open... lovely place, gluten free and really accommodating. Recommend
Gluten Free Crepes (not waffles) they clean all surfaces and use rice flour on the crepe machine. I was asked if we are Coeliac and was told they are not a certified Coeliac friendly environment but upon questioning I felt very reassured all measures were adhered to.
I ordered a Nutella and Chocolate Sauce Crepe (chocolate sauce was Coeliac friendly and of course Nutella is) unfortunately some ingredients were in display containers so there was no packaging to read so we didn't try anything else like the sprinkles.
As Coeliac's this was a really lovely treat, the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable (Vicky & Bambi).
Definitely worth a visit!
We went out for an early fathers day tea yesterday. The food was amazing! As a coeliac, been able to order practically anything I wanted off the menu was so refreshing! We all ordered something different and not one of us were disappointed with what we got. Everything was super tasty!!
The staff are really lovely too.
Fab place, highly recommend and will definately be coming back!
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. They were able to give us a window table which was great. My husband is gluten intolerant and was catered for well. The food was incredible. Loved the small plates, enabling us to try a variety.
Had a look at the sky garden. This will be lovely in summer.
We will absolutely be back.
This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Hull and East Riding for a while. The food was fresh and high quality. And our waiter Charlie was unfailingly attentive and accommodating. Good Gluten Free options too!
Visited here today for the first time plenty of choices on the menu and plenty of gluten free choices for my wife all at a good price very helpful staff we,l definitely be back
They always have walk in tables which is great. Lots of food and drinks options, gluten and dairy free/vegan as well. Mojito was a bit disappointing, too much ice and no taste :(
Lovely place to visit and eat. Visited again today and the quality is amazing along with the presentation and prices.
Gluten free is available. Friendly staff and a warm welcome always.
A caveat before I rant - the food here is beautiful and the restaurant itself is cracking, used to be a favourite, however last nights experience has made me and my family lose all confidence and won’t be back for a while, if ever.
My missus suffers from celiacs disease, and we rung 2-4 weeks in advance to make sure that when we came all the way from Southampton, it wouldn’t be a journey wasted. With multiple reassurances, we booked here with gluten free options available across the board.
However last night, Friday 14th Feb, valentines… they had hardly any staff in, those that were in were pulled from pillar to post and were young and inexperienced, and didn’t know what gluten allergies was nor what the options were and what was available.
Waited forever for our food, forever for our drinks, forever for service and forever for the bill. Waited that long for a waitress to take our dessert order, that we sacked off desserts all together and just asked for the bill.
A real shame that such a potentially great restaurant is being let down
This cafe is fab!
Situated in the Ferens Art Gallery it is light and spacious with a variety of seating and table options.
Find a seat then order at the counter from the extensive drink and food options, including some really yummy gluten free cakes etc.
They also have a hot drinks card which when filled entitles you to a free hot drink.
Service is really good; the staff are professional and friendly and keep the cafe spotless.
Good access for wheelchairs and prams.
The toilets are a little way away from the cafe but on the same floor (ground floor).
Had lunch with my sister here today. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Everything tasty and hot. The attention to detail and the owners knowledge of gluten free alternatives was impressive.
Absolutely love this cafe. My second time going, and a brilliant service. The cherry cake is delicious, and gluten free!!! Lovely atmosphere, nice and quiet too. Highly recommend! 👍😊
I popped into Baldwin’s just before 12:00 for a cuppa and a cake. I usually eat gluten free so was very pleased to see the salted caramel brownie was gf. It was amazing!
I also had a cup of tea in a really lovely mug. Sadly no oat or soya milk.
It’s ages since I’ve been around that area of Hull so had no idea about Baldwin’s. It was light, airy, immaculately clean with colourful chairs and lots of tables.
The cafe soon started to fill up with people having lunch ( the menu looked very good!) and portions were generous.
Recommended!
Chairs uncomfortable, venue cold. Several times there was noone at the bar and a considerable wait when we went to buy drinks. Only appeared to be one or two staff working. Cocktails in can is disgusting at price that is charged and wish this had been made clearer as would not have ordered cocktails if I knew they were from cans. Said cocktails were as disgusting as expected ice was not offered and incorrect glasses used margarita tasted like fairy liquid, espresso martini sacharin sweet, (you have coffee machines these could easily been made). Less gluten free options than previous visits.
Fabulous bakery, great food options, friendly service and great location.
Not surprisingly not a lot of Gluten Free options in the bakery, but there was one and I was informs that it was very tasty! And the gluten containing bread and other menu items were fabulous for those of us lucky enough to be able to eat them!
We are looking forward to trying the restaurant!
They cater for Coeliacs!! Gloves on, surfaces wiped and you see them make your sandwich. They have wraps or the super soft thins (I opted for that) and I had tuna mayo with lettuce. No reactions for me and it's great to know if you are out and about you can pop here.
No photo available because I started eating as I left the shop!
