For me, this is a perfect posh pub. It’s in a beautiful setting, it’s really well run and the food is fantastic. I only rediscovered the Gomshall Mill last week, on a long walk with a mate. Today, I went back with my wife and enjoyed a really good gluten free haddock chips and mushy peas.
The service was excellent and all our food and drinks were faultless. Thank you so much and we’ll done all you attentive young people serving tables. The place was really busy, with it being the warmest day so far this year. But the dishes came out hot and without undue delay. I’ll be back very soon.,
A beautiful place with a relaxed atmosphere. Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Had a fantastic evening here and would recommend the gluten free pizza - it was delicious.
Amazing place for a bite to eat. Great food all different types most of the menu is gluten free which is a super change to normal places. The staff are friendly and is priced very well. We will be returning soon to eat again. Really impressed
Great menu with lots of vegan and gluten free options, which our party needed! Millie was our server and she was super helpful, friendly and attentive! Thanks Millie!
Stopped in here for a quick birthday lunch yesterday. Food was very nice, lovely patient staff. Obviously a popular choice as it was quite cramped and busy! Gluten free options which was great.
Some points which lost the star:
I got a gluten free potato and leek soup, on the menu it says the bread is toasted, mine was not. Not a massive deal but it’s what I expected.
My latte wasn’t hot, just warm, which seems to have been the case with another review too. We were in a bit of a rush so didn’t say anything.
Would go back though!
Lunchtime visit.
Went off the back of a Jay Rayner review. He was bang on! This place is lovely. Engaging staff, really fresh ingredients made at the open kitchen. Lots of gorgeous flavours running round the mouth long after lunch ended.
Celiac friend also very well catered for.
Many thanks to all at Gordo.
Had a lovely time and good food, our server Lucy was excellent, very friendly and helpful with my boyfriend who is gluten free and also got to have a lovely meal which is a change! Will be coming back again!
Very good food, good price quality. The waiters and the owner are very attentive and friendly. With options for celiacs and vegans. One of the best places in Guildford.
I had a perfect lunch at Megan’s in Guildford today. We sat upstairs; which is beautiful and we’re served with charm and efficiency. The plant based ‘lamb’ is fantastic. I can’t wait to go back. Also, they gave me a gluten free brownie to take home. How kind!
Was happy to find gluten free fish and chips on the menu, the batter was great along with the 3 sauces (including curry). The service was friendly but a bit chaotic hence the 4 score
ELLIE & MERCY Y'ALL. I have a gluten allergy and both of them were so honest and knowledgeable about the allergens, it's really appreciated. Cocktail and food service came really quickly, both Ellie and Mercy were so personable and great energy for a rainy Thursday. Turtle Bay vibes for a bottomless brunch date slaps period
And first time eating thai food and i have a mild gluten allergy the girl who served me was very nice helped me with my order right away and told me what i could order that was gluten free very nice place and very clean...
Thanks MILD
Emma was amazing and we have had four meetings at the pub now and it is really great. I am gluten free and they have a really good range of food. I can highly recommend
I visited this Chipotle with my daughter, who has coeliac disease. We were very pleased to see that the place had a sign, which clearly displayed the allergens in the various food options and also stated that if you told a member of staff you were coeliac, they would wash their hands and change their gloves. This was all very reassuring, as eating out with coeliac disease can sometimes be a challenge.
HOWEVER, when we told the member of staff that my daughter had coeliac disease, he didn't seem to understand what this meant. I had to ask if he could change his gloves, as he had been handling burritos for other customers. He also offered my daughter all of the options available, even the ones that contained gluten! He was very nice and friendly, but this is not really the point. If you are advertising your establishment as catering for food allergies, and specifically for people who have coeliac disease and need to eat gluten free, then the staff really need to be trained to understand what this means and especially the importance of avoiding cross-contamination. Having said all of this, the food was delicious and we enjoyed our meals, but there is certainly room for improvement.
The pizza was pretty good and similar to one you might get in Italy. On of my work colleagues is gluten free and it was nice for the restaurant to have options that catered to him. Overall it’s a bit if a small place, but not cramped. I recommend reserving a table ahead of time as they needed to find a way to fit us in. I’ll probably return when I come back to the area and try something different to experience more of their menu.
Super food, clean cafe. They catered well for Gluten free - I had the Mini-breakfast which included gf sausages, and gf toast too, the portion size was large despite it being the small breakfast. Popular with the locals, outdoor seating at the back. Pet friendly. Would definitely go back.
