First and foremost, it has an extensive gluten-free menu. They even have mock flour tortillas. I would consider El Charro's an upscale Mexican restaurant, but the prices are still very reasonable. And of course, they are famous for their carne seca that can be had in various dishes such as tacos. Sì Charro's, I love this place and have eaten at all of their restaurants in the Tucson area.
Sorry for not writing a review sooner. This review is for November of 2021. Better late than never! This was our first time eating in a MOD Pizza. I was so excited when I saw they had gluten-free pizza crust. This restaurant didn't disappoint! The pizza was outstanding! We dined at this restaurant twice while we vacationed in Oro Valley, staying at the Hilton El Conquistador. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining. It's a clean restaurant with really clean bathrooms! All of the employees were very friendly with smiles on their faces. That's always nice to see, specially while traveling. We loved MOD Pizza so much we made sure to seek them out in other states while we traveled back to Georgia. (Another great MOD Pizza was located in Terrell Texas!) I can honestly say this is the best gluten-free pizza I have ever eaten!
Harvest was our go to place for a safe gluten free meal. The food is very good but the big disappointment was that they have outsourced their homemade gluten free bread. My wife loved their homemade crusty gf herb bread. She got to experience good bread like everyone else at the table. Now their bread is made elsewhere and it’s a loaf of plain white bread. I realize there aren’t as many gf patrons but how hard was it to make gf bread? You’ve lowered your standard on GF options. Now you are like any other restaurant. Please bring it back!
Had a great time at Saffron yesterday. First of all, there are SO many gluten-free options (with the exception of appetizers, but that’s understandable, most are fried). Secondly, the food quality is EXCELLENT. Really enjoyed everything here. My wife, the one with the gluten allergy, had the Chicken Korma, and it was excellent (I tried it). Luis it’s great they offer some northern Indian dishes as well as Southern. I had the saag paneer, also excellent. I went with mild and it was a little hot but still glad I didn’t go with mild (which my wife got for the Korma, she’s less spice tolerant). But the spices are great, the spinach and cheese flavor is excellent, they don’t skimp by ANY means on the portion size overall and on the cubes of farmers cheese specifically. The naan was delicious and warm. The rice is even excellent. And get this, with the take out containers for the leftovers, they offered to include additional rice - who does that? There are restaurants the brow beat you into buying additional rice when you get something to go. Oh by the way, I got samosas to go and they, too, were excellent - great potatoes/peas/spices, love the consistency, and crispy on the outside. Very nice.
Service was over the top and I wish I could remember the name of the young man (blond hair), he was a GREAT server (I just don’t have the receipt with me right now). He got drinks quickly, was very personable and helpful with the menu, and generally a pleasant server who enhanced the dining experience. Adding to the great service was a really nice touch of the visit by the manager asking how our experience was, and even providing a gratis rice pudding to go. Outstanding!
Then there’s the ambiance. It was fun. I know, some of you are thinking “how can an Indian restaurant be fun?” And the answer is, I’m telling you, we had FUN. Because it was great food, excellent service, and while we didn’t sit at the bar, the bar looks cool and they have not just beer and wine but also mixed drinks. Staff appears to be happy working there and worked well together. I can see this being a go-to for us going forward.
Just WOW! Step back in time to the authentic American diner !We all love this place ! The food is so good , the service is excellent , the staff and customers are very friendly, the place is so clean too .
Most importantly, their fries is the best and I can trust that it's gluten free since they don't fry anything in the cooking oil except french fries. Go ahead and enjoy their meals!
Carrabba's had an inviting atmosphere and pretty good service. I was delighted to find a wide variety of gluten-free options and interesting dishes on the menu. I was really excited to try the chicken trio, but it was disappointing as two of the three were over seasoned, and the third was kind of bland. Sorry to be so picky, but I ate the bland one and left most of the others untouched. The vinaigrette on the salad tasted just like the generic brand at Fry's and probably is, which I wouldn't mind if the restaurant weren't trying so hard to be slightly more upscale.
My two companions ordered the same dish, linguine pescatore, and had wildly differing views. One loved it, and the other didn't care it, though I will admit that the one who didn't like it has a very sophisticated palate.
All of which just goes to show that taste is subjective. I will give them another chance because it could have been an off day or I just picked the wrong dish. I don't think it's fair to write a restaurant off just because of one experience. I'll update the review when that happens, but it could be awhile.
We absolutely love this place. Having a place we can safely bring our gluten free son where he can have anything on the menu is priceless! It’s also very clean and the staff is very friendly
Oro valley chipotle is so different than any others
No rushing. Adequate staff. They smile. Happy to accommodate gluten free. They all do that but oro valley does not make it seem like an added pressure. Lovely views. Clean.
I had the cilantro lime bowl with langastino lobster! Yummy!! Also had a gluten free brownie which was delicious also. The staff were very nice friendly and helpful also.
We enjoyed their delicious Thai food and my gluten free wife safely ate her tofu and vegetarian stir fry. The red curry with chicken, broccoli, carrots, bamboo and basil was delicious. I like spicy and medium was plenty. My wife is more sensitive and mild was a little too much for her so next time she'll choose non-spicy. Take out service was quick! Probably 10 minutes order to ready to go.
Gluten free sub available. It's the very dry Udis brand so I ask for mustard on both sides of the bread. They can do an all veggie one too, you can tell them which toppings. I just get L,T, pickle and pepper. But add chips and there goes 10 bucks.
Our waitress Laurie was fantastic very friendly and down to earth my wife is gluten intolerant and they had gluten free bread so my wife had a BLT and I had the Belgium pancakes food was delicious they also have different kinds of drinks on the menu overall 5 stars

For a Safeway, really nice. They neat out Bashas and Frys as far as I'm concerned. Only thing I wish they had that they don't is Boar's Head meats. Sushi is good...save some bucks. They also have a nice Gluten free selection of bread and pastry and great cut up fruit selections. Really nice and clean an d good service....
I have celiac disease (which means I can’t have gluten) so I ordered my meal special and they made it how I asked. So if you can’t have bread they can make it gluten free for you. The people are friendly and family owned I will be coming back for sure.
