Disappointingly, despite numerous gluten-free options on the menu, we were informed that nothing could be safely prepared for coeliacs due to shared cooking surfaces. We were surprised they couldn't accommodate with a clean pan or similar. We finished our drinks and we're then rolled they could do the tacos safe. Make sure you ask all the questions.
Wonderful flavours on the pizzas - clearly they use high-quality ingredients.
They do a very tasty gluten-free pizza base.
The service was friendly; the staff knowledgeable and informative.
We really enjoyed our night.
Finally a gluten free pizza in Darwin.
We have tried a few places around town and it's been a challenge.
Plus the guy who cooked it was down to earth and friendly when we visited.
It's a 9/10 for when I visited.
As 10/10 is impossible for Darwin... maybe in Rome Italy somewhere :-)
Comfortable atmosphere. We had rice paper rolls, the laksa and Vietnamese chicken curry which were all delicious and they were able to make everything gluten free (coeliac).
Nice gluten free options, staff were knowledgeable about which items could be made coeliac safe and were thorough in avoiding cross contamination for me, thank you!
Beautiful spot to enjoy a lazy breakfast, lunch, coffee, or smoothie. Amazing views of the beach. The menu is great, food & drinks were delicious. Good gluten-free, dairy free options. Their is an area of lawn beside the cafe for kids to run around. Outdoor seating for those with dogs. It's definitely a great spot to visit 😊
Some false advertising, the gluten free options are not actually gluten free. I'd recommend the owner taking the gf off those items to avoid confusion and gluten flare ups
Apparently provides gluten free as mentioned on menu. Ordered a gluten free brownie.. thought the crumb was a little biscuit like.. worst fears confirmed .. was a gluten crumb - went from bad to worse - told 'not sure if brownie gf' ..
Unbelievable
If you are gluten free, do not eat here
The whole experience was fantastic. My husband is coeliac and loved the food. Lots of different dishes for him to eat. It's great to be able to go out and not have to worry about him becoming seriously ill. We both loved it.
Such a cute and romantic restaurant. I am vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free and I had an amazing substantial vegetarian bolognaise with the freshest pasta I’ve had at a restaurant. We were served by Lizzie and she was lovely, informative, professional and fun! By far our new favourite place to dine. Thank you Darlings x
Absolutely amazing Greek food, fantastic wine list, great service wow wow wow.
I never thought I’d find the best Greek food of my life in Darwin in this classy restaurant with so many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
First of all the aircon wasn’t even a thing. Secondly, the fans were all locked one way and when you ask to have them rotate the other customers give you a dirty look.
The supposed chilli mud crab was actually sand crab and the prawns tasted like they were frozen for a year no flavour mega watery.
The tables are all cramped that together you don’t even have room to get up and move which made the place even more of a sweat box. Then they had everyone lining up in a line for a buffet which made getting food 10x longer then needed… like just get a plate get what you want real quick and sit back down. hahaha if I want to wait 15 minutes for my food I’ll go to a proper restaurant.
If you are a coeliac or gluten intolerance EVERYTHING was contaminated! Do not risk it.
Positives… the staff was really onto everything aka clearing our tables of plates wiping them down etc getting beverages.also, no parking.
Our server Luci was so great and ensured a personalised dining experienced catering perfectly to gluten free needs. Was fast and efficient with our orders and remembered everything to a T.
What a great burger place. Unlike other fast food chains, they cater for a number of dietary needs. Was able to get a gluten-free burger. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about foods and different dietary conditions. Burgers were very tasty. Thank you for caring and for great service. At least you can call yourself a fully inclusive fast food chain, unlike those other discriminatory burger chains. Highly recommended and would go again.
I have coeliac, but I was totally fine eating here. There were heaps of gluten free options and all delicious! Really friendly staff. Definitely going back.
The tastiest Gluten Free s/p squid I've had in Alice Springs, absolutely great flavoursome Asian food. Good selection for G/F. We have very happy tummies 😊worth every dollar spent.
Enjoyed the both gluten free & vegan options. Most everything was well labeled and if not the chefs were so helpful. Salads, curries, patatas bravas, roasted veg, and numerous desserts to name a few of our favorites. It was great to have a buffet worth it for gf/vegans and non alike!
If you have a dietary require You have to come here. My husband is limited in what he can eat at the moment & eating out hadn’t been easy. No Gluten, no dairy, no eggs & no nuts. We have been here twice in a row due to the amazing service. The staff know their menu and were able to give multiple recommendations.
We came here the second night as we went to another high end restaurant and were looked at like freaks & told no.
The food tastes wonderful & I highly recommend it.
Ps David is a fabulous waiter!
Great location overlooking beach, great layout, and fit out. Despite being quite open, it had enough corners that it was not super noisy.
Menu was extensive, good df and gluten-free options. Lunch was divine, chicken & avocado open grill with delicious salad & chips, yum.. i would return for that routinely! Sandwiches are good. Juice & smoothies were yummy, too.
Service was friendly & fairly efficient. The only reason I gave it 4, not 5 stars, was that service could be improved. Table service would be an improvement. Also, when we went up to order, we were enquiring about menu items & she was not super helpful. The food was a bit slow coming out, but service was ok, it just seemed rushed (it was busy). Table water.. filling jugs yourself was a pain.. can they not be prefilled in a better container? This took ages, it was a very slow filter, gave up after halfway. Small matters, but resolved, could make it a 5/5
Overall, I enjoyed our lunch & would return.
Surprising find in Katherine. A mix of Indian and Vietnamese food, and some fish and chips etc - the Bun Bo Hue was our favourite. Lots of gluten free options especially on the Asian side of the menu.
My experience with this take away place is definitely different to what I read in previous reviews. I had the fried rice with tofu (which is gluten free and vegetarian) and I liked it. It was also enough for dinner.
We arrived at around 19:00 and waited 30 min for two dishes which I think is fine given the size of the restaurant. Oh and there was tofu in the dish!
Borneo intersection is a perfect place for delicious halal Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine. Located on the ground floor of Casuarina Square, it's easy to find. The flavours are authentically vibrant, I had the roti wrap which was truly exceptional. The service was quick and efficient. They also offer a separate menu for gluten-free and vegan options, including dishes like pumpkin curry, green beans, tempeh and tofu all of which tasted incredibly fresh. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.
Gluten-free fish and salad, they accommodated my tomato allergy and left it off my salad. Picture is partly eaten meal. Great veiws on the dock and value for money compared to nearby restaurants.
The food was good and except for the pasta salad gluten free, the bar had nonalcoholic beer and wine which was great too. BUT our whole experience was ruined because Reception at the campground (which is dog friendly) told us we could bring our dog with us for dinner to this pub. However, when I politely asked the staff upon arrival where we could sit with our dog to have dinner I got the most unpleasant, unfriendly response that dogs were not allowed and we should read the sign with the rules ( in the middle of the restaurant where we were not allowed. I mentioned that reception sent us and asked if we should go away. Again a rude response and when I turned the staff member said, well you can site at the table in the far corner, we went there to be told by yet another staff member that we could not sit there. Turns out we could sit at the table and chairs outside the restaurant where the people wait for the bus.
We did sit there and got our drinks and food and ate in the sigarette smoke of the other unfavourite guests. We spoke to other people with a dog who ate at the uncovered tables close to the BBQs but we were not allowed to sit there.
This pub should have a look at the brewery in Alice Springs for example where they allow dogs in the beer garden. Just a few more dig friendly tables is not that hard to set up.
And it is even easier to be friendly and say unfortunately you can't sit under the roof but we have a couple of tables you can use, apologies for the terrible location, this is all we have.
We stopped here for dessert after the Field of Light experience.
The staff were unsure if we could dine just for dessert which was a bit frustrating. Surely that's not an issue?
We got the one gluten free dessert item on the menu, the chocolate Rosella. It was really lovely and we were happy to share it.
The menu outside the restaurant clearly marks what is gluten free (most of it is) which is great given it's one of the more high end venues at Yulara.
