Fast pies with the advabilty of gluten free crust. A very good menu with many combos and sandwiches. Parking is nearby and 2 cash registers to keep the orders moving. GAINES street pies is a 5 star pizza place.
Fantastic food, wonderful flavors and very filling. Being naturally gluten free is a huge bonus for my wife with Celiac and having vegetarian options was great for another member of our party.
We order 2 gluten free pizzas, Alfredo with grilled chicken and bacon, our 2nd pizza was tomato basil, with sausage and black olives. Amazing pizza!! Most gluten free pizza you order is rubbery, wet, mushy, NOT the case here! Thin and crispy and no mush at all! Don't just order one, order multiple, you won't regret it. Super friendly staff and a very clean place to eat at!
Multiple locals recommended this place. Quick 3 minute drive from the pond near Black Dog which could be scenic to eat nearby at.
I got the Maui Wowie which was on gluten free bread with shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, deep fried coconut shrimp, and strawberry cheese burger sauce. Excellent umami meaty flavor to the burger itself, enough toppings were on the burger, and the hefty amount of thick cut, chunky salt/peppered fries justified the $20 price including tax. Had it ready in 12 minutes when I ordered at the bar.
The gluten free bread was no up charge and excellent quality for a burger bun which is something I tend to have a hard time finding.
Staff was nice and offered their honest opinions of menu items. Several really unique burger and sandwich flavor combinations. Seems like a fun reliable burger/sandwich joint!
I love this place, the customer service is amazing, the food, the bowls and the ice cream are the best ever! For people like me with restrictions on gluten or dairy is perfect option.
Stopped by here on a whim while driving through Tallahassee and looking for some healthy eats! Scrumptious vegetarian and gluten free meals! I imagine it’s a local favorite and will look forward to dining again when in town! Thank you for a warm welcome!!

Stopped in for a late dinner. The place was quiet, and the service was quick. I tried both the Goat curry and Lamb Masala, both of which were fire 🔥 !
I’m expecting good things from the rice pudding I got to-go
They even had well-marked Gluten-free options, which is a rarity everywhere
The staff is always very friendly, but I do feel like they skimp on the cheese a little bit. Appreciative that they take the allergy protocols very seriously, and they have gluten free and vegan options for my allergy kiddo.
We had sworn off returning to this location after many bad meals, but we recently heard they had a new manager and decided to give them another shot. I’m SO glad we did because we had the best meal! They have a dedicated gluten free menu, and our waitress, Brandie, did a great job at making sure our food was celiac safe for my husband! Our steak was cooked to perfection. We will absolutely be regulars again!
the food is so delicious and unique. i'm vegan and gluten-free and it's so nice to eat somewhere with lots of options that fit my dietary restrictions. the atmosphere is really cool and they have a show or other event most nights. highly recommend!!
I’m always impressed at lofty! The food is delicious, especially the avocado toast with all the fun stuff on it. Their gluten-free pancakes are excellent! Plus, it’s just fun. It’s kind fun. Thank you so much for giving so much to our community. We love you all! Thank you for bringing magic and happiness and all the things that can be so hard to find as an adult. Thank you for your music, thank you for your playfulness.
I am not someone who writes reviews very often but Canopy Road (specifically the Apalachee Parkway location) is incredible. I have been going there for years and have never once had a bad experience. The staff works extremely hard and always has the best attitude. Definitely worth the wait if there is one. It was rare that I was not there on a Saturday or Sunday morning during my time as an Undergraduate student. The staff remembered who I was every single time and was always extra cautious when handling my food (due to my gluten allergy).Chelsea at the front is one of the reasons this location is so special. She greets everyone she meets with the most genuine smile and is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen.

Elevated Fine Dining at The Huntsman – A Culinary Celebration Worth Remembering
We recently celebrated our daughter’s graduation from Florida State University (FSU) at The Huntsman Restaurant and Bar, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. If you’re searching for the best fine dining restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida for a celebration, anniversary, or just an elevated night out—this is it.
From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere radiated class and comfort. The elegant bar setup instantly caught my eye, signaling that this is a place where handcrafted Old Fashioneds and curated cocktails are serious business. My Whistle Pig Old Fashioned was smooth, perfectly balanced, and honestly one of the best I’ve had.
Andrew, our server, was exceptional—warm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. His recommendation of the Rabbit Makhani from the main course menu stole the show. With its savory Indian curry, cardamom basmati rice, and garlic naan, it was so incredible I paused mid-bite on my 16oz Prime Split Bone-In Ribeye—which speaks volumes!
Our table shared a variety of stunning starters: the A5 Wagyu Pierogies with hazelnut pesto and beet butter, the crispy eggplant with mascarpone mousse and pearl onion agrodolce, and a generously portioned charcuterie board that hit every note from salty to sweet.
Dining in one of their private rooms made our celebration feel intimate and personalized. Even the valet team added to the experience by walking each of us to our vehicle with umbrellas during a light rain—pure hospitality at its finest.
To top it off, we were gifted a bottle of WhistlePig 10-Year Single Barrel, exclusively bottled for The Huntsman. That thoughtful touch sealed the night as one of our most cherished family memories.
Menu Highlights for Food Lovers:
• Signature mains like Wood Fired Ribeye & Lobster, Guajillo Grilled South Texas Antelope, and Wild Game Lasagna
• Creative preparations including Boar Bacon Wedge Salad, Fire Roasted Oysters, and Charred Octopus
• A5 wagyu, elk filet, bison ribeye, and Faroe Islands salmon
• Signature cocktails like The Huntsman, Black Gold, and Cafe Con Lechon
• Top wine selection from Napa Valley, Paso Robles, Burgundy, and Mendoza
• Vegetarian and gluten-free friendly with options like the Cauliflower Jagerschnitzel and Braised Jamaican Trumpet Mushrooms
If you’re looking for a high-end dining experience with a wild twist, expertly crafted food, flawless service, and unforgettable ambiance—The Huntsman delivers. Treat your server like family, and they’ll treat you even better. We can’t wait to return. Hats off to Chef Skylar Stafford, Andrew and the whole team!
How did I forget to review this place?
As a Celiac and someone married to an Asian-American, the food I miss the most since my diagnosis is Asian foods of all kinds.
While on vacation in Florida, I found Azu Lucy Ho's, which has a separate gluten-free menu. They also provide gluten-free tamari.
As far as the gluten-free food, while I thought the house salad was a rip-off at $6, I liked the $18 Mongolian beef and the $21 Yu-Shang Triple. The scallops were HUGE too.
While the regular menu is much larger, I was just happy to get some Chinese-American food for once. I'd love it if they could make a gluten-free green onion pancake because I was jealous of the normal one my husband ordered.
The owner was also a totally chill guy and very personable.
Overall, if you're a Celiac, I definitely recommend this place.

Great spot for quick & healthy options! Gluten free friendly, the manager Todd was extremely helpful with this! Love the cold tea options and variety of toppings to choose from. Perfect place for a quick stop for a nourishing/fast meal!
One of the best places in Tallahassee. Food made with love! Delicious with outstanding combination of flavors. Huge plus for gluten free options. Great atmosphere with amazing service. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I went for dinner and he got a staek, chicken and ravioli which was amazing. I ordered the shrimp Italian salad it was good until I got sick there and had to come home and I am still feeling sick today. We told them I had a gluten allergy and the server even told them I did. They still crossed contaminated it with the beef. The manager was so very pleasant and apologized that they will definitely get the allergy contaminated kept cleaned and no if you gave a gluten allergy. Our server was also very sweet and kind and came and checked on us even when we were about to get up and leave from paying.
I have celiac and Amanda was very knowledage about what was okay and not okay and pointed out all my options. Also the best scrambled eggs I've ever had!
Highly recommend! John, the owner was such a pleasure to work with. My first interaction with him was filling a pizza order for 168 sorority girls. Not only were the prices affordable, the giris were asking for another order. We called John that same day to place another order for the next day. He helped put together a catered meal consisting of variety of pasta dishes that would accommodate all our dietary needs from gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian. Again, the girls were raving over the food. We will definitely be calling Red Elephant again. Amazing food and such reasonable prices.
Ordered the gluten free pizza with the meat. It was a really good pizza. Glad we ordered. Ordered the pizza online and it was ready to go when we got there. Nice friendly staff. Not an issue but when leaving go the backroads as it may be hard to get out on the main road. Once again not an issue but an FYI.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Backwoods Crossing, and I can’t say enough about their salad with gluten-free catfish bites. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and had a delightful crunch that paired beautifully with the fresh, crisp greens. The highlight, however, was the oyster mushrooms – their flavor and texture were simply out of this world.
A big shout-out to Jade and Ella for their outstanding service. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The atmosphere was top tier, creating a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend this dish and this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious, gluten-free option in a wonderful setting.

I'll start with the gluten free comments. Wife has celiac, she loves the Singapore rice noodles and pineapple fried rice options, though they have other options. She doesn't have the worst sensitivity, but it is strong enough to trigger if there is cross contamination from prep or cooking areas. She never has a problem here.
For me, sushi variety is always great, love their fried rice options.
Multiple others we have brought have tried various entrees and noodle dishes and only ever had compliments on the food.
Definitely recommend this restaurant, as it has become our quick takeaway fallback and we eat from here once every couple of weeks.
Lemon and Thyme is my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to. The service is fast and the workers build your bowl perfectly. I love that they have a gluten free dessert option! I always feel happy after eating this lunch. My best friend and I immediately bonded after sharing the experience of eating lemon and thyme together in my car. We devoured and drank all our sweet teas and the feeling I had in that moment was that most incredible thing. We both had leftovers that we put in the fridge and ate later that night. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks me what the best lunch spot in Tallahassee is. Laney if you see this, let’s go to lemon and thyme.
The staff here is always so kind and friendly and they take extra care to separate gluten free items. It's just a chain burger place but it's really tasty and the food is always fresh and they have never messed up my order.
My son and I go here because he is a celiac and needs GF. Normally they are pretty good, sometimes I've waited 15-20 minutes past the pickup time. Today, I placed an online order at 1640 for pickup at 1730. At 1845 it was still not ready with my son sitting there for over an hour waiting. They did have a large group come in but that was after our pickup time. Just people messing around and not caring. So typical these days. Scratch this one off my list.
I sat at the bar for coffee and desert. John the manager, immediately made me feel welcomed and provided with menu options.
Hayden, besides being a bartender, is a great barista. His vanilla infused latte is amazing (most of their espresso options are) the price for espresso drinks are fair and great quality. The ricotta cheesecake is gluten free and well balanced. I def be back!
I have only been here twice, but the food is so scrumptious. I feel it's one of those restaurants. The more you go, the more you learn and can try different combinations. They have some of the best soda on tap it's Maine Root, which is sweetend with cane sugar and non gmo. They also have some diet drinks. However, I don't remember the sweetener. Oh, and did I mention nearly every option is gluten-free!
We were so happy with our experience here! We were bummed out they don’t offer dine in but it ended up working out for us. Their pizza menu is extensive and I have to say that their gluten free crust was actually delicious! The service was friendly and fast. The environment is cozy but we only got to enjoy it from the lobby area. We would definitely return!
Very friendly staff and lots of room. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone including a "gluten"free section. I was greeted by a very courteous hostess and was offered a seat at a table or I could take any high top or bar seat available so I chose the bar. My server was prompt and explained the menu and even recommended a couple of items. The food was very good and the portion was quite sufficient. The server was friendly and the service was excellent. I would eat here again if i am in the area.
I switched back to vegetarianism this year and Persis is the healthiest, freshest option in town. They have a low oil content and I feel full without my body holding onto grease and gluten. The pounds are melting off, my skin on clear, and I feel alive. Thank you.
Siam Sushi is so delicious! I absolutely love the Pad Thai. They have several gluten-free options, Just ask your server! Everyone that I've brought here has always loved it! Rumor is the sushi is great! I am not of fan sushi. However, my Sushi loving friends will order many rolls. They have so many choices, too.
I booked a last-minute reservation at Savour in Tallahassee for my wife’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The service was outstanding—attentive and welcoming from start to finish. The food was exceptional, especially the steak, which was the best I’ve had in a long time. They were also incredibly accommodating of my daughter’s dietary needs, as she has celiac disease, making sure everything was safe for her to enjoy. It was a special night, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend Savour for a memorable dining experience!
Oh the flavors!! Grilled Maji, steamed broccoli, and smashed potatoes (w/ garlic and so much flavor!!) The service was incredible! My server was very knowledgeable about the menu ingredients and was able to steer me in a good direction because of my gluten-free needs. So good!!
This was a wonderful night out to celebrate graduation. The service was so pleasant and efficient. She was very knowledgeable about the menu options and even gluten free choices. The food was fresh and delicious with beautiful presentation. The chef came out and checked on us and was just precious! The homemade ice cream and custard was also amazing. The only note of caution I would add is to ask for the menu or prices before you order a special. I was a little surprised by the prices of the specials when the bill came. But no regrets, great experience and highly recommended!
