Wife has celiac and eaten many times. Make sure to tell them an allergy and they will change gloves and take special precautions even when they are busy!
Ambiance: Very cool garden setting. Live music at certain times. Overall an great atmosphere. Tends to be very busy. I'm giving it four stars, though, because they try to rush people through in 60 minutes to accommodate the next seating. They pushed us to order right away and then brought out our salad and entree at the same time.
Wait: We waited 10 minutes with a reservation. Without a reservation, you're rolling the dice. Can be hard to get reservations during the peak season.
Food: Good, but nothing special enough to justify the price. "Keoki's Style" fish was just ono with some pesto and a sweet glaze. The kale salad was quite good.
They have happy hour specials 4-5, but if you come in with a 4:45 reservation, they won't allow you to order them. You have to arrive earlier than that.
Drinks: The cocktails here are unique and good, but incredibly sugary. I would recommend them if that's your style. Prices range from $17-$25 per drink.
Service: The front of the house generally did a good job, except that they served us a dish that I was allergic to after I told them about my gluten allergy. When I looked at the dish and asked the server to confirm that it was gluten free, she immediately apologized and took it away.
Fast and friendly service with crazy tasty weenies! My wife has celiac and they were so accommodating to her and made sure all our food was gluten free!
4.5 star rounded up to a five to make sure you go to this place.
We were looking for someplace a little less expensive and crowded than the oceanside bars and resorts, and this did the trick.
The food was great, they had beer on top, the prices were reasonable for the island, and the service was fun and friendly (thanks Idol!! Sp??).
The ahi poke was fresh and tasty and plentiful with a nice sauce and we added avocado to top it off. It was extremely filling.
The gluten-free Carnitas tacos had flavors of the islands, generous portions, and a nice slaw and sauce.
Sweet potato fries were also generous, tasty, and had a nice spicy aïoli to go with them.
Overall a great experience, and will definitely be back.
One of the best restaurants here in Kauai, also more expensive but well worth it.
Servers are knowledgeable about Gluten allergies and will suggest things on the menu.
Short ribs were real tasty. Grilled with mustard seed on top of horseradish mashed potatoes with kale and green beans in a miso sauce. My favorite meal so far! We also ordered the Ramen which is solid but have had better Ramen in the Bay Area. And we also ordered the beef Pipikaula which reminded me of a seared beef that tasted slightly aged.
For dessert we order the chocolate soufflé which you can't go wrong, perfect cake exterior and a soft gooey melted center.
Service is good and friendly. All around thumbs up.
The atmosphere, sunset, and vibes of this restaurant are definitely positive. However, we found the service and food to be poor. We found a lot of people we talked to when referring us to this restaurant would say, “Oh my gosh the sunset is amazing,” but they never spoke highly of the food and service. We found this to be true, unfortunately. The food was mediocre, we’d been on the island for over a week and were looking forward to this meal, but it was definitely a let down. Also, we were celebrating a milestone birthday while on the island and had ordered a cake from a local bakery that was gluten-free and vegan as the birthday boy has strict allergies. When speaking to the restaurant, they let us know an hour in advance of our reservation that we could ‘under no circumstances’ bring the Birthday cake that was accommodating severe allergies for the birthday boy. We ended up only going once during our trip and again, found management, the service, and food to be average and nothing to rave about.
The owner has celiac disease and they have organic syrups and really yummy shaved ice. Definitely worth a visit. They also have food options and the owner knows how to prep even in a small food truck to prevent cross contact.
An opulent buffet with a large assortment of gluten free options. You can order from the menu but the buffet is a better deal. Besides the normal breakfast options they also have dim sum and a selection of Hawaiian fruit. They will also bring gluten free pancakes on request.
The restaurant itself is a beautiful setting with great views. Make sure to visit the macaws on your way in.
A nice restaurant right in front of the park that separates the residential area from the Brennecke and Poipu beaches. We had a Beach Burger with a gluten-free bun and the Seafood Risotto. Food is tasty, a bit expensive, but this is Kauai, so it’s expected. Live music was a nice touch.
We probably would have grabbed lunch here every day if we'd found it earlier. I have celiac disease and the sandwiches were amazing! No issues with cross-contamination. Gluten-free bread, creative combinations, and Boar's Head lunch meat—so good!
Service/Food/Atmosphere all 5*! Pricey as to be expected, but our family has gluten and dairy sensitivities and this was the Easiest/Smoothest ordering we've had in 10 days across the Islands. Thank you to our server Amy for being a superstar!
We arrived in a pretty sour mood. My husband broke two toes while we are here so he couldn’t drive. I’m not able to drive at night. We couldn’t find a ride to the restaurant. We ended up being 20 minutes late for our reservation. Our server turned that around. Ashlynn was so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She had a great energy about her. The food was amazing. I am gluten-free and she was very helpful in determining what I could eat. She totally nailed her wine recommendations. We were in such a great mood by the end of our dinner!
We were hesitant to dine here given the mediocre reviews, but wow the food was great!! Hubby gave the pad Thai 10/10. The Thai fried rice was delicious as were the coconut shrimp. They were accommodating for our gluten free needs (Celiac) and made the Thai fried rice gluten free and their Pad Thai was gluten free at baseline. I will say they were quite pricey—$65 for 1 app, 1 adult entree and 1 kids meals, but the food was yummy and reasonable portions. We would definitely come here again!
I have to eat gluten free, so this place was amazing for me; tacos are gluten free without modification. I've had tacos across the island through the years and these were perfect to me, tasty but not loaded with spice, taco shell soft and fresh and protein not undercooked or overcooked. I can't speak to anything else on the menu. Staff were very friendly, and the vibe here is very very chill, right on the golf course next door to Pilimai so it's quiet open air (covered lanai) with pretty views.
Excellent dinner in Kauai. Very accommodating, attentive and professional staff. Many seafood, land and gluten free options. Our family ordered five different options and everyone was extremely pleased.
We initially missed the sign for this place, but once we saw it, it was easy to find and get parking.
We had gluten free fish tacos and Hawaiian poke bowl, both were pretty good. The server was knowledgeable about gluten free options, and made sure to keep the fries which could be cross contaminated on the side, which my partner could eat. He also had a lilikoi cheesecake which he loved.
Lisa our server was outstanding. She was incredibly accommodating working with the kitchen to ensure our food was gluten and shellfish free. The food was so delicious and I look forward to returning again.
We ordered the Sashimi Moriawase (15 pieces of sashimi), miso black cod, volcano roll (modified gluten free), and matcha cheese cake. All items were super tasty and would highly recommend ordering them.
Really fresh and excellent Thai food. Some of the best chicken satay I’ve ever had. A lot of gluten free options too, and the staff were very knowledgeable about what was gluten free. The Green Curry is excellent, and so are the Summer Rolls.
