We were in Cookeville today so we stopped here for lunch. Being from the N.J., I was looking forward to giving it a shot. I ordered a Stromboli and my wife got a Cauliflower crust pizza...Gluten-Free. The Stromboli was Spot-On! Tasted just like I was back home. Perfectly baked and stuffed full of melted mozzarella and meats....Mama Mia! The sauce, or gravy depending on who you talk to, added a nice authentic flavor. My wife's pizza was just as good. Sauce was tasty with hot melted cheese... The star of the meal...the Cannoli Chips with powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and fresh filling on the side. My goodness! Great service and friendly owners. The only knock...New York Ranger fans...🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looking forward to trying the Calzone next....

This is our second time here and it is our new goto for a relaxed weekend pizza beer fix. The quality and consistency is there and the price is for it is good. Atmosphere and service we love. Did I mention the sauce? WOW! Gluten free options are great and the buffalo mozzarella is wonderful. We Love the mushrooms as well. You can not go wrong with anything they have to offer at Gene's Place. Go out and support this Veteran owned and operated joint, you will not leave disappointed.

I can’t say enough kind things about the (staff?) that were involved in preparing my pizza! Once they learned that I was allergic to gluten, they knew instantly what they needed to do! They started with fresh gloves, then by covering a pizza tray with parchment paper and a cauliflower pizza crust. Then they told me they pulled fresh toppings from different containers so that there would be no concern of cross-contact. I asked them if they would run my pizza through the oven twice to ensure that I got a crispy crust (always my pizza preference). They assured me they would. My pizza was small but cooked perfectly. My body knows when I’ve consumed gluten rather quickly. I’m pleased to report NO ill effects! As to the atmosphere, bring your kids! They’ll have a blast! 😂 Think miniature Chuck-E-Cheese! I get the impression they do a lot of birthday parties. 🎂🎈🥳 🤷‍♂️

I have many dietary restrictions. I can’t eat soy, gluten, or dairy. It makes it very hard to eat out with my husband. I have not gotten to enjoy an Italian restaurant in a very long time, but Mauricio’s is now a place we can go! They were amazing. They made me a safe pasta dish. I’m always unsure if they actually made it correctly, but I felt great afterword. They were so nice about it too! So many places make it such an inconvenience that I just avoid eating out. We will definitely be back many times. Also their food tastes amazing, it’s beautiful inside, and everyone is so nice. It’s honestly not very expensive for the quality of the place and food. Definitely recommend!
