I had picked our hotel in Liverpool for a long weekend break partly due to it's proximity to the Free State Kitchen and it's rave reviews. So relieved it did not disappoint.
Had the double French Onion burger which was the best burger I've had in my life (with some tough competition in the US and Spain), which is extra difficult these days as I developed Coeliac disease in the last few years. My wife had the Macaroni Cheese which was good, but also the Chocolate Brownie which was (also) the best she's ever had.
So fantastic and refreshing to see food that is so often underrated in the UK as cheap fast food staples be prepared with fantastic ingredients by people who really care about what they are doing. Service was great as well.
When we're next back in Liverpool, this is now a mandatory stopover for us!
Used to be amazing but has really gone down hill
Was disappointed when they removed most of the veg options from the menu inc salsa and guac but still occasionally visited even as quality declined. Not anymore.
My most recent order included gluten free gravy and it was absolutely disgusting, I’d have preferred no gravy. It was a weird jelly like texture. Not edible.
Not sure if the issue was the temperature as the food was luke warm at best.
The cheese also was not great and wasn’t melted.
Felt like I was eating day old food.
My partner ordered regular gravy and was also unhappy with the quality of their food.
Won’t be returning, it’s just not worth the price even at the best of times.
As someone who eats gluten free it’s really difficult to find a good burger. Everything is always cooked fresh to order and always spot on. Never go anywhere else for a burger now 10/10
We took part in a sushi class and it was brilliant!
We had drinks and snacks whilst waiting for the masterclass to start. We then learnt about some sushi styles before getting the chance to make our own.
They catered for gluten-free, bringing me GF soy sauce and offering alternative ingredients.
It was such a lovely thing to do with my daughter, I'd recommend it 👌 ☺️
Hands down the greatest, and I mean THE GREATEST ! Gluten free fish chips and peas I have ever had in my entire life ! They deserve the attention from us GF eaters
Great Subway who also do great Gluten Free sandwiches, however the queue was very long so don't go here if you have limited time and there were no tables available but that didn't bother me as I ate it on the train.
