Attended a catered function during a workshop in Gatton. The regular meals (bread rolls, mains and dessert) looked tasty though small portions. Unfortunately, all special dietary requests (gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free) were solved with one very uninspiring dish: gf pasta with a tasteless tomato sauce.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, huge beer garden, extensive food menu with many gluten free options. Great atmosphere and worthy of a short drive to the Brisbane "countryside". The meals are huge and are great for sharing. We had the wings and nacho tower with pulled chicken, it really deserves the name. Very tasty. We'll be back!

We had late breakfast at the cafe. They had a reasonable menu and good service. They were able to help us work through multiple dietary requirements including nut allergy and gluten intolerance.

Please be careful, even so it says on the menu Gluten Free, it technically is not. Gluten free Pasta is cooked in the same water as regular pasta, GF pizza is cooked in the same oven with regular pizza. Chips are GF however cooked in the same fat as everything else. A big disappointment 😥 we had been told it was CD safe....

Stopped here for dinner on my through and absolutely delicious food. There was heaps of gluten free options and the chicken schnitzel was to die for. Definitely worth stopping in and would highly recommend.

Went to the Australian for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised to see gluten-free burger options on the menu. Ordered the steak burger and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The staff are super friendly, the service was fast and the breeze outside was really nice. I'll definitely be back!!!

Took a road trip and saw them on the map and the great reviews and decided to visit. Owners are friendly and accommodating to your needs. It's pet friendly which is great. Love the country feeling and history. Love that they have gluten-free options too.

Paronella Park, Park in the Paddock and Mena Creek Hotel all within easy walking. Drinks very expensive - schooner of Great Northern and glass of Red $25.50. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, but the service was a bit hit and miss. Our table had to call them twice for food that was missing. Excellent GF menu. I'm coeliac and had no trouble. Didn't stay at hotel so unable to comment on the accommodation.

Great destination to stop for lunch! We made the trek from Toowoomba to the Granite Belt Brewery for a birthday lunch with the family. The booking process was easy enough via their website through open table. The address was slightly different in Google maps compared to the address in open table, but Google maps got us there in the end. The atmosphere is pretty cosy, decked out like a traditional German brauhaus. The menu was well presented modern Australian with good options for dietary requirements, so they were able to accommodate nut free and gluten free. The service was ok without being outstanding. It was a Sunday so the brewery wasn’t working, but the viewing area was well presented and looked interesting. Something for another day.

Staff were lovely. Food was great, popcorn squid entre was a good small meal on its own and tasted great. There were plenty of options and the meals looked quite big. Many gluten free options and the staff took it seriously when I asked, and there were vegan options as well.

Parked up overnight in RV. Level, mostly grassy sites. Had dinner and drinks. Staff and owner were friendly and really helpful, especially with gluten free meal options. Bar was cosy and busy. Meals area was partially open to the chilly night but kept comfortable by overhead heaters. A great overnight stop, thanks.

We attended a wedding here on Friday - it was beautiful and the staff were excellent! The food was divine - I had very strict meal requirements (low histamine, gluten and dairy free and vegan), and they did VERY WELL! I loved my food and I cannot thank them enough for going to all of this effort for me. Highly recommend!!!

I wish I was given some warning in regards to the gluten free pizza base. There is a lot better available out there, so if you want pizza here definitely stick to the normal base. That’s just from my experience. Otherwise it’s been good to eat here on other occasions.

We had a fantastic dining experience at the hotel! We enjoyed an excellent meal with friends, featuring mouthwatering Chicken Parmigiana, gluten-free prawn, and chorizo pasta bursting with flavour. The tender ribs came with sweet potato chips that were simply divine. The service was wonderfully friendly, adding to the charm of the evening. The only minor drawback was the enormous portions, which were enough to leave us pleasantly stuffed!

We came for breakfast on Saturday Morning (10/02/2024) Absolutely awesome breakfast buffet. Everything from cereal to waffles, pancakes and toast, fresh fruit and a full cooked breakfast. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and we were greeted and seen off by the owner Fernando. We got there at 7 as we are early birds. Food kept coming out fresh and everything was delicious. Well worth the drive from Yeppoon. I prefer low gluten and had loads to choose from. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We will be back.

We had a really wonderful lunch today. Tasty specials served piping hot with a smile! Jen the Chef has introduced some wonderful gluten free meals and desserts, worth the trip for coeliacs. The log fire was a welcoming touch and the bar lady and locals were very friendly. Will make it a point to eat there again!

Met friends there for a weekend lunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal in the beautiful surroundings. There are two menus with a plethora of choice which includes seafood & a series of various gastronomic delights. My husband said it was the best Chicken Parma he'd ever had. Chips are not the usual beer battered rubbish but fresh & gluten free!!! The new highly professional experienced management are actively improving, upgrading & expanding the venue, the outcome of which has brought new decor, atmosphere & excellent service. Waiters & chefs are very accommodating, with a willingness & ability to fulfill the needs of patrons with food intolerances. Offers several areas in which to dine, whether you like balcony with a breeze & a view, a more intimate setting or for large groups. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Extremely pleasant, comfortable bay side dining with fresh, well presented, top notch delicious food. What a great day out!

Had a really great lunch here. The bar is refurbished and looks great. Good outdoor area out the back which is dog friendly. Menu caters for lots of different dietary requirements. We had the vegetarian burgers with gluten free buns. Very tasty. They have a decent drinks selection including gluten free beers 😊

A wonderful family owned hotel with a range of good rooms at a fantastic price. We have stayed there a few times now and love the rooms with 3 different beds. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help you with anything during your stay. The restaurant and pub are lively with great menus at good prices. There are even plenty of healthy gluten free options available for those with certain dietary needs. We will be staying here every time we travel through Goondiwindi.

Dropped in here yesterday to find a well situated, lovely pleasant and friendly atmosphere suited to singles, couples or families. Quite a large dining area that is casual and laid back. Great kids play areas available as well. All the usuals here eg sports bar, outdoor seating, gaming room. The meals are hotel quality and reasonably priced and the serving is quite plentiful. They also cater to the best of their ability for folk with dietary issues. They also cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. There is a ramp available into the dining area and the venue is situated on the one level. The one thing I felt was quite below standard was the pina colada I ordered. It tasted like weak pineapple juice and I could not finish it. Bathroom was dated but clean. Overall we were ok and were happy with this venue as a quick lunch stop.

Recently hosted a function at the resort. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They catered to dietary requirements and allergies (gluten free and latex free). We were able to decorate the room for the party held in the indoor area. The atmosphere was good; the food was scrumptious and good value for money, service was efficient and friendly. Staff went out of their way to make the evening memorable. Thanks to Jacob and the team! We look forward to visiting again in the future.

What a great pub to visit. Had lunch today but been twice before. Always a fantastic meal and a good portion as well. Was able to order gluten free. Definitely recommend coming to check it out.

Celebrating a hens in this private room was very nice. The food was presented lovely & all tasted great. Gluten free options were supplied on separate plates for those who required it. A free drink on arrival & unlimited tea & coffee. The staff were very friendly & nothing was to much for them. Only downside was the flies coming in the door which is opened to cool the room down. We ventured upstairs to the rooftop bar which has a great little view of the story Bridge. Drinks were slow to come & some didn't taste the best but they only had 1 staff member up there taking the orders, making & serving the drinks. When paying those prices you want your drink to be nice, some left thier drinks with only taking a few sips & others drank them, not enjoying them.

My partner and I loved coming to Castaways. The gentleman wearing a cap was excellent at helping us find out about Gluten Free options. He also helped me when I accidentally spilled my dipping sauce in the middle of the store. The chef was very nice to my partner when he asked more questions about gluten free options. I would give more stars if I could!! I challenge anyone to find a better location for starters! This was complimented by outstanding service from everyone including check in staff at reception, all hospitality staff and even the maintenance guys were quick to help with directions for our bush walk, fishing tips etc. We ate pretty much every meal at the bistro and loved the selection. Plenty of variety, healthy options, vegetarians and gluten free options and all meals were outstanding! We had a garden room which was perfect for us. While only small, it was clean and had everything we needed. Being in a tropical island paradise, we didn't spend a great deal of time in the room anyway! We also loved the daily activities which included free yoga on the beach and plenty of organised activities for the kids like craft, ball games, scavenger hunts, nightly cinema and more. Thanks to the whole team for an amazing experience and can't wait to return!

The library alone is worth the visit, but there's plenty of other things to see and do. We were treated with a quiet politeness by everyone working or visiting. Cannot comment on the residence experience but some of the negative reviews seem couched in a waspish vituperation that suggests a lot of baggage has been brought in with visitors, rather than being the fault of the institute. 'No barrista-style coffee', forsooth! No, but peace and quiet and space for contemplation. Thank you to all who find the time to help keep this place going as a garden for the soul and a haven from the busy, busy world (where I'm sure Bruno will whip you up a gluten-free ethically-sourced organic soy lite decaf chai latte with a sugar-free caramel twist just as soon as, if not before, you snap your fingers in their general direction).
