Phenomenal food and service, can’t say enough nice things about this place! Loved that the chicken pizza had a smoked option!
My dad had a gluten free sub with fries that he said was delicious, we will be back for sure!
Great spot to get Neapolitan style pizza. They have the best gluten free pizza in Pittsburgh. Wife is Gf and she’s craves it. Honestly can’t tell much of a difference. Gelato is tasty and great selection of wine by glass, half and bottle.
We used Giovanni's for catering for a graduation party and the food was a hit at the party. Everyone wanted to know where we got the food because they loved it. The variety of food was excellent. In addition to a great variety of excellent food, there are several gluten free options which helped with dietary restrictions.

Interesting place that serves meatballs with any meal on the menu. Fantastic options for my friends who are vegetarian, and gluten free! Our server was very pleasant, however she may have been new. Was very slow with getting our drink refills. Also any other restaurant serves a side salad before the main meal. Not here, it came with the meal...
I've had their breakfast and gluten free pizza. Breakfast was omelet and spouse had waffles which we been enjoyed. I'm gluten free so I had the gluten free (celiacs) margherita pizza which was pretty good (wasn't bad, similar crust to other gluten free pizza, solid toppings). I'm not super sensitive with gluten free but didn't feel bad after eating there.
Filling and delicious. It feels like you’re sitting in someone’s living room, very cozy. Great gluten free options for Celiacs!! So grateful they’re open late.
Four people went here on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 just when they opened at 5 PM. We had a very skilled server and the food was excellent. One of the people in our group is gluten intolerant and he was delighted to see that he could get pasta and that the server was knowledgeable about whether any of the sauces contain gluten. We had the rigatoni and vodka sauce, the seafood hot pot, a small cheese pizza, and tagliatelle.
so grateful to have this place in the neighborhood! great gluten free options at very reasonable prices. staff is always nice. one of the only places it feels like you really get your moneys worth ordering takeout anymore.
I'm really bummed. I eat ACFP in McMurray all the time, to the point where I crave their pizza specifically! Being wheat-free, it's one of the best options for a gluten friendly crust. Figuring I was going to be near the Robinson location, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab my favorite pizza. But I wish I had, unfortunately. Their crust is COMPLETELY different from the McMurray location. It was thin, floppy, and plain...a MAJOR disappointment. Especially for the cost at over $50 for two pizzas. I purchased another pizza with my order (just a regular pizza), which also had a different crust from the McMurray location as well. Very odd.
The only thing I can think of is that the restaurant seemed to be having some sort of maintenance issue as they were closed for dine-in, and maybe that's where the difference came from. But I'm majorly disappointed and had I known it would affect the quality of order, I wouldn't have gone.
Edit: ACFP reached out to me within days of posting the above review and are offering to remake my order. The air conditioning unit was broken during my visit, causing the pizza doughs to rise and bake/cook differently than they're used to. I will update my post once I've received the new pizza and compare.
I had a delicious dinner with a wide variety of gluten-free options. I really enjoyed the cheese plate with gluten-free bread, as well as the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the burger on gluten-free toast.
Piccolo Forno is the BEST Italian food you can ever ask for and find in Lawrenceville!!! My husband and I had our first date here back in 2019, so we thought it would only be fitting to have our wedding reception here as well. We recently rented their private event space and couldn’t have been happier with the outcome! From the very beginning, the communication with Nealey (the restaurant’s manager) was very thorough and she was always willing to answer any and all questions I had. She was able to accommodate our guests different dietary restrictions in addition to my husband’s celiac disease. Our waiters were Bri and Addison for the night and they were incredibly polite and professional. We were so stunned by how beautifully all of the food and our decorations were displayed! All of our guests (and us!) were more than content and enjoyed ourselves throughout the entire night. Thank you Nealy and Piccolo Forno staff for being a part of our special day and being so welcoming with our son! It’s not often you can find amazing food, wonderful service, and a kid friendly atmosphere at restaurants anymore.. but Piccolo Forno is where you can find all three! :)

We snagged a last minute reservation on a Saturday night and were seated at a table in the bar area. Our server who was also the bartender was very warm and kind. I am vegan (my partner is not), and our server offered off-menu items to accommodate me, even sharing that his daughter was vegan and gluten free, so he understood. Pittsburgh is a city that doesn’t often understand a vegan (no cheese?!), so this was lovely and refreshing. My partner is a very selective chef, and loved their homemade pasta with meatballs. They commented that this was their favorite meal since moving here. Warm service, kind staff, and great food.
Real good stuffed pepper soup. Large portions and friendly staff. They have gluten-free pasta, although we did not try it. We did have the gluten-free chocolate cake, and it was really good.
My wife and I eat here once a month. BYOB and great food. Gluten free pasta is available. Deserts are all awesome. Very affordable for really good food.
I ordered pizza for a birthday party and the pizza was delicious! I also ordered a gluten free pizza and that was also delicious. Everything that I have ever ordered from there is always so good.
Senti is a little Pittsburgh gemstone! The cuisine is fine Italian food like you'd get on a cobblestone street outside of Milan. The atmosphere is peaceful, the service is excellent, and the prices are good. I love the white table cloths, the food made with fresh authentic ingredients, and am especially grateful for the gluten free pasta. I had the most peppery, savory, cheese mouth watering penne and ate every bite: Pasta Cacio e Pepe. You can tell when food is made with passion.
Cucina Vitale was absolutely incredible for our rehearsal dinner! The staff were so attentive to us and we had 25-30 people!! The food was absolutely incredible! They were able to accommodate allergies seamlessly (we had 2 gluten-free guests). They had several choices of decorations and lights to pick from today incorporate our wedding day colors and we were even able to play a PowerPoint presentation of pictures! It was an amazing night!! Highly recommend Cucina Vitale!!
Five + stars! This is a gem..extraordinary food, extraordinary service, and comfortable and beautiful atmosphere (we did not eat outside but the outside patio looks beautiful!)
The chef is so accommodating with regard to dietary restrictions ( I am gluten intolerant). I felt so comfortable dining here. Highly recommend!!!
Dependable neighborhood restaurant. The pizzas and subs are great. Love the gluten free buffalo chicken pizza. Almost always ready within 20-30 minutes as well. Definitely recommend.
We got a variety of biscotti which were delicious, crispy and lightly sweet and perfect dunked in a cup of coffee! We also tried the nut roll - I found that ok - it had too many raisins for my liking. We also tried these coconut gluten free almond cookies which were delish. We’ll be going back for more biscotti and to try their pizza and ricotta pie.
We are glad to live within walking distance from here and are pleased to see it busy nearly every time we pass. The coffee and atmosphere is nice. We’d love to see more gluten free options!
Laid back, casual place with comfortable chairs. I'm "gluten free", and they have some great choices here.
The service was amazing and so was my salad! My business associate enjoyed his soup and salad very much as well. 🥗 Easy on the wallet too, I will definitely be back.
I walked into Papa J's with 28 college students because we were doing a tour of Pittsburgh. The owner and staff had no idea we were coming but were amazing at accommodating all of us. Within 5 minutes we had been seated and delicious food started coming out. They even had vegetarian and gluten free options for the students that needed it. I can't recommend Papa J's enough if you are in Pittsburgh. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My husband and I mourned the loss of our favorite restaurant, The Carlton , when it closed during the pandemic .
What restaurant would match the attention to detail in food quality, aesthetically pleasing food, service, and decorum?
The answer is Vallozi's.
I was served by Katie, who understood what wine would match my veal piccatta and my husband's veal strip.
The food was cooked to perfection and was very b
aesthetically pleasing.
We followed up our meal with a gluten-free flour less chocolate cake and a glass of chambord liquor before going to The Pittsburgh Symphony.
We found our new favorite restaurant. 😍
I was here for a party. The bartender made me an awesome fall flavored cranberry mule that was delicious. The pizza, calamari, and mozzarella salad were all very good. My friend said the gluten free pizza was also good.
The food is ALWAYS fresh and flavorful, it's ready when they say it will be and I can't say enough about the staff...old fashioned gracious "service with a smile" which is SO rare these days. (Oh...the chocolate brownie is gluten-free...and delicious)!
I brought my small service animal in last week with my family. Most restaurants turn their nose up when they see an animal, shes a certified gluten detection dog for my small child. Every employee politely smiled at us, giving no mind to the dog. It's nice to have establishments be aware of rules and regulations around service animals.
Fantastic gluten free, cauliflower crust pizza. Had a really good salad too. The owner, Ali, is super cool and just overall good vibes at the place. Will definitely be going back.
Went for my daughter's birthday. Had a nice table setup for us (6) of us. Appetizers were ok. 2 of us are gluten-free so happy for the gluten-free pasta. The side salads were sad. Whole baby carrot, 1 slice of cucumber, 3 grape tomatoes and some spring mix. The balsamic Italian dressing was average. My daughter and I liked the gluten-free pasta. My daughter in law enjoyed her chicken piccatta, my son enjoyed his Stromboli. Neither one of them ate much though. My husband got a large seafood pizza. He only had 2 slices and offered some to everyone but Noone "bit." Later told me it was NOT GOOD! Waste of $30 bucks! Would give them a 5 out of 10. Would only go back for gluten-free pasta.
