My family and I came here for breakfast and loved it. It is almost 100% gluten free excited for the whey oats they use in their porridge. It is all plant based so I thought my young kids might not like it but everything we ordered we all devoured. Perfect breakfast place for celiacs.
Amazing spot! Fab for coeliacs / gf folk and anyone else to enjoy. Hubby said his burger was the best smash burger he's ever had, and the milkshakes were very naughty and yum š Service was so so friendly, the guys working here are absolutely wonderful.
My husband and I went here because we were in the area and saw that it had good reviews. I am gluten free (coeliac). The menu was clearly labelled and almost the whole menu was gluten free, including unique options like fried chicken and onion bahji.
They were very friendly and welcoming. They also seemed very mindful of dietary requirements, including cross-contamination.
We had the cassava fries, 31 masala chicken curry, goat curry and paneer saagwala. Everything was delicious and flavourful. I would especially recommend the goat curry.
Thank you for a lovely meal!!
Incredibly well-managed and very good service at a locally-owned restaurant that truly knows their stuff with keto, coeliac-safe, low FODMAP and other nutritional needs. In two years of living locally and eating here monthly or at least quarterly, weāve never had a problem with an order nor a bad experience.
I always go to duck island at least once a week and never thought to leave a review. Out of all my times here, today was the best one! Thanks to Cordell. Such a genuine person who actually recommended stuff Iāve never had before.
The gluten free cone yall?!! Actually phenomenal (Iām not allergic to gluten).
Thank you heaaaps Cordell.
I absolutely love this place, I feel like I'm In Japan again with the serenity and lovely customer service. The food is so tasty and fresh and so well priced!!! I absolutely love the onigiris and the sweet food they have in their cabinet (mostly all vegan and gluten free which is a bonus!!). If you have dietary restrictions this is definitely the place to try, especially if you like japanese cuisine. All the drinks are organic and better yet there are so many non caffeine drinks, sesame latte is my favorite!! A little bit nutty and smooth!! I absolutely love the cinnamon banana bread, the best vegan gf one I've ever had! Janken is a must try, especially if you want to come to a peaceful atmosphere filled with joy!!
Delicious and did not give any issues for my spouse who has celiac. Great portion sizes. Highly recommend. The area they're placed in is cute and space can be limited if you're a party bigger than 4.
Finally a Cafe that caters for allergies! Specifically for me, most of the menu could be catered as gluten free and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was varied, not just the normal Cafe staples which was so refreshing and the staff were lovely. A lovely lunch on my last day in New Zealand. One happy tourist and if I were a local I'd be a regular. š

Amazing service - especially with the care taken to accommodate allergies to gluten and dairy. Our waiter remembered the allergies on our table even when we came around to ordering dessert. The owners were lovely and warm - and took the time to chat with us at our table as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Delicious food - would absolutely recommend!
My boyfriend & I had a lovely dining experience here recently.
Our waitress Hannah was so attentive to our dietary restrictions (Coeliac) and it was clear she genuinely cared.
The same goes for the talented chefs in the kitchen, who were super patient and understanding and took the Coeliacs/gluten allergy very seriously.
Thank you all for making this such a lovely date night for us! Weāll definitely be back.
I was in town with family for a couple of days, we discovered Honey Cafe the first morning and ended up returning the next morning because it was so delicious! The mince & toast was the nicest I've ever had (so good I had it twice)𤤠I had gluten free toast and was impressed it wasn't the usual vogels but thick wedges. My sister had the classic (salmon) bagel GF both days as well, others in the party had French toast and creamy mushrooms...we were all delighted with our meals. Service was great and atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend!
Came in for a quick lunch. My partner ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas Gluten free and I had the pork tacos, beef brisket lollipops and the chips.
Atmosphere was nice and chill. Quiet for a Saturday lunch time but there was a lot going on outside.
Service was quick and easy. The server helped my partner who had a bee sting which was much appreciated.
Food came out fast and was temperature hot. The chips were the best thick cut pub chips Iāve had in a while. Good amount of salt and perfect amount of aioli. The fish was cooked well and wasnāt dry. The brisket lollipops had great seasoning and flavours were sweet and fragrant.
The corn tortillas on the tacos did fall apart more than Iād like but everything else for the taco was delicious. The salsa and mole were delicious with the pork.
Havenāt had a bad meal at The Kestrel to date. Thanks team
Food was amazing! I wish I'd remembered to take some photos. The only let down was service was a little slow- as in getting drinks initially and then the tables weren't cleared at all...but the food came out quickly and I'd go back again simply for the food options! 4 of us are coeliac and there were so many dishes that were either gluten free or could be modified for us š

My review is focusing on the set menu, but I was wanted to preface this by saying that this place is always nice, and always quite gluten-friendly.
We came here for the set menu on New Years as a group of four and it was absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately for us, though every item was delicious, the greatest hits were the items that aren't normally on the menu (I loooooved the beef tataki so much that we asked for more). No need to be scared or worried about there only being one option for the set menu, because every option was stunning. And I'm saying that as a relatively fussy eater.
The staff were generally amazing, but something that stood out to me is how accommodating the staff were when it came to our celiac friend. In spite of it being a set menu, they managed to ensure that she had gluten-fres options, especially when it came to dessert and we finally got served our food separately. Would highly recommend for anyone that can't eat gluten, as we frequently come herd with that friend for the normal menu, as there are plenty of options to choose from.
One thing to note about Mekong Baby is that it is more on the expensive side, but I wholeheartedly believe that it is worth it for the food and service.
Such amazing hospitality, they ran out of gluten free bread and had someone go out and get me some, thank you for a delicious meal team! Will be coming back :)
Excellent food and drinks. Nice vibe. Very friendly staff. Food is very healthy, all freshly made and so yummie. They are vegetarian but lots of their dishes are vegan or can be made vegan. As far as I saw there are also many glutenfree options. I hope I can visit again sometime.
First time here tonight and absolutely loved it. Authentic Greek food. We got five of the smaller sharing options - each is really only enough for two - the eggplant was so tasty and probably my favorite. The chicken skewers were very
tasty, the garlic pita was able to be gluten free. We had a side of delicious hummus. I wasn't a fan of the meat balls as they were very gamey but I'm also not a meat lover. The sauce on them was excellent. Had some cocktails and the gins were fab. Was quite expensive at $60 each for the four of us. But nice for a special night out.
Fantastic food and so much of the menu is Gluten Free! Service was smashing, super friendly staff and very efficient. If I was staying in Auckland longer, Iād come back again.
Awesome service, good food and very accommodating for food allergies. Nice selection of Gluten free options. Our server, Tye and Chef Robin went above and beyond on great customer service. A nice welcome to New Zealand for us!

One of my absolute favourite spots for coffee, dinner, lunch, drinks. Good for vegans and gluten free and the most wonderful staff. I adore going in for a chat and they always are so welcoming! The sangria is great to share and the soup and hummus platter have the most amazing flavours and good for sharing!
If you are a coelaic this is the place for you!
We are on a cruise and Auckland is one of the stops. We had tried so many different places with no luck.
When we got here we asked the friendly staff about gluten free options for Coeliac. She walked us through the menu and told us all the options that are not safe!
All gluten free options have a dedicated fryer and they were knowledgeable about coelaic and cross contamination.
When it came to ordering every item was noted that it was for a coelaic and when we received our food it was ā*insert food* for coelaicā
Would come back to Auckland again just for this feed!
I ordered gluten free burgers and I specifically signalled to the store via Uber Eats that the burger needs to be gluten free (clicked gf bun and gluten allergy) as my partner has cealiac - we ordered the bacon backfire for her.
When the order arrived we were suspicious as gf was not checkmarked on the box but the bun looked gluten free when compared to another gf burger. Tried to call the store for half an hour but they just did not answer the phone. After my partner tried the burger she immediately got sick due to the gluten in the burger which was not supposed to be there.
Seems like ticking the gluten allergy checkmark does not matter in the Albany store - in other Burger fuel stores this never happened before... Stay away from Albany if you have an allergy!
Had dinner last night at El Greco and we absolutely loved the experience. From the warm and friendly staff, to the comfortable outdoor seating, to the amazing food, everything was exceptional.
We had a quiet dog and this was fine. Flat surfaces, so ok for wheelchairs too. Our fried has celiacs and this also was not a problem.
I loved the Italian lagers (it was great to have another option, rather than just Peroni). The 7 āļø Metaxa was similar to a Cognac, full of flavours and a great way to finish the night over dessert. Nice wine selections too.
Really enjoyed all the food - souvlaki, squid, pasta. Lots of generous amounts of salad.
My only feedback would be to only use vegetables that are in season. Brussel sprouts are not in season now, which means theyāre probably cooked from frozen and we found them mushy.
Apart from that we loved everything about dining here and would highly recommend it to others.
Graci!
What a little gem! They have a number of Gluten Free dishes, which attracted me to try them in the first place. Food was absolutely delicious, staff super friendly and service was quick.
Plenty of parking at rear, off Moselle Ave.
This will definitely now be my "go to" local cafe.
I visited from East Auckland today, and it was worth the drive. Olivia's kitchen staff are so welcoming. They reassured me and helped me several times to pick the right options for gluten-free options. The person behind the counter was extremely helpful. The food itself is amazing. Our items were of great quality and I have not had good GF Asian food in so long. Thank you so much, we hope to visit again. :)
Great food and service. If you like Malaysian food (who doesn't?) This is a great option. My nephew has allergy with gluten and they took extra care with his food. Amazing
Gareth the waiter was absolutely wonderful, he really put us at ease in the environment and was amazing with my coeliac disease. The escargot was great! Thanks so much for a great night chefs and Gareth, you were great and deserve a hefty raise!
Amazing burger! My daughter and I are both coeliac so finding somewhere that makes superb burgers gluten free (and yummy as gluten free fries) is bloody awesome! Brilliant place- great staff, great atmosphere...will be back for sure!
Ok Iāve passed this place 1,000s of times but have never eaten here. Man Iāve been sleeping because itās sooo delicious.
I ordered the fried chicken poke bowl that was already gluten free, because I cannot pass up on gluten free fried chicken. UGH this was delicious. The sweet sauce they had on it, the half avo, the generous ginger, the chicken was crunchy. Couldāve had more rice, but overall, so delicious.
We sat outside in the sun which was lovely, and sheltered from the wind. My daughter enjoyed the little playground down below. We also ordered fries on the side that were crunchy and delicious.
Cabinet food also looked good - mainly sweet stuff and a lovely Carmel gluten free slice. But I was too full to order it.
Would come again 10/10.
