Amazing spot! The GF IPA was so good we went to buy some at the liquor store after dinner! My husband and I had the burger and pizza and would never guess they were both GF!
Very knowledgeable staff for allergies. I got the fish tacos and when I asked the waitress about switching the sauce from a dairy one she had an amazing recommendation! The tacos came as a rice bowl for GF and had an allergy notice indicated on my meal. Amazing place!
Great food, service, and prices! They were kind enough to get us a table even though it would go past closing time and were also one of the only places our girls could eat because they had gluten-free pancakes! Highly recommend!
Got there early and it was nice and quiet. Had great service. I got the blueberry gluten free waffle with a cold brew iced coffee and my fiancé got a smoothie. Both items were 10/10. We also got two ginger shots and those were great too.
Loved the atmosphere and hospitality of the owners. Everything we ate was tasty and flavourful. Mango lassi made me happy. I am very grateful to find safe gluten-free options. The patio is lovely and away from the big street. We could sit and chat peacefully.
Website showed same menu as other location, but when we got there it was a limited menu. Wine $16 a glass, really? Gluten-free bun on fish sandwich was too big, no tarter sauce on fish sandwich, overcooked fries.
$100 dinner disappointing.
This restaurant had a great menu with gluten free options. The hostess, Katherine, checked on us frequently. She shared a few recipes for my entree and dessert.
Our server, Julia, was incredibly attentive, considerate and accommodating. We asked about some gluten free choices and she checked with the kitchen before placing the order. All four of us enjoyed our meals. It was a lovely night in the outside terrace seating area, which is surrounded by landscapes and is not directly on the street. It's quiet and relaxing on the terrace.
I had the Halibut which was served over lobster risotto and green beans topped by a bit of Beurre blanc, a buttery sauce. Halibut being my favorite fish. It was perfectly cooked, not overdone. Halibut is a fish that is overcooked in many places in my opinion. Perfectly white and flaky. Well plated. I didn't find any lobster in the risotto, if you want real lobster risotto, Josie's in Ellsworth is the place to go. There you get 2 or 3 ounces of real lobster meat blended with the risotto. It can be a meal in itself at Josie's
Me and my family went while we were on vacation last week and we enjoyed this restaurant. They have gluten free bread but my only request is that they would have gluten free hamburger buns .All else was awesome! I want come back each trip I make to Maine!
This place is worth the hype! It is truly family owned and operated which I respect. Phil and his family work to serve and catch the food. The food is delicious. I would recommend the hot lobster roll if you prefer steak and lobster. If you want a more authentic, experience get the classic roll. The rolls are packed with meat despite being 4oz. I would definitely come here again if in the area. Gluten free options available as well. Be prepared to wait in line!
Excellent service and a wide range of food options. As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, it's a relief to find restaurants that are knowledgeable about safe ingredients for people with allergies.
Great experience, especially if you are gluten free! The menu was marked and there were a variety of options! The lobster taco special on corn tortillas was amazing - and our server Jesse was fabulous!
This restaurant was highly recommended to us by someone from the area when we were visiting for the evening. We arrived and walked in with my service dog and we were told we needed to sit outside. It is 50° overcast and misty in the air.
We asked if we could sit inside and the host said shook his head and said that he would prefer we were outside. We asked if it was because of the dog. He smugly smiled and nodded. We proceeded to tell him we would not be dining there, and my husband told him that was against the law. I cannot believe we were turned away with our service dog. He is a 25lbs very well behaved service dog. Go to Geddys nice and respectful. And great gluten free options!
See photo of my well behaved boy!
My boyfriend and I had a great time at 2 Cats this morning! He got the corn beef hash and I got the gluten free blueberry pancakes. Both of us left full and satisfied. I can’t wait to come back later in our trip and try something new - especially since the spicy home fries are gluten free as well.
We wanted a late night slice and the restaurant was crazy busy even though they were going to close in about 20 minutes.
We went in and my husband ordered a slice and asked if they sold gluten free by the slice. They said sorry no but that they could make a GF pizza for me and it would be done in about 10 minutes. So that's what we did.
The pizza is delicious, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere there is fun. Rosalie's is fantastic!
Fake advertisement! They have a banner on the outside of the building saying "gluten free lobster rolls" my husband and I clammered to get there after a 5-mike trail run in the rain, we were starving to find their munu states that the gluten free option is a lettuce wrap!! And then they were out of lobster and they had just opened ...
Added after reply: Hooray! I'm VERY happy with the pizza now that I know the fried chicken is GF :)
I ordered a BYO Gluten free pizza with chicken, bacon, and ranch(difficult to order online if you have dietary needs, not much info on what your ordering and no allergy/note section). After I picked it up, I noticed they had put fried chicken on a gluten free crust, and I tried to call to ask, and it was very difficult to find their phone number and they didn't pick up the phone anyways. Luckily, the second pizza we ordered was okay and it was still delicious
Siam Orchid is a great restaurant! The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the food is incredible, and the service is timely! They have traditional staples while also being able to accommodate and modify for food allergies like vegan and gluten free making it the perfect place for everyone in your party. Yum!
Super awesome place. Great staff and vibes. They have a good amount of veggie options and even some gluten free ones. Great drinks! I love the old fashioned. The loaded fries are also very good and the veggie curry.
The view in this place is unbelievable.
Breakfast was really good. We had the lobster frittata and the French toast.
Service was incredible. Waiters were amazing with my 1y old baby and they even gifted him a lobster stuffed animal and kept him distracted for a bit
They also had gluten free options for breakfast
THIS PLACE IS A GEM! We stopped in for a quick coffee and breakfast while touring around bar harbor and had one of the best quick breakfast of our whole trip! Great iced and hot coffee options from a super friendly barista. And the breakfast sandwiches were quick and so tasty. They have gluten free English muffins for their sandwiches that were delicious and great GF option! *the crepes are not gluten free unfortunately*
Saw Oppenheimer while on vacation. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff! Really good gluten-free pizza with interesting topping choices you won't find many places. We were the first ones at the show, but the couches had cumbs and food stains, though that's to be somewhat expected with cloth at a dine in place. Overall, it was an awesome experience!
My wife and I love this little shop. While I find the caramel macchiato to be a little heavy with the milk (could have gone with another shot I guess) my wife thoroughly enjoyed hers.
She is very partial to the lemon cranberry walnut muffins and I absolutely love the pumpkin whoopie pies.
In one week we stopped in about 4 times to get more pastries and deserts. They were also very accommodating with my grandmother and offered gluten free options. She loved their gluten free macaroons.
Nice selection of different roasts for drip coffee. My husband said the popovers were delectable and they even had a gluten free blueberry crisp for me. The only negative was a lack of seating in the shop. We sat outside on a bench and walked around the wonderful bookstore next store while we sipped our drinks.
Totally fine and well priced. The vegan options are lumped in with the gluten free which is a minus for me. The two vegan options are a beyond burger and a bran burger, and they don't have a non-gluten-free but vegan bun. That being said, if you ask them, they can put it on their ciabatta bun which is vegan and really tasty (just make sure you specify no butter when they grill it)
I was honestly more in it for the fries which were really good. Crispy exterior but soft inside. They also have a nice selection of local beers on draft and can.
Stopped in for dinner in the off season and they even let our dog sit with us in the heated patio area! Got the GF tacos with a GF IPA and both were delicious
Well this was a treat! I am gluten and dairy free. My husband is not. We both wanted to the mussels appetizer but I cannot have the cream sauce. Waitress offered to split the appetizer and make mine dairy free. So nice and it was a win! I ordered the Aranchera flank steak for my main course with asparagus and potato salad. It was absolutely the best steak I have ever had. I needed no dietary alterations and I just loved it. It has an amazing crust with cilantro and red wine flavor. Thank you! We had our kids with us and both loved the pizza and chicken fingers. My son rated the chicken fingers a 10/10 - they were homemade, not frozen.
Friendly and pays attention to orders and detail. They have gluten free options and downeast cider. Great food within a great town of Bar Harbor. Highley recommended checking out the town and hop around.
Absolutely beautiful spot! We have been coming to MDI for years during the summer and Sweet Pea’s is a staple especially when you eat lobster each night up here! Lots of pizza options! As an individual allergic to both gluten and dairy plenty of options with the specials! The meatballs are gluten free and delicious! I don’t remember last time I had meatballs that were gluten free! Seafood is fresh and delicious!
This pizza is fantastic.
I had a 9” Buffalo Chicken pie and it was super tasty, while my wife enjoyed her Gluten Free crust sausage & mushroom.
Took it to go, although I would like to check out the bar and patio sometime. Will be back
The host was rude and told us he could not see six of us together. Then as soon as we were set, he sat somebody else at a table that could accommodate six. Our waitress was really nice and was able to reseat us at a larger table, so we could all sit together and she was exceptional.
When the food was brought out, he somehow helped with that process and was overwhelmed with a simple question on which was gluten free.
The meats were really good and tender. We had the sampler with ribs, pulled pork and sausage. Note that the meats are not smoked according to our expert smoker in our party.
The beans and cornbread were good. The coleslaw and potato salad were bland.
I almost forgot two people in our party got drinks and they said they were really good.
This was by far the best meal I had during our 10-day New England road trip. I got the lobster roll but on gluten free bread. It was perfectly prepared and insanely delicious. My daughter said the bacon cheese fries were spectacular. I foresee another trip to Bar Harbor just to visit Melt.
The best lobster I've ever had. This was a 3 1/2 pound soft shell beauty! Yes, soft shell; super easy to open. So good the first time we came back the next day.
And if you have Celiac, they also serve incredible GF clam chowder and corn chowder with chunks of lobster. Have it all!
Oh... and the ladies taking care of you are sweethearts!
Definitely recommended for gluten-free food lovers! Pizza and salad both were delicious. Service was super fast and staff was super friendly and helpful with gluten-free options.
The build your own breakfast sandwiches are delicious! They have a gluten free and sourdough option as well as several other bread choices. We came here twice during our week in Acadia. The maple oat latte and sugar free vanilla latte were both great. The black coffee and espresso were also so good. Cute little spot. Line moves fast!
I had the ham, cheddar and apple panini on gluten-free bread and it was AMAZING. Most satisfying sandwich I’ve had in a while. Their GF bread is the best I’ve had at a sandwich shop.
I love so much about this place! As a gluten free vegan living here, I rarely ever go out. There just aren’t options. So to have a place capable (and willing) to making all entrees v/gf makes me feel more welcome than any other establishment on the island.
The food itself is beautiful and tasty. High quality ingredients, and everything is handmade (even the noodles.) For those who think the price is high - yeah, it’s an island. Nothing is cheap here, especially not ingredients which aren’t mainstream in this area. And knowing that profits are going back into the community, helping the island’s food insecurity issues, makes me more than willing to pay.
For those who think the food is bland. It probably is if your taste buds are jacked up from eating a diet of predominantly processed food. I eat a whole food diet, and found flavors of my ramen bowl to be amazing (saltier than I’m used to, but I don’t normally eat salt.)
I’m blown away by the fact that the brains behind this is two recent grads in their 20’s. Bravo!!! You’re bringing much desired quality to town.
It’s fun to eat at community tables, chat with strangers, and experience something different from the typical tourist food scene. Come with an open mind 🥰
Wow! This is an incredible restaurant and all around was such a nice dinner experience. I wrote on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and they had a birthday card sitting on the table for us. We also started with an aperitif that was a small, delicious bite! They brought bread for the table both gluten free and regular. They have dips for the bread that were amazing as well. We got the mushroom egg rolls as a starter which was fantastic. They were super hot but delicious and the sauce complemented really nicely. We tried the vegetable dish, lamb, paella, and lobster moqueca. Every dish was so amazing and flavorful. The paella was my favorite and is one of the best I’ve had (probably the best). They even brought over a small dessert at the end of the night which was a nice touch. The server was very friendly, helpful and nice. All around a really wonderful time at Havana and we’ll definitely go back any time we are in the area! I love that they change their menu with the different months so I would love to come back and try new items.
Came here for gluten free options (due to reviews) but everything is cross contaminated. After asking questions we discovered only the oatmeal was safe- which really was delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their food. Didn’t rate the service super high because the server was clearly annoyed with our menu questions.
We were hungry and looked at different restaurants. The Terrace Grill had the most beautiful patio, it was early evening and the sun was shining. The young lady at the reception gave us a menu and the time to read it, then we were given a table directly with a sea view. The service came from Kim, our waitress, and was perfect. Very friendly, helpful (need gluten free) and confident. The food was very good, delicious fish for my husband and a really, really good burger with a gluten-free brioche bun for me. A bottle of rosé rounded off the evening. As we were leaving, another waiter, a young man, also thanked us. The food was very good, but the staff made the evening special. Thanks a lot and we’ll be back👍🏼🤗
My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat during happy hour. He really enjoyed his blueberry old fashioned and although we usually eat gluten free, we had the Caprese flatbread that was half price for happy hour as well as a bowl of lobster bisque. The flatbread was quite good as well as the bisque. Would have just hoped to get a larger bowl of bisque for the price. Despite comments by other reviewers, we found the staff to be attentive and friendly and the food came out very quickly. Our waiter, Adam, was excellent and the location was fun for people watching in downtown Bar Harbor.
