There are many options in Chinatown, but not all offer gluten-free choices. Wok Wok has several options and, being located in a basement, is not as crowded as other places. However, it still offers very nice service, friendly staff, and reasonable prices.
Absolutely avoid this place if you’re gluten free. There’s a few Holy Cow venues around Manhattan, but I can only talk for the LES/Chinatown location.
We went in at a really quiet time, and I ordered the GF hotdog, GF Tenders and a GF burger (with so much on the menu thought it would be good to sample a few bits).
The quality of the food overall was average IMO, but the big problem was with the burger. I questioned 3 times if it was a GF bun as it seemed too good to be true - it was soft and looked ‘normal’
Always. Go. With. Your. Gut.
I have never in all the years of eating GF and being accidentally glutened have I been in so much pain after a meal. It completely ruined my flight back to the UK, and I’m still suffering badly a few days later.
I’d steer well clear if you’re sensitive.
I just had the best experience here. I usually come during the week days and the staff are usually slow with the orders but today I decided to come for a quick lunch, everything were fast. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Also one of the staff, he gave some recommendations for gluten free option and I ended up getting the kale quinoa salad which was really good but it will be nice if they have protein on there. Otherwise there is really not much to complain about. Bring the weekends staff to the weekdays 👏👏.
Will be coming back again
