Best gluten free pizzas and tasty salads. Always get a salad appetizer because there’s often something new and interesting. Even just their house salad is miles better than most restaurants specialty salads. I eat here every single time I’m in town.
Best pizza in all of Hendersonville. Period.
I absolutely love the pizza here, and the gluten free options make it way more accessible to people. The pizza tastes delicious, especially the square pizza. All around, it's delicious, a must try for pizza in the area.
Friendly staff and good food options. Gluten free options are available. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich special. It can get very busy at peak time for lunch.
The absolute best hamburger ever!! The gluten free wrap didn’t fall apart and was so wonderful. The selections of dessert’s was amazing and had some gluten free options. Cute outdoor seating by a creek, and a Lego collection to look at rounded out a perfect stop.
I had the monkey bread. Expected it to be dry and hard. It was not. I REALLY enjoyed it. My wife had a gluten free ginger cookie. It was GREAT! She has an espresso and a drip. I had an Americano. All very good.
Basically everything on the menu can be made gluten free and is terrific from sushi to hibachi to Chinese and other Asian specialties. They understand celiac and are very careful with their preparations
A lucky horse shoe find!
Cognative Café!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful staff who truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and it’s clear that this place is run with heart and intention as a community favorite.
The coffee options are incredible, espresso, cortado, lattes, or prefer a simple drip, they’ve got something for everyone. They proudly brew Cooperative Coffee, which makes it even better knowing your cup supports ethical sourcing. If coffee isn’t your thing, no worries—the fridge is fully stocked with a wide variety of non-coffee beverages, and their tea selection is just as impressive.
Their food menu is impressive, hearty sandwiches to fresh baked goods, there’s a wide selection to choose from, and they even offer plenty of gluten-free options, which is a huge plus.
You can tell the staff is creative, and they’ve put a lot of thought into their offerings.
The space itself is clean, bright, and completely handicap accessible, which I truly appreciate. The restrooms are spotless, and there’s fast, reliable WiFi, making it the perfect spot to work or relax.
Overall, Cognative Café is so much more than a coffee shop, it’s a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant space with top-notch service and quality in every detail.
I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee, a bite to eat, or a cozy place to hang out. Whether you’re meeting a friend, working remotely, or just stopping by for a quick pick-me-up, this place is a five-star experience all the way!
Went to eat because we love the one in asheville, and the food was equivalent to asheville. However the sever who took our order was incredibly rude. When asking about weather an item was gluten free i was told “i would assume so” and then once I asked if she would ask the cooks she gave a look of inconvenience before going into the kitchen to ask. She re-emerged laughing and said the item was in-fact not gluten free. She proceeded to she she had no real knowledge of what gluten even was which made me feel very unsafe seeing as I have celiac disease so even traces of gluten can make me sick. Overall the food was good but the experience was very poor.
We were in town for the Holiday weekend, New Years. Looking for New Year brunch options. This location came up on a search. Even though they were very busy the food and service were amazing. The gluten free pancakes were outstanding!
Ate here for lunch while vacationing here. The lunch buffet is amazing. They had 5 different curry/madras/saag options plus tandoori chicken on the day I visited. Gluten free dishes were labelled. All of the food was delicious! A special thank you to Mustafa who provided great service! Wish we lived closer so this place could be a regular for us. Thank you for such a delicious meal!
Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere to the decor to the mismatched tea cups was absolute perfection. Even the gluten free options were delicious. We are definitely going to try to squeeze in another lunch here while we’re in Asheville! I wish there was something like this in Raleigh!
Just ate at Shine for the second time. The first was a couple of weeks ago for dinner. My daughter and I split the Crab Cake Dinner and the Goat Cheese Salad. It was a fabulous meal! We both loved our dinner!
Today, my husband and I were there at 4:00. They have a different menu for the time in-between lunch and dinner. I had the Bahn Mi sandwich (with a side of gluten-free bread), my husband had the Burger, and we split the Turkey Cobb. The food was exceptional. My sandwich definitely had a kick, and I loved it. The GF bread tasted like Texas toast! My husband scarfed down his burger, so obviously, he enjoyed it! We will make Shine a regular stop when we move to Hendersonville!
One of the best Valentines Day meals we have EVER had! The food was Devine! The staff was very knowledgeable and we had wonderful service despite how busy the restaurant was. They catered to my allergies and had great gluten free recommendations and options! We will for sure be back again soon!
This is a cute place to stop after hiking or biking in DuPont State Forest. They have ice cream, food/snacks, and beer. I had gluten free butter pecan.
Yummy little Italian restaurant with a full bar and extensive beer and wine list. I had the trout with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. It was prepared nicely, but the broccoli had zero seasoning so I held back a star. Being a gluten-free person always on the hunt for pizza that doesn't hurt, I didn't have that option here. No biggie. Very comfortable place to have dinner with a friend. The broken brick work on the wall was in the shape of Italy. Clever! All of the ladies that were serving or hosting were really helpful and prompt. I'll happily go back when in Hendersonville.
Amazing food and even more amazing customer service! The owners went out of their way to make sure my son (who has Celiac) had food that was safe for him to eat. Will definitely be going back!
Their gluten free crust is one of the better ones in the area, so I can suggest them off that alone! The website was easy to navigate, and they had sale bundles right on the front page, which was perfect for ordering dinner for the family.
Drive thru was efficient, friendly and quick. Sausage and egg biscuit was very good. I'm trying to be gluten free, so I got the egg and sausage, husband got your delicious 😋 biscuit! And the cold, unsweet tea was delightful, as well.

Mountain Juicery catered a breakfast for teachers at our school. IT WAS FANTASTIC! The smoothie bowls were a huge hit and there was an option for everyone! They were able to make them dairy free, nut free, and gluten free. They were on time, kind and helpful! We are so appreciative!
We had a lovely meal. It was great service and a beautiful new menu that is really helpfully labeled for food sensitivities (gluten free, vegetarian, lactose free, pescatarian, etc…). And the prices were super reasonable for the quality and experience. We look forward to coming back!
Our dinner tonight was just Perfectively Cooked, Prepared, and eaten! Hubby had Old Blue Eyes, and his steak was medium, Just. Like. He. Wanted. It. 😁
My entree, Michael Jordan, was fabulous, too. When I asked our waitron, Nicola, what she recommended for gluten-free options, this was the one I chose, and it was ssssoooo good!
The piano player was wonderful with her Xmas selections.... it was a perfect night! You. Must. GO!!!!
Really cute place, with a pleasant laid back atmosphere. Decided to take a chance on the chai and it was excellent, not the sweet nonsense that Starbucks serves. My husband got a latte. Being hardcore espresso drinkers we thought the taste was a little light and asked for more coffee but otherwise it was good. (Plant-based milk too) We also got something out of the pastry cabinet. I have celiac and they even had gluten-free items. There was a couple there singing '70s songs. That was really nice. We would definitely come back.
We stopped in for brunch and our food was cooked the way we wanted it, and our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I am gluten free and they were able to accomodate me. We will be back!
Not only does one get to support an amazing cause through your purchase, but you get incredible tasty food as well! (So wonderful to have several gluten free options too: the wraps are fabulous!)
