Mellow Mushroom Raleigh

This Mellow has a 70s disco theme. It was dark but so many bright colors. The food was delicous as always, and their gluten-free crust is always a hit for my daughter. Service was good, slow at times, but that is because it was between busy hours and servers get distracted as new employees come in. Young being young.

Not a celiac safe facility - even though the crust is gluten free, everything is prepared in the same kitchen and goes into the same pizza oven, so there is too much cross contamination for celiacs to be safe here.

It’s been a while since we’ve ordered from this Mellow and after our carryout experience, it will be a while before we do again. We ordered a gluten free house special and a regular house special. They either severely overcooked the GF pizza or they’ve changed their recipe because it looked, felt, and tasted like cardboard. For our regular house, the cheese was clumped and uneven throughout and the crust was more chewy than I remember. Not sure if it was just an “off” night for the location. We were disappointed to say the least.
