A great place to go if you and your friends enjoy sci-fi/fantasy/horror themes. A lot of care and effort has gone into making it a fun place to have drinks and food. The staff and service have always been friendly and accommodating. One of our group is celiac and one is vegan and we have never had an issue.

If I could give 10 stars I would, I have celiac disease (severe gluten allergy) and they were incredible! So knowledgeable about cross contamination etc. and they have entirely separate cutting boards, knives, etc. for gluten free sandwiches. Plus their gluten free bread is so tasty. I will definitely be returning! :)

Disappointed and Frustrated – Wouldn’t Recommend I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience from June 9th. I called ahead to specifically ask if they offered gluten-free ramen, and was told they had a couple of options available. Based on that, we decided to dine in. However, after placing our order, the server came back to inform us they were actually out of gluten-free noodles. This level of miscommunication and negligence is extremely disappointing, especially for someone with dietary restrictions. I was then told to choose something else from the menu, and ended up ordering the Donburi, which they offered at a 20% discount. Unfortunately, the Donburi was not enjoyable at all—I took just two bites and couldn’t bring myself to eat the rest. To make matters worse, the server was not friendly or accommodating, which only added to the overall poor experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Between the lack of care for dietary needs, underwhelming food, and unwelcoming service, it’s just not worth your time or money.

Cafe Landwer, conveniently located on the southeast side of Bloor and Yonge near the Bloor TTC stop, is an inviting spot perfect for a cozy meal or coffee break. The space is bright and airy, with large windows offering plenty of natural light and a patio for outdoor dining on pleasant days. The atmosphere strikes a balance between bustling energy and comfort, making it an enjoyable place to relax or catch up with friends. The menu is a delightful blend of Mediterranean flavors, catering to various preferences with vegan and gluten-free options. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, there’s something to satisfy every craving. I tried their signature shakshuka, accompanied by freshly baked pita bread and a crisp, vibrant salad. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care put into their dishes. To complement the meal, I indulged in their Sahlep drink, a warm and fragrant winter treat made from orchid tuber flour—an absolute must-try. Despite the steady stream of diners, the service was quick and attentive. The efficient booking system at the entrance ensured a short wait, even during peak hours. With its reasonable prices and high-quality offerings, Landwer Cafe is a place I look forward to visiting again soon.
