It’s great that options for gluten free are being made but as someone who is Celiac and has had their fair share of Gluten Free items, you can find better tasting desserts in middle of no where places like Scranton, PA. I want to be as constructive as possible in this review because it really is great that there are dedicated GF bakeries for those that are intolerant or Celiac, but that’s the only reason why it’s two stars and not one.
PRICING
I ordered a red velvet and vanilla cupcake and before I could even enjoy my cupcake I was very alarmed when I saw each cupcake rang up as 4 dollars. Again, these are normal sized cupcakes and if anything they are a bit on the smaller size. I understand that this is a niche small business trying to stay afloat but you have to consider that eating gluten free does not mean I have money to waste. Because I have Celiacs, I have no other option but to eat GF but today I decided it would be nice to splurge a little on a cupcake. However, if you are the average person in Miami, you will not be able to justify the cost of a singular cupcake. I’m also going to add on to here that the machine asked automatically for 18%,20%, or 25% tip… for takeout.
TASTE
Vanilla tasted strongly artificial and not pleasant. Red velvet was bitter and mild in every other flavor and was not well balanced with the cream cheese. Texture was gritty on both, more so on the vanilla. Aftertaste is not pleasant and is a somewhat tarty/sour, acidic, and bitter taste.
CONCLUSION
Saying you’re gluten free is not an excuse to make a bad menu item. The recipes are not refined and feel like a first attempt at making a gluten free dessert. Especially at the price range, I do not recommend the average person come here as the food will be subpar for what you pay for. Overall, I am disappointed after having read so many excellent reviews. I will continue to search for better GF options in Miami but I will not come here again. Thanks for spending the time to read this.
Met Stephanie her self she is absolutely an amazing person. When I tell you how excited I was to be able to have crepes after not able to have one in Epcot I screamed and boy was I excited to savor a savory crepe. My family and I are all celiac and so we got the salmon avocado crepe (amazing 10/10) and the strawberry banana Nutella once again amazing 10/10) highly recommend if in Miami area so amazing and have a whole gluten free menu 💖
Doc B’s has drastically gone downhill. This place used to be my favorite restaurant. They have gotten my food wrong the last 3 times I’ve been there. They also stopped being careful about food allergies, when this was one of the reasons I loved them. Here’s one example: I told them I have a gluten intolerance and they gave me a salad with croutons. I explained that I can’t eat them or a salad that has touched them because it will make me sick. They took my salad back to the kitchen and just removed the croutons. I knew they did this cause I could see the crumbs on the plate. When I pointed that out, they insisted the croutons were gluten free when every other time, I’ve been told they aren’t. Idk what is going on with their management, maybe it’s changed, but this place sucks now.
I’ve missed being able to enjoy a great cake! The gluten free carrot cake and marble cake are hands down THE BEST!!!! Will be ordering one entire cake of each for my birthday!!!!!!

Holy crap that was good! Gluten free toast was delicious, ingredients seemed very fresh. The olive oil on my sandwich was particularly tasty. The iced vanilla latte w/ oat milk I got was one of the best lattes I’ve ever had - which is saying a lot because I get coffee out and about all the time. And the staff members I spoke to were all very kind and had very relaxed demeanors, which made the overall experience more calm. Wish there was a location close to my home in PA!
I have a gluten sensitivity and they went out of their way to accommodate me. They even brought out a complimentary dessert, though I passed since I don’t eat sugar, my husband loved it! The point is, they didn’t have to do any of that, but they did. I wish I remembered our waitress’s name because she was amazing!
The steak was delicious.
I have celiac deseas and this was a 10/10 ! I cannot emphasize this place enough !!! Italian and calm atmosphere, amazing service , small and family oriented, they had no problem going through each ingredient with me ! Hands down amazing !
Excellent food, gluten free options, the place is very nice and cozy, the service very good, very attentive! I would always come back! One of my favorites in Miami
Fernando was very attentive and recommended the meat and truffle pizza, and wow! 10/10! Super delicious! I asked him if they had gluten-free dough, and it was delicious! I highly recommend this place!
AMAZING! The food is unparalleled. Everything we ordered was delicious . Worth coming often . We will definitely be back . Also a plus for our gluten free friends who found multiple delicious choices on the menu .
The crunchy bee pollen and cocao nibs add another dimension to smoothies. The prices are high but worth the treat. The sugar and gluten free deserts are good like the almond butter cup.
This Anthony's was packed Friday Night 2/9/24 . The menu has changed With less pizza options. I ordered a Carnivori Pizza instead of Broccoli Rabe and Sausage (not on the menu) on a gluten free crust. I wanted the arugula on the pizza, but it was on the side. I also ordered an unsweet tea.
Coyo never disappoints.
I actually like this location more than the Wynnewood one, although you don't get the 'cool' kids here. Outdoor seating, great service.
They managed to make vegan and gluten free food without a problem ( try the vegan chicken taco).
One of my faves, can't wait to go back.
I ordered a large burger at this restaurant. They had gluten-free buns, so that was a plus. The burger was a shroom boom that included arugula. I had an egg added to this. They also had sweet potatoe fries instead of regular potatoes . The drink was this la Croix sparkling water. Overall good and the potion size was good
Truly disappointed. I found the restaurant on instagram and have been excited to try their food for a while now and let's just say I was not impressed. I am gluten free and on their instagram gluten free banana waffles are advertised but not available In store. The waiter mentioned that they have almond flour but that it was not available. My friend ordered a sandwich which is advertised with fries and shockingly enough (sarcasm) it was not available either. The guacamole did not taste fresh at all as a matter of fact it reminded me a lot of the premade Hass guacamole. We were basically the only ones in the restaurant when we got there other then a couple who was already eating outside yet somehow people that walked in maybe 20 minutes later and ordered more food then us received their meal first. The staff was nice but didn't really seem like they were very happy to be working except for two gentlemen who were running around attending to everyone. Truly disappointed in our experience today.
Also the tip is already included in the tab..... I guess we know why.
Amazing food, incredible service. Laz was the best!!! I have Celiac and was traveling from Seattle, and they were super understanding and I didn’t get sick, which is always a huge blessing. Definitely will return next time I’m in Miami!
One of the best restaurants in Miami.
I recommend the gluten-free pasta carbonara, the pasta with clams, and the burrata with prosciutto.
Eduardo's service was incredible.
Francesco‘s is fabulous! Not only was the food delicious , the presentation was a work of art. Everything was cooked perfection – the scallops melted in our mouths, the grilled octopus was the best I’ve ever had, and the tuna was a tasty, generous portion. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable with the menu - Helping me pick out gluten-free dishes that were mouth watering good. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to visit here again.
I have celiac (severe gluten allergy) and Five Guys is the only fast food restaurant in Florida I can eat at. Their allergy precautions are simply amazing and they don’t make you feel awkward or embarrassed when ordering food. The staff provide knock out service and Shearena always puts a smile on my face ❤️
Judi the new GM is the besttttt!
Also OSCAR the chef is fenomenal ! I have a severe Gluten allergy and he is beyond careful and educated.
We are regulars here and she has really improved the service here ! Everyone else needs to get it together , the servers are absolutely awful and not attentive, but I’m sure Judi will improve the service in the foreseeable future .
The coffee is locally sourced as are the pastries. The coffee is outstanding. I also had a gluten free monk fruit sweetened carrot cake which was amazing! Cute place, nice vibes, good music and great staff
I have a gluten allergy and communicated with the staff about what I could order. They assured me I will be fine and they are knowledgeable about cross contamination. Long story short I’m as sick as could be from your “gluten-free“ toasted tuna avocado sandwich.
Definitely NOT recommended for a celiac or gluten intolerant person.
We were SO thrilled when we found out Talavera had reopened after the remodel because for years it had been our favorite “go-to” date night restaurant (we’d bring all of our out-of-town friends and family here regularly.) Sadly, though, we were disappointed on a number of not-so-good (to us) changes when they reopened. Having said that, these new changes could be easily tweaked to make this restaurant as good as it was previously.
To begin, they took away the staple of the traditional and delicious Mexican food experience: the chips. Chips to start are one of the best parts for us, even if they charged for them I wouldn’t mind. Pretty please, just offer them again! Give us the option. The two little baked corn circles they brought out were very bland. No salt or flavor.
I understand they’re trying to help us make healthier choices without the fried food and flour products (they took away all gluten products, too) which is a nice gesture I suppose in some perspectives, but we do the “healthier” choices on a day-to-day basis and we would like to live a little when we go out to eat.
Secondly, again I reiterate, their new gluten free approach. We don’t care for the new “only corn tortilla” option. The little soft round flour tortillas were our absolute favorite, especially with the melted cheese appetizer we would always get. (They also changed the pico that came with that on the side and it’s no longer as delicious.) Again, just allowing us the option between the two (flour and corn tortillas) would be better, as they did before.
Thirdly, the sangria wasn’t as good. It’s a new recipe that was previously our favorite. My husband mentioned that.
Fourthly, the portion sizes are smaller. The rice portion was half as much as it used to be. But the recipe is still good.
Fifthly, some of the decor. It’s dark and more basic now, as they took away all the brilliant gorgeous blue and white hues of tiles and giant jars that I would gaze at and would lift my mood upon entering! They have now a plain brown paneled wall where the artful octopus used to be. If they put a large bright colorful pop of art there, maybe something abstract to go with their new modern approach, it would bring some zest and happiness to the overall new slightly somber/grey, monotone —flat—feeling. Just feels like it needs one central, colorful art piece.
Ok; time for the positives! What I do like in the changes are the round tables and removal of the booths. The chairs are more comfortable. The natural texture of the light fixtures above the tables are a nice touch. Also, the server we had was absolutely wonderful! Very attentive and very kind. She made my night!
We thoroughly enjoyed our entrees of the night.
To wrap it up, if they bring back the chips and the flour tortillas I will pop the rating back up to 5 stars and we’ll be so happy! :D
Gluten free/Celiac stay away-
Went last Friday with my celiac daughter. Ordered GF Spicy Tuna Tartare, Truffle Street Corn Guacamole and Flame Grilled chicken wings plus drinks. FYI- Friday nights no more happy hour food.
Food arrives. Guacamole has no chips. JUST guacamole. I ask our server why. He states the chips are not gluten free. So, I ask for the malanga chips brought to us with the Spicy Tuna. He says okay and disappears. Then, he tells us that the malanga chips are not GF AFTER my daughter has been eating them for 10 minutes. I ask for the manager. She tells us the chips are cooked in a dedicated fryer with no other contaminants, but they are not considered GF. She takes away the tuna and guacamole and brings us new food with celery, carrot sticks and lettuce. Definitely a big let down. BTW- we cited in our order that my daughter has an allergy so the kitchen should not have put the chips on the plate. Nevertheless, it sounds like either the kitchen or manager doesn't know what they are doing and we were very disappointed with the food.
Drinks were okay. Very weak.
Warning! Luca is officially on notice for reckless service. I am gluten intolerant so if you’re not or don’t care, feel free to skip this review. If you do have a food sensitivity or food restrictions, I recommend you consider my experience before dining at Luca.
I am 15 years into managing a gluten allergy. I am OG GF. I can’t eat gluten without it knocking me out mentally and physically so I don’t eat it. When we go out, we call ahead. When we spoke with Luca, the front desk assured me, “Yes of course, we can do gluten free pasta and have many gluten free dishes to choose from.” We left the conversation feeling excited and booked a reservation at Luca with some close friends.
We arrived at Luca impressed. Excellent vibe. Great drinks. Good lighting and size. The waiter was patient, knowledgeable, and timely. When ordering dishes, I always clarify the gluten friendly meals and make sure the staff is clear that I have a gluten allergy. I was assured all dishes would be gluten free. The food arrived. The apps were incredible and the mains followed. It was an excellent meal, taste wise. When I arrived home, I descended into a classic gluten symptom episode, riddled with headaches, fatigue, bubble guts, and irritability. Two days later I emerged from the gluten wreckage, confused, tormented, and disappointed.
I emailed Luca and let them know what happened and asked them for help identifying the dish that may have caused the issue. I waited for a reply. One day turned into 3, a week rolled by, and four full months passed with no reply from Luca. I cast another email and it fell into a chamber of info@ echoes. I am still waiting for a reply, but nearly 6 months have passed and I think “hope” has become foolhardy. Here we are writing a review to share my experience because Luca did not offer support.
Luca cost me multiple days of discomfort and didn’t have the decency to reply to inquiries. For me, this experience reveals their high service standards are all an act. Classless. Eat at your own risk!
I wish they would have a gluten free bun. They do have a toston bun you can switch out for, which is also nice. But you may not be in the mood for that. It’s good though.
I also wish they would play the news or sports or something on their TV instead of that Pincho Burger commercial on a loop.
Good food here. The Cajun fries were nice. High-end fast food, good prices.
Sweet Paris is a great spot—clean, smells nice, and has a chill, comfortable vibe. I was happy to see they offer gluten free and dairy free batter, which is awesome for people with allergies like me. I was amazed by Aaron and his manager Junior for being super friendly and a great hospitality. This is now my to go spot for a sweet treat, lunch or just coffee.
Always great food - albeit cooked from scratch so sometimes there may be a wait. Friendly and professional owner. Attentive to allergies. Gluten free options. Beautiful interior.
We stumbled onto this place by accident. They have a vegan risotto that’s off menu (if you ask for it) that’s good! Also lots of gluten free options, the waiter was very knowledgeable. Very good service and food was delicious
I was this place last night, the food is fantastic, the service 100% A++ all servers are there to assist you. But I want to tell you if you are allergic to gluten ask for Mariana, she is a lovely Venezuelan server who takes care of you so your healthy food will be OK.
It really is the best. This is the first time I've eaten pizza and not had a bloated feeling afterwards. They offer gluten free crust and it's very tasty. Their desserts are homemade. If you want to try something different, go for their Florida Orange cake... its one of a kind and delicious!

Excellent, authentic Italian food with prompt service. Very nice dining experience in the heart of Coral Gables. Delicious tiramisu, the best in town.
I love Tulio’s menu variety and its gluten free options. 😋🇮🇹🍝
Such an incredible dinner experience. The service from the moment you sit down is AMAZING. The service in Miami can lack sometimes but here before you can lift your glass the team is on it with everything. The food was also incredible. We had the steak and lamb and loved everything. Definitely excited to go back. They are also very serious about allergies and have many gluten free options.
